  1. Please, just let me finish it. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Kind regards, Shrimp Cot
  2. "Slither" was my most recent favorite and it was very americana.
  3. I think that people miss the point that these circles are not necessarily "forever". It will not be exactly the same this time as it was last time...etc. Cool concept. Loved the books, Love the show. I don't "think" about them too much, I just love the dramtic ride they offer.
  4. One of my favorite poems starts with... Sailing to Byzantium by Yeats That is no country for old men. The young In one another's arms, birds in the trees - Those dying generations - at their song, The salmon-falls, the mackerel-crowded seas, Fish, flesh, or fowl, commend all summer long Whatever is begotten, born, and dies. Caught in that sensual music all neglect Monuments of unageing intellect. An aged man is but a paltry thing, A tattered coat upon a stick, unless Soul clap its hands and sing, and louder sing For every tatter in its mortal dress, Nor is there singing school but studying Monuments of its own magnificence; And therefore I have sailed the seas and come To the holy city of Byzantium. O sages standing in God's holy fire As in the gold mosaic of a wall, Come from the holy fire, perne in a gyre, And be the singing-masters of my soul. Consume my heart away; sick with desire And fastened to a dying animal It knows not what it is; and gather me Into the artifice of eternity. Once out of nature I shall never take My bodily form from any natural thing, But such a form as Grecian goldsmiths make Of hammered gold and gold enamelling To keep a drowsy Emperor awake; Or set upon a golden bough to sing To lords and ladies of Byzantium Of what is past, or passing, or to come. In this poem Yeats explores his thoughts and musings on how immortality, art, and the human spirit may converge. Almost a "Rushlike" theme. Well, I like it. What it has to do with the movie, I have no idea.

  6. This thread is to celebrate comedians who have passed on. I'd like to start with Dave Allen. A favorite of mine when I was a kid-teen watching on public TV. We can't get his DVD in the states but luckily youtube has some gems as usual. this is a classic: http://youtube.com/watch?v=4kLTbvjqF6Y RIP Dave! Anyway, who was your favorite/s?
  7. god, I hate Nicolas Cage as an actor. Did he make a deal with the devil or what? He's like a tall Woody Allen trying to play macho characters. It's just not believable.
  8. I liked the scene where she balances on the chair to fix the curtains. But thats about it.
  9. QUOTE (Moonraker @ Mar 31 2006, 02:53 PM) Locke may not have gotten a good enough look at it, but you can. http://lost.cubit.net/pics/2x17/blastDoorMap.jpg That's Awesome!!!!! I think??
  10. What are you people doing in here? I mean, what's it all about eh? And....before you answer, could you be more specfic? Thanks.
  11. I liked it. I didn't like the ending at first, but it was at least believable.
  12. It was a good movie! Forget the flippin books....will ya? I read them, they are good, but these movies stand on their own. (well mostly) For the next movie....do we really want an hour and a half of Prof Umbridge? Thats what it would take to be "true to the book". GET OVER IT.
  13. This movie has some REALLY good stuff and REALLY bad stuff....imo.
  14. QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Oct 8 2005, 01:47 PM) I'm going to reserve any comments until I've seen the episode a couple more times. Hurley says http://www.wchstv.com/abc/lost/jorgegarcia.jpg DUDE...get a life.
  15. QUOTE (Slaine mac Roth @ Oct 5 2005, 02:49 AM) There is a fourth option, the one I subscribe to - Its full and he's using it to test his resolve. When I put "medicinal purposes" it was just a joke. So I would say yours fits under that one.."its full but hes not using"
  16. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Oct 4 2005, 06:35 PM) Dave Allen http://www.nostalgiacentral.com/images_tv/da13.jpg One of the greats - I was lucky to see him doing his show at the Allbery Theatre in London in 1987. He died in March this year. More Info Hope that clears things up MSC - Goodnight, and may your God go with you!! Thats him!! Thanks Madra! I knew you would know.
  17. I dont remember his name. But he had a show, similar to Benny Hill's except he would sit and do monologues and jokes whiles chain smoking cigarettes and drinking scotch I think. with sketches thrown in, often poking fun of the Pope and the Catholic Church, but not always... He was a thin man with dark hair...that's all I remember, I was young. Any help? I remember a few specific sketches If you think that would help.
