The song Nantucket Sleighride is one of my all time favorites. The live versions kick ass.

Agreed. None of these tunes would be in my top 10. The other grouping is great. Levee is in my top 5 Zep tunes. I think Battle gets points from people because of the Sandy Denny vocals. -

Your favorite Blue Öyster Cult album?
Mithrandir replied to Texas King's topic in Music Of The Spheres
I love the album! And the song!! "You're Not the One" is in my top 20 songs of all time! Yeah it is! -
Interesting that you do not list PeW. I cannot fathom how a Rush fan does not like the album that contains two stone cold classics and two epic masterpieces. But that's life!! :) I like it but I can live without it. It is my favorite album of all time by anyone on any given day. Along with PG from Zeppelin.

It's been over a year and I still don't know how to cope
Mithrandir replied to TemplesofLamneth's topic in Rush
I have been a fan since 1977 and I must admit that there is a void in my life. The music of Rush has been a part of my life for 40 years, so it's bound to have some type of affect. -
I live about 20 miles south of Pittsburgh. The weather forecast for this week 60's and maybe 70 on Friday. In February. Insane. I'm not complaining though! :)

Your favorite Blue Öyster Cult album?
Mithrandir replied to Texas King's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Their music has something sinister and dark on the edge of the it. Like that creepiness you feel, but can't see. I like this description: The songs often get described as "spooky" and "eerie" and that's true but they're not spooky and eerie in the way a black metal record or a horrorfilm soundtrack would be. There's just something slightly off about these songs and it's not easy to pin down exactly what it is. Like those nightmares that creep the shit out of you but if you try to retell them to someone else everything that scared you about them gets lost in translation. -
