  1. Ding ding ding ding! We have a winner! I wasn't going to post anything either, DD. But have crowned the champion, here. And why? What reason have I, to back up my choice? It's just...insipid. It's an insipid Rush song. I listened to this for the first time in ages yesterday and if it weren't for the cheesy backing vocals, I don't think it would be that bad. The bass line in the intro really captures my attention but it kinda goes downhill after that point...
  2. I love the song. me to! I meant me too. :) ME TOO! I think it's absolutely perfect and I especially love Geddy's harmonies that appear in the second chorus :geddy:
  3. I agree that CA is great, but.....dude....not liking The Garden? It is the biggest goosebump song on the whole record:) My favs are Caravan, BU2B, Anarchist, Headlong Flight, Garden. I also really like Wish Them Well.haha! There are actually some parts of the Garden that are really beautiful, I haven't listened to it much but I think it's the chorus that I liked. The chords were really nice if I recall correctly :) I think the initial reason I skipped this one is because it's quite a sad/emotional song and I must have been in a bad place when I first started listening to the album, you know when you're so down that the slightest thing can set you off? :boohoo: I'm in a very good place right now so I think I'll give a it another listen on my journey home from work this evening! :)
  4. I've got the same patches They're like the only patches in existence :(
  5. and that is exactly why I don't like Nick as a producer. He's such an obvious fanboy he doesn't seem to have it in him to tell the band when something sucks. (hence most of the boring dreck of the Snakes album) I can't get my head around this 'Snakes & Arrows is boring' thing!. It's possibly the only Rush album where I don't need to skip ONCE.
  6. I think VT, S&A and CA all sound beautiful :nya nya: :nya nya: :nya nya:
  7. Okay so, Clockwork Angels is definitely in my top 5, if not higher. Personal favourites are as follows: BU2B Clockwork Angels Caravan Carnies but I absolutely love all of them! Apart from The Garden, Wish Them Well and BU2B2. Sorry but these last three don't do much for me
  8. While I have everyone's attention, I just want to share my awesome Rush jacket and t-shirt with you all :haz: :rush:
  9. PIECEOFSHITABLE KINGDOM FREEZE? I would rather freeze to death on the top of Mount Everest than listen to that tripe. "Vapor Trails" is the "St. Anger" of Rush albums. it's absolutely one of the worst albums on the planet. Every great band writes a stinker. "The way out is the way in?" Vapor Trails should be the soundtrack to "The Human Centipede." This is depressing. I can't believe Freeze gets so much hate, it's possibly my favourite song off Vapor Trails!.
  10. Wow thanks, it was the best description of myself that I could come up with!
  11. Oh, and some of Geddy's vocals just sound pretty poor on the remix tbh AND I don't like the way the main vocal is really at the front of the mix in the "something stirs behind me" part of Freeze for example...I hope that made at least a bit of sense!
  12. This is the only reason I ever had to hear it. The original isn't on there so when I want to jam out with my phone in the shower, it's remix or nothing
  13. It isn't engrossing, is it? They improved the sound but lost the caustic anger in the process. Something went wrong with VT to make it sound so...right! To me, the remix is emotionless and without the raw intensity of the original, the songs maintain their strength but not the soul. Anger, hurt and pain sets the original on fire, and those who dislike it quite honestly have reason to feel that way. But it is the most ballsy, dangerous and vicious sounding Rush album and the remix creates an Illusion of fire, but merely singes the edges of the listeners emotions. My God, I couldn't agree more with all of this!. I just think the way the harmonies sounded in the original was so much better, it's like they kinda disappeared in the remix.
  14. I absolutely love Chemistry. The chords, the bass-line, the way Geddy says 'transmitted' :7up:
  15. Power Windows is one of my favourite albums too! :D Mad respect.
  16. MYSTIC RHYTHMS!?!?!?!?!? Shame on you.
  17. Snakes & Arrows makes perfect music for driving in the rain or when a storm is on its way (especially Spindrift)
  18. I'm new here so please do excuse me but do people really dislike Limbo? It's one of my favourite Rush songs!. In my case not so much dislike more of a very neutral feeling of it and doesn't do anything for me. Just average at best... :) :goodone: That makes a lot of sense actually, It's not too adventurous...
  19. I'm new here so please do excuse me but do people really dislike Limbo? It's one of my favourite Rush songs!.
  20. Live on R40 was superb. The video helped the rap immensely. The rap is possibly my favourite part of the whole song.
  21. Welcome to the forum, first of all. And right on...you are in good and plentiful company, with that favourite. Thank you! I've been meaning to join for a while, glad to be here. Yeah, not sure my love for some of their other albums will go down quite as well...
