In other news: Permanent Waves is still an 80`s album....
  2. Interesting...there are some very good songs on Victor, but I always thought the 'sound' was condensed, or flat.
  3. Gibson EDS 1275 double neck (ESL) Gibson Les Paul (ATWAS) Gibson HR Fusion (I liked the sound so much I bought one ;) ) Hentor Sportscaster ...and obviously is ES-355 Everything else is meh...especially the Signatures...
  4. ....Anything from ATAWS Love that Les Paul sound he created using Pyramid pickups...although I recall Alex saying he thought it sounded too heavy....oh well. What does he know? :P
  5. Journey...Schon is underrated, but I think his personality has something to do with that... ;)
  6. Agreed. His electric guitar solo intro for La Villa seemed to be a response to the rise of shred happening in the late 70s, early 80s. er....excuse me....Alex was shredding on day one (The Necromancer and just about anything from ATWAS).... The question is: did EVH ever refer to Alex`s style or ability? (since Alex is a better overall guitar player than EVH.... :) ) :codger:
  7. Taking the high road, all Rush albums are unique. :) However, as we know, their albums are produced in phases - guitar driven, synth heavy etc.... I would say for uniqueness - Vapor Trails - it came out of the blue, and is all over the place...plus there are no real guitar solos....that is unique ;)
  8. Don't care for it, especially the guitar solo...eeek...I think it's one of their first "filler' tunes, imho :P
  9. Tai Shan... Yes, it is really that bad...
  10. Nice topic. That's why Lifeson is so unique, he creates these solos out of thin air :) Top 3 (for today) Limelight (ESL video) Between the Wheels Cut to the Chase Honorable mention: The Necromancer Bottom 3 I'm sure they're on Clockwork or Snakes....meh Anyway, I thought Alex always recorded a bunch of takes and had Geddy piece his solos together....(or only true for some solos?) :rush: :Alex:
  11. ^^^ It actually was funny, the visual was disturbing, but funny nonetheless... :D
  12. Cool nice find!! :) I have heard a few of these from MitA's page and Big Al at times does sound a bit warbly, but I think he just grabs the guitar neck so hard that he temporarily de-tunes a string or two.... But yeah, add lot's of machines and effects - voila! :D .
  13. Analog Kid? Killer riffs, face-melting solo, and bouncy rhythm guitar...tight and compact song... :)
  14. Unfortunately I don`t think we`ll ever hear an actual Lee/Lifeson set list, other than a jam at a HOF induction or charity event. :(
  15. ^^^ Interesting explanation...wouldn't it mean the guitar solo is actually forward? Or am I missing something? Does that help? HAHA...nope... I`m just being a bit pedantic....isn`t a lead guitar considered a solo? :P (obviously the solo is backwards...)
  16. ^^^ Interesting explanation...wouldn't it mean the guitar solo is actually forward? Or am I missing something?
  17. My impression from interviews is that albums, once recorded, were a triumphant moment in time. Going back (or looking back), is not in the band's makeup. VT was remixed because fans kept calling/posting for fixes to the bricked mastering....
  18. That was beautiful... and very touching. :(
  19. I'd go Megxit... don`t care about Royalty, but gotta wonder why Harry would voluntarily leave the Family. Word on the interweb is he's not related to Prince Charles ;)
  20. Awesome! Thank you for sharing :D

The Analog Kid has an issue with your hyperbole. ah, okay I missed one. Best guitar solo he laid down since Moving Pictures except for TAK ...these posts made Kid Gloves cry... :( :P
