  1. Well this is easy. The only 4 I like to listen to regularly. Oh wait nvm there are 5.... Caravan BU2B Anarchist Carnies Honourable mention: Headlong Flight
  2. QUOTE (launchpad67a @ Jun 20 2012, 06:06 PM) QUOTE (deslock @ Jun 20 2012, 02:30 PM) However, I'm surprised there isn't a little fill at ~1:03 as that spot seems perfect for one. But the moment of restraint adds to the song's variety. @1:03 is right in the middle of the verse. No fill needed there for sure. As for the 2:41 - 2:46 part, it's perfect as it. The notes you don't play are the most important in music. Yeah you're right, never really noticed the 1:03 spot, that does sound off, but not enough for me to make a case of it. Anyways, as I've said about MY mentioned section, I have no issue with there not being some fancy ass fill there. It would be nice, but that's not the main issue. I just feel that at the very least they could have made a more obvious cymbal crash on the beginning of the verse. It just doesn't provide any UMPH to the beginning of the next part. Just seems weak that's all. I think there is a crash there, but its barely audible for some reason. So, it's almost as if the intent was there, but just ignored in recording. Maybe Neil missed. Yeah that's gotta be it. =p *comes to ridiculous conclusion on my own*
  3. One thing that kind of bothers me is that theres no indication on the CD itself that the album is Clockwork Angels. I mean if you wanted to play guessing games I guess it's pretty obvious that you'd just KNOW its CA because of the gears and whatnot. But my gripes are with the fact that every other Rush cd in existance has the album title right on the CD, which is helpful for me because I have my entire rush catalogue in a 24 cd holder zipper case thingamajig. =p Plus I have them in order of release, so it's pretty obvious, but still a flaw I think. 20 slots filled now. I only have room for Rush to make a max of more studio recordings. After that I guess they had better send me a bigger cd holder or I won't be buying their albums.
  4. QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Jun 21 2012, 12:13 AM) Mine looks exactly the same except there isn't a white bar in the middle of the digipack. I'm not sure if that's the flash or what. Am I the only one that really likes digipacks? That's the spine (inside view) The booklet also slides in behind the picture on the left. Between that, and the front cover.
  5. QUOTE (Jomboni @ Jun 19 2012, 08:00 PM) That, and she needs to grow 2 more fingers for the other symbols. Uhh, she could always do the other 2 symbols on her big toes. Personally I think the best bet would be to put the 2 symbols that the clock hands are point to on the front. Get the 9 and the 2 in there. PS: By the thread title I originally thought that you 2 "nail" while listening to clockwork angels.
  6. QUOTE (Terrapin @ Jun 20 2012, 05:01 PM) QUOTE (UltimoGuitarist @ Jun 20 2012, 08:04 PM) Anyone else bothered by this at all? Basically, at 2:41 - 2:46, there is no drum roll lead up into the next verse at all. No big deal...whatevs, it doesnt seem like Peart at all NOT to put something there but that's fine. But at LEAST put some kind of dominant cymbal crash at the beginning of the verse to kick it off with some power. Instead it just seems like he starts rocking the verse right on the highhat. Was this a recording error or something maybe? More likely a result of Nick R's "conducting" owned.
  7. I was interested in making a reply to this, but as I scrolled down to the quick reply box, I noticed liddybuck01's images/video in his sig and forgot what I was gonna say.
  8. Yeah I commented on that billboard 200 thing where rush was #2 and told rolling stone to go **** themselves.
  9. QUOTE (Shreddy Lee @ Jun 20 2012, 04:13 PM) I noticed it, but I'm sure it was just a choice he made. Not everything needs a flashy drum fill - the previous time he did put one in, and a great one at that, so that time he probably just wanted to let it breathe a little and mix it up. Yeah I agree with that. Sometimes simple is best. I love the drum fill he did on the other lead-up to the verse. It was placed on an odd beat and landed right on the money (obviously) and I love it. But yeah, the first one is just so blaw. I realize it's meant to showcase Alex doing the riff, but all I'm saying is at LEAST give us a big boom on the entrance to the verse. Like a deadly cymbal crash. Maybe for the live show a bomb like in Far Cry will go off and I'll be satisfied. =p

  11. If he was a fanboy he would never make suggestions on how to make their music better, which he does. He would simply think anything they do is perfect. Nuff said.
