  1. On the first set list drum kit, one of the logos is like some kind of writing. Does anyone know what it is? http://www.dwdrums.com/images/limited/Icon-R40.jpg The logo on the far right.
  2. Where did you get that gif in your signature?
  3. I agree with most of this, but I may add Territories or Force Ten to the tolerable synth era; and The Main Monkey Business to the musicianship. Also, I would add something like "New World Man" or "Superconductor" for some of the pop rockish stuff
  4. Don't understand all the bashing of the Time Machine Tour. His voice wasn't the best, sure, but it was much better than Clockwork Angels Tour in my opinion. And his performance of "Working Man" was outstanding in Cleveland.
  5. Being just my fourth Rush concert (although all Rush concerts, I would assume, were awesome), I still had a feeling of euphoria for seeing them live. So, every part was my favorite. However, there were a few standouts: Opening video, starting at the beginning of their music, working their way up, and then playing "The Anarchist" "How It Is" "Between The Wheels" is now one of my favorite Rush songs "Hemispheres," "Cygnus," and "Xanadu" were outstanding More "2112" than usual Medley encores of "Lakeside Park/Anthem" and "What You're Doing/Working Man," even though no performance of "Working Man" will ever top the performance in Cleveland on the Time Machine Tour "Losing It" live, even though I wasn't at one of those concerts

    BU2B2

There are 12 numbers on a clock and they only had 11 tracks so they added BU2B2. Then they realized it made a nice bookend with BU2B and went back to that song and added the little quiet interlude at the beginning of the song that wasn't on the single version. It was all very Zen. That makes a lot of sense. Thanks
  8. First, the setup: You are introducing a friend to Rush, and you want to provide them with a glimpse into several examples of the group's work, and from there introduce them to similar works of the example they like, and eventually they'll come to love Rush, as every sane human being does. So, what would your examples be? They should fit genres such as: prog, synth, classic, pop rock, etc. My list is: In The Mood Bastille Day 2112 A Farewell to Kings YYZ Limelight New World Man Between the Wheels Open Secrets Superconductor Double Agent Resist Freeze The Garden I know some versions of this have been done before, but not like this. Basically, songs that describe the different "types" of Rush.

    BU2B2

Fair enough, Rush songs are pretty odd I guess. I just can't seem to figure out the purpose of it. It doesn't reveal too much about the story that isn't revealed in other songs, and there's hardly any musicianship to it.

:o It's the best song on it. You may be talking about BU2B. I'm referring to BU2B2

    BU2B2

It's such an odd song, why even include it on the album?
  12. Why is Time Machine so consistently placed towards the bottom? It was my first Rush concert so I have a lot of bias for it.
  13. A wheel of fate, a game of chance
  14. Jacob's Ladder - R40 The Weapon - Grace Under Pressure
  15. The bodies spin in a clockwork dance
  16. Rush: Finding My Way Fly By Night: Anthem Caress of Steel: Bastille Day 2112: A Passage to Bangkok A Farewell to Kings: uhhhhh.... Hemispheres: The Trees Permanent Waves: Freewill Moving Pictures: ummmm.... Signals: The Analog Kid Grace Under Pressure: Distant Early Warning Power Windows: The Big Money Hold Your Fire: Force Ten Presto: Show Don't Tell Roll the Bones: Dreamline Counterparts: Stick It Out Test for Echo: Resist (non-acoustic) Vapor Trails: One Little Victory Snakes and Arrows: Faithless Clockwork Angels: BU2B
  17. You know the drill: choose one song from each album that received little airplay, isn't appreciated as much as it should, or even isn't played live as much as it should be. Here's my list: Rush: Here Again Fly By Night: Beneath, Between, and Behind Caress of Steel: Fountain of Lamneth 2112: The Twilight Zone A Farewell To Kings: Cinderella Man Hemispheres: Circumstances Permanent Waves: Natural Science Moving Pictures: (Are any of them underrated?) Witch Hunt Signals: Losing It Grace Under Pressure: The Enemy Within Power Windows: Emotion Detector Hold Your Fire: Lock and Key Presto: Superconductor Roll the Bones: Neurotica Counterparts: Cold Fire Test For Echo: Totem Vapor Trails: Freeze Snakes and Arrows: The Way the Wind Blows Clockwork Angels: The Wreckers
  18. I would have to say the entire song "Losing It" is my favorite lyrical presentation. The song consistently ranks in my top 10 because of it. The dancer slows her frantic pace in pain and desperation Her aching limbs and downcast face aglow with perspiration Stiff as wire her lungs on fire with just the briefest pace Flooding through her memory the echoes of old applause The writer stares with glassy eyes defies the empty page His beard is white his face is lined and streaked with tears of rage Thirty years ago how the words would flow with passion and precision But now his mind is dark and dulled by sickness and indecision Some are born to move the world to live their fantasies But most of us just dream about the things we'd like to be Sadder still to watch it die than never to have known it For you the blind who once could see The bell tolls for thee The bell tolls for thee The song speaks to how many artists, whether authors, dancers, musicians, etc., will continue their art to a time that they find they cannot do it as well as they once could. The last stanza explains how perhaps it would be better to never know a talent than to watch that talent fade over the years. Personally, I believe that this song explains Neil's reluctance to continue his professional music career. He knows that his body will not be able to produce the sounds that he wants to produce, so he is retiring before he has to watch his drumming die.
  19. How 'bout from Vapor Trails "Everyday Glory": If the future's looking dark We're the ones who have to shine If there's no one in control We're the ones who draw the line Though we live in trying times We're the ones who have to try Though we know that time has wings We're the ones who have to fly
  20. I noticed that it was gone but "What You're Doing" is still on there for me
  21. Overrated: Incredibly difficult to say any Rush song is overrated, but I guess I'll say "Fly By Night" Underrated: "Losing It" or "Here Again"
