  1. Thanks indeed Duck. My leg is obviously still KO after the B'ham trip, but you all help my spirit flying high again. I didn't know about the leg Geez, what happened?? a very bad kind of sciatica. I had to be wheelchaired thru airports, change my standing ticket with a seat at Genting Arena and getting taxis whenever I could to survive the trip Did it come on suddenly or something? Or did you already have it and it got worse in a hurry? came out suddendly without any reason (no shocks or accidents) a couple of weeks ago and it went worse day by day. I'm waiting for Xrays and Magnetic Resonance results to understand the cause
  2. Happy Birthday to another great member of 'The 6th Feb Club' (membership cards on the way)

  5. my 'very far from being perfect' knowledge of english language prevents me to wish you properly Happy Birthday, but I'm pretty sure the rest of The Forum will flood this thread in the wonderful ways you deserve. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAN-TOR !!!!! p.s-. with my gigantic intellect I have just wrongly started another similar thread (it's only 7 AM here....)

  8. Thanks Beany, but the privilege and honour is all mine for sharing with you
  9. I'm in bed in my Birmingham hotel now and their final show has been great but not otherworldy: a very good show like the ones I saw last summer. Their legend will last forever and my memories of their gigs will last till I die.
  10. For those that might be interested (but MAINLY for a private sense of relief): my leg is still aching and full recovery is not arond the corner but I'm in Birmingham! Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath indeed....
  11. Here's a gift for you from my image collection... http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Geezers/Old%20man%20walking%20GIF.gifhttp://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Geezers/Movies-%20Gran%20Torino%20Curmudgeonality.jpghttp://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Geezers/geezershakingfist.gifhttp://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Geezers/geezercrossingsign.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Geezers/geezerwchair.gif http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Geezers/geezer.gif :codger: I also met a veteran from the Korean 'Police Action' today, and we talked about the History Channel's documentaries on German war efforts in WW II... http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j223/OldRUSHfan/Banana%20World/banana%20screaming.gif Fantastic picture! But I'm sure that boy in this moment walks faster than me!
  12. THANKS TO EVERYONE !!!!! I haven't been around here a lot lately 'cause I'm fighting for a while a very strong nerve pain in my right leg (a bad kind of sciatica) that can't let me actually walk. Supposed to fly to Birmingham (England) for Sabbath final gig with a friend of mine from Italy in 48 hrs and I have just asked both airline and venue complete assistance for this poor, soddin', middle aged (once) rocker. Stay tuned.
  13. And if you want an idea for a worse kind of doom don't forget the (once supposed) western countries in Europe.....
  14. I think he was a significant member actually. He played on every album starting with Heaven and Hell. RIP Yes, he did all the keyboards and provided backing vocals for Sabbath. The man definitely contributed more than anyone thought. He was always there live but the band had him playing off to the side or backstage where nobody could see him. I guess Iommi felt having a keyboard player on stage didn't fit the Sabbath image. He would play some rhythm guitar live as well while Iommi was playing solos. I saw Sabbath in 1995 and from where I was standing I could see Geoff playing on the side of the stage behind a curtain. He hit the high notes on Headless Cross because there was no way in hell Tony Martin was gonna be able to do that every show and be able to keep singing. RIP. I absolutely didn't want to dismiss his role with my previous words (errr, English language is still a minefield for me....) and I agree with both of you: actually from 15 years he played some very doomy intros and instrumental bridging tracks. a funny thing I remember about him he is playing during the Tony Martin years with a "For Hire" small banner hanging from his keyboards.
  15. I have a very little experience of venues around Europe and one of favourite is the Forum in Kentish Town (former Town & Country Club) and I also love the magic of Royal Albert Hall. I went to Glasgow Barrowlands once (1991) and loved the 'other kind of magic' around!
  16. Overfkill Bomber Stay Clean special mention for Going To Brazil
  17. He died at 68. Not a key member in history of Black Sabbath (before he played in Quartz - debut album produced by Tony Iommi) , but a nice bloke and he added some good parts here and there, E5150 above all.
  18. Get Bill Bruford or Simon Philips, call it whatever you want (not Rush obviously) and do some new great music
  19. Happy Birthday , SUPER SUPER SMASHER !!!
  20. Happy Biirthday, Catherine !!!!!
  21. Both bands had their golden eras (long gone) and forcWhitesnake 1978/1994 was the peak. But after all this time Reverend Billy Gibbons, Dusty and Frank remain much cooler blokes than Coverdale and the musicians he played with in the last 20 yrs