  12. QUOTE (DistantEarlyRushFan @ Jun 15 2012, 10:39 PM) This is a forum. No need to defend Adele here. f**k her This. I don't even know who this Adele noob is. Never heard of her, and if I haven't heard of her, she must not be very important because I only know of professionals. So, no thanks. Rush > whatever she is.
  13. QUOTE (trenken @ Jun 15 2012, 02:20 PM) QUOTE (canadianice @ Jun 15 2012, 11:34 AM) QUOTE (trenken @ Jun 15 2012, 10:55 AM) $20? Not even close to worth it to me for a difference you'll only barely notice on an expensive system. I bought it, and i can hear you bitching way more clearer Go f**k yourself and dont quote me everytime I type something. f***ing dickhead up my ass all day. Dont you have any hobbies or anything? EDIT- Nevermind, the dude is over 20 years older than me. Im not arguing with some old cranky bitch. OWNED. GG GOHL.
  14. Wow....This sounds TEN MILLION times better than the finished album mix. What the hell went wrong?
  15. That's my main complaint that it sounds VERY wavy at times, like the sound is all over the place and disorienting. Also the fact that the guitars are buried big time.
  16. QUOTE (Babycat @ Jun 13 2012, 02:36 PM) My one's shown on my My Fanpack's Arrived!! thread. Looks awesome. So many extras....*drools* Well by the lack of replies on this im going to have to assume that everyone is seeing exactly what they have as well lol. Other than fanpack receivers.
  17. In general these "digipak's" annoy me. Just curious if it's only me who always has to settle for them or if everyone also has the same Clockwork Angels type as me. Post pics of any of your differences please I'm really curious. http://i47.tinypic.com/rm4587.jpg
  18. QUOTE (Union 5-3992 @ Jun 12 2012, 12:30 AM) I have deprived myself of Clockwork Angels for a few days to prepare to hear it in a greater quality through CD. Unfortunately I crashed up our car today and have no way of getting to the CD until late tomorrow. Daydreaming about driving around listening to CA whilst driving huh? Yeah that'll do it.
  19. I flippin' love Geddy's bass playing on this album, however I feel that Alex's guitar work is very buried in the mix. It would be nice to somehow bring that up as loud as the bass.
  20. OP: I know what you're talking about. Its unfortunate that most Rush fans are untalented, dont have very good ears, and just in general arent technically inclined. Because a lot of them fail to see mistakes and poor recording errors etc. Blessing in disguise? Maybe, but there's no use trying to convince most of these people because they just don't get it.
  21. In general, pre-orders are a huge waste. There's ALWAYS copies of every CD I try to buy when I go on release date. I've never ran into sold out situations.
  22. QUOTE (KenJennings @ Jun 11 2012, 12:18 AM) If any song is overrated; it's Seven Cities of Gold. I don't see how Wish Them Well can be overrated, as lowly rated as it has generally been recieved. If anything Wish Them Well is underrated being how AWESOME it is. I can agree with that. Wish Them Well isn't as bad as I initially thought. And it has a sick solo. It's just a little repetative and cheesy at times. All that you can DOOOO is wish them welll (wishhhhhh themmmmm welllll) cmon geddy really? lol. But yeah, seven cities of gold is a huge meh for me too. Does nothing for me at all.
  23. "Vapour" ? Friggin Canadian...lol
  24. Those who say carnies is no good obvious don't have an ear for talent, and are bums. no offense. lol EDIT: Having said that, I agree with your statement about The Garden. VERYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY FRICKEN overrated. I've listened to the song several times at this point trying to find what people are freaking out over, and its just generic slow melodic typical boring Rush. I'm all for the softer side of Rush, I love Power Windows and simlilar sounding songs, but The Garden is not anything special. So I don't get it.
