  1. Never really cared for Queen. Freddie always annoyed me a lot, his operatic style just wasn't what I wanted to hear in a rock band. And the compositions were quite mediocre too. They had a good song here and there during their career, but mostly I could say Queen was over-dramatic pompous bullshit.
  2. A musician cannot escape the call of his nature. These gentlemen have music inside them still, because they are professional musicians. No doubt they will let it out again. So definitely yes.
  3. VOMIT Never heard. Are they any good? Absolutely. Dont let anyone EVER tell you otherwise. It may not be ones cup of tea mind ya.. Well, I don't drink tea or listen to Vomit. Might be my loss, but you can't have everything in this life, can you?
  4. I know you meant it as a joke but I agree with The Eagles. I know folks around here don't like them to say the least. Chicago would be a great choice as well... I find it always suspicious when a band is named after a city, state or something like that. Chicago, Boston, Kansas, America, Texas... Even Black Oak Arkansas, they have something in them I don't get. It shows lack of imagination, naturally, but somehow not one of these "geographical" bands have made it to my record collection. Texas is a band from Scotland. I know. They are still named after a geographical location, which was my point there.
  5. Back? (Not sure how you play this...)

You really should give Kansas a listen. If not, it's your loss. I have. Might be my loss. I don't hate them by any means, but I just find them a bit boring. Not for me.
  7. My sister actually likes TFF, or at least did like in the days of yore. Still she don't get Rush, not even HYF. You have to reconsider this.
  8. I think the OP was looking for the best... ;) Well, I thought about ZZ Top for a moment, and Skynyrd for another moment, but had to settle with The Dead. Opinions. There are 2 kinds of them. Mine and wrong. Besides, most of my favourite bands and artists have always hailed from the UK. Beatles, Stones, Who, Zeppelin, Floyd, Tull, Crimson, Bowie... Even Hendrix had to move to England first before his genius was noticed.
  9. Standing ovulation to Michael Anthony, the man who was the balls of VH. The bassist nowadays looks like he should have stayed at home playing his Xbox and eating burgers. On the other hand, it's quite convenient to have a summer job in daddy's business.

  11. Well, same here actually. I'm 41 and most of my friends are about the same age and most of them know Rush already. Some like it, fine. Some don't, and there's nothing I can do about it. What I CAN do is civilize my kids. My 10-year old son has already shown some interest in Rush after seeing me watching the live dvd's. I think he will be fine and become a fan sooner or later, although his main interest nowadays is football (European football; the sports you call soccer. Never understood that. Our football is played with feet, your "football" is more like armpitball.)
  12. The first Rush song I heard was The Enemy Within, but I wouldn't necessarily start with that. It was back in 1984 and I was 11, it fitted the times. Nowadays it would take something else probably. Either Limelight or Xanadu, depending on the victim's ability to concentrate.
  13. You can always complain to your local drug dealer.
  14. I have to quote Marilyn Monroe. "Nothing but the radio on."
  15. :P Well, that is an important one... In Finnish it is Perkele. Not "pöökele", but PeRRRRRRRRRRRkele, with a very sharp R.
  16. Mine was 23rd in the Finnish surname list some years ago. Yes, we have that many names here.
  17. One song? Impossible. I'd chain this person to a chair and play him/her the whole catalog form the first album on. No mercy!
  18. I guess your favourite Iggy Pop album is "Blah Blah Blah".
  19. :P Well, that is an important one... Oh, and C'est la vie too, I forgot. In German the most important sentence is "Ich habe eine kleine Wurst in meine Lederhosen". Although I didn't learn that in school...
  20. I'd also like to learn more languages. Finnish is my native, and I think I can handle English quite well. Swedish - 6 years of that in school, so I know quite a bit of it. I also went to classes in German for 2 years but I've forgotten most things I learned. Then I can order Pizza in Italian and handle hotel and restaurant vocabulary in Spanish. That's about it. Especially Spanish and Italian are languages I'd love to speak decently. Why not French too; all I can say is merci, merde and je't aime.
  21. I hate many things. I also love many things. Still I don't like to call myself a hater. Or a lover.
