  1. QUOTE (King Troll @ Oct 27 2008, 07:32 PM) GONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Indeed. Such creative music and fantastic instrumentation.
  2. QUOTE (tangy @ Oct 8 2008, 07:32 PM) QUOTE (treeduck @ Oct 8 2008, 06:15 PM) Colors is growing on me, but their musical juxtapostions are almost too much to digest, like they tried to find the largest distance between two musical points and push them together just for the sake of it. Luckily this only happens about three or four times on the whole disc so it's just about ok in the final analysis. There's a lot of music on there though so as I say it's still growing as I listen.. I hear you. I've been listening to it regulary and still have not fully digested it entirely. The more I listen the more I become impressed by the drummer. I agree. Blake Richardson is a powerful, intense drummer. How he could possibly have the stamina and endurance to play the whole Colors album live is beyond me.
  3. Damnit, that's a tough one..... I'm going to go with PT for the sole reason they have more material to listen to... Porcupine Tree Yes
  4. QUOTE (edgyspice @ Sep 29 2008, 05:54 PM) QUOTE (Rush! @ Sep 29 2008, 01:48 PM) I adore the mini-moog solo in "Waka/Jawaka" by Frank Zappa. Zappa is a god. I need to get more of his albums. Yeah, he is a god. And you should get more of his work. If you're into jazz at all, or even big-band type stuff, seek out Waka/Jawaka and The Grand Wazoo, both from 1972. They're just brilliant.
  5. Marillion Naked City (John Zorn's 90s band)

  10. QUOTE (Rush! @ Aug 28 2008, 11:01 PM) Asking for the Lightbulb Sun limited edition for my birthday... hopefully I'll get it. Didn't get it on my birthday, but I believe my parents said they ordered it and it's coming in. It's the import, and from Amazon so I'm expecting it here within a couple of days. Amazon are usually excellent with getting packages on time.
  11. CDs (all remastered): The Velvet Underground & Nico - The Velvet Underground & Nico King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King Steely Dan - Aja Gang of Four - Entertainment! Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation (deluxe edition) Boredoms - Super ae Boris - At Last-Feedbacker Electric Masada - At the Mountains of Madness
  12. Well, I was SUPPOSED to go out with this girl who lives a few towns away, but she bailed on me. I only met her once at my job and we've been text messaged back and forth. She claims to really like me, but apparently her parents are not too happy with the situation. She told me she was available tonight, but her parents "wouldn't let her go out". I really don't know/can't tell if she's making up excuses or not, but I'm aggravated because I really would like to see her again. I mean it's a definite possibility that it really is her parents who are keeping her back, which I understand because we're three years apart in age (I'm the older one). But I actually think she looks a little older, but that doesn't even matter now. I'm just kind of annoyed.
  13. Asking for the Lightbulb Sun limited edition for my birthday... hopefully I'll get it.
  14. I think boys and girls/men and women should have whatever length hair they wish. I myself prefer girls with longer hair, but hair length doesn't affect their personality. I like to keep my hair longer (it's not down to my shoulders, that's for sure). For those of you who know what Nick Jonas looks like, (or even know who he is), I have hair similar to his. Kind of wild-looking, mostly curly but also wavy too. The only thing I dislike about my hair is that it gets super-greasy way too fast. I mean I always wash it, every day, but after a few hours I hate how it looks. Maybe it's just the humidity and me getting sweaty at work and stuff.
  15. I need to listen to more Opeth. I've only heard Blackwater Park at the moment but I feel that album is very strong. I'd like to check out more of their material soon.
  16. Thanks for posting the setlist Goob! And yeah, it was great to be back listening again! I believe you're now an expert at the radio shows and I was very impressed with the 'comedic value' of your show last night haha, if you even know what I mean. In other words, I think you've vastly improved even the show has always been fantastic.
  17. Excellent show last nite! Setlist please.

http://static.rateyourmusic.com/album_images/215118.jpg Porcupine Tree - Deadwing (2005): 1. Arriving Somewhere But Not Here 2. Deadwing 3. Lazarus 4. Mellotron Scratch 5. Glass Arm Shattering 6. Halo 7. Shallow 8. The Start of Something Beautiful 9. Open Car Every song is incredible though, IMO, a complete 5-star album. Maybe the last two are just slightly weaker than the rest.
  19. Are the NY and PA shows sold out?
  20. QUOTE (tangy @ Aug 19 2008, 11:22 AM) QUOTE (PuppetKing2112 @ Aug 18 2008, 09:56 PM) None of your net concerts are going to kick as much ass as my next concert. Unless any of you guys are seeing Radiohead by any chance. We will have to see. My next show is The Mars Volta! Then Buckethead- in a league all by himself Then David Allen Coe, the most ferocious country musician ever I'm absolutely dying to see TMV live! Next time they come around the NY/NJ/PA area I must find out about it and grab tickets asap.
  21. I find Signify to be highly underrated. I listened to it the other night and it's such great headphone music. It's a much more atmospheric album for PT though, more in the vein of The Sky Moves Sideways and Up the Downstair. A great album nonetheless, I think it's in my top 5, and maybe top 3 fav. PT records.
  22. Pink Floyd for me. Yes are great, but PF have been my favorite band for a long time and I just feel they have more consistent albums than Yes, but Yes are still a fine group.
  23. I enjoy both bands but I'd rather listen to PT.
