  1. Fraroc's new band. Their new single this Hair's for you is ripping up the chart. yes i mean chart......singular. Mick I'm on a site called The Rush Forum. That would indicate I like genres other than hair metal lol
  2. I dont think you understand Earl. He is literally Yosemite Sam after taking 3 parts Monster energy drink mixed with 4 parts Mountain Dew and 10 parts liquefied crack cocaine.
  3. I would LOVE to hear Virus done with Bruce. He would do a fantastic job with that one.
  4. He doesn't gain anything by lying. But don't forget that close friendships create blind loyalty which leads to over praising the person you care about. He's obviously not going to publicly throw a fellow bandmate and friend under the bus. I'm tired of talking about this Jannick shit anyways. Blaze is a good singer, he just didn't really fit with Maiden the way Steve originally thought he would. I always said that The X Factor would be considered a top tier Maiden album if Bruce sang on it since most of the material is pretty strong. But Blaze just couldn't give that life and passion to the songs that Bruce could. The audience completely abandoned them as well. They went from playing arenas and stadiums to only doing a few thousand seat venues with Blaze. Obviously filling Bruce's shoes was going to be a daunting task for anyone. But Blaze had none of the on stage presence, charisma and personality that Bruce does. If he could have even brought a little life to things fans would look on him more favorable. I agree about the stage presence. Even at the ripe old age of 58, Bruce is all over the place onstage. Blaze on the other hand was a statue. All he really did was stay in a power stance in the centre of the stage, sang and tried to "look tough". I understand that Maiden was trying to go in a rough and gritty direction, but he tried way too hard to look the part.
  5. Now that I'm listening to more Iron Maiden, I'm now beginning to realize that a lot of the Blaze Bayley material is actually really good. I fuc'king LOVE Virus and Man On The Edge. Virus has a lot of progressive elements to them and Man On The Edge reminds me of Be Quick or Be Dead, which is one of my favorites. Contrary to most fans' opinions, I think Blaze is actually a really good vocalist in the lower register and I think Steve Harris made a huge mistake by refusing to tune down a half step. They would have sounded way better overall and Blaze wouldn't have had to struggle to hit those high notes.
  6. I'll be happy if they do innuendo just once with Adam.

    From the Vaults

I made a thread about this a while back. I personally believe that if Rush has a vault, it's probably 100% unreleased concert videos and audio tapes of shows. There are probably no unreleased Rush songs out there. In one respect, I really do hope there is a vault, because that's probably where the cut Grace Under Pressure Live footage is and videos of all the times they played in the Capital Centre in Largo.
  8. Can they PLEASE do innuendo with Adam Lambert?

  10. I love watching this band in particular. because what they're playing is so crazy intricate. what talented men. Mick Yes, they really are talented. Where the heck was my head at back then that I ignored them? Make up for some lost time and see them live. Believe me it's worth it.
  11. They way I describe Steve's voice change is this. In the 70s, he had a nice, clean mellow voice. Similar to how Ronnie Platt sounds now. From 1985 onward, he had the same range, but with a much more harsh and unclean voice.
  12. Freaks of Nature made it up for me. Great album.
  13. Even Adrian Smith says that Janick is a great songwriter. I don't know what he has to gain from lying, so I presume Adrian is being truthful about that.
  14. Steve Harris wrote Fear Of The Dark. And if you think he had any sort of huge contribution to Book Of Souls outside of writing the pointless intro than you've still got a lot to learn about the band. The bulk of that song was written by Harris and that's what makes it good. As for his show off stage antics, he's not showing anything off. He's just staying active to show it looks like he's actually doing something. In reality, he adds nothing special to them except for the three guitarist thing looks cool. Adrian, Dave and Steve are the ones who do all the work musically on stage. f**k I was thinking of Be Quick or Be Dead, not Fear of the Dark (right album wrong song lol) Anyway, the point is whether you like Janick's guitar playing and stage presence or not, you can't change the fact that he was responsible for co-writing a lot of great Maiden songs.
  15. I don't know why everyone else dislikes Janick Gers. Great guitarist, great songwriter and as a bonus, he is so entertaining to watch onstage! I love how he's not afraid to be show-offy. And besides, he wrote a lot of great songs, Fear of The Dark and Book Of Souls are just two of them.
  16. Anything that's halfway decent is the opposite of Kid Rock.
  17. 64 years young :) Have a great birthday Ged!!!
  18. About a week after I've saw them for the first time, it appears I have caught a MAJOR iron maiden bug and I can't stop listening to them.
  19. Someone that I know who believes in the whole "rock is dead" business had told me that the reason why rock and metal is dying is because of the whole "dad rock" stigma. The principle was that kids think it's generally "uncool" to like music that your parents listen to, which is why bands like the Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and even Zeppelin took a big hit in the 1990s in terms of popularity...and he told me that nowadays, classic 80s metal bands like Iron Maiden and Metallica along with hair metal and various other forms of hard rock in the 80s are now falling victim to the "dad rock" stigma which is (according to this person I'm talking about) the harbinger for the death of rock and metal. Now before you all get your panties in a bunch, I think what that guy said was a bunch of horseshit and I don't believe one word of it. When I saw Iron Maiden a week ago for the Book Of Souls tour, there were tons of young kids, teenagers, and college kids in the audience and it wasn't like these kids were being dragged there by their parents, they were REALLY into it. They knew all the lyrics to most of the songs, even the new ones off of the latest album! I think "dad rock" is a loaded term used to not only disparage older bands, but to insult younger fans of older bands, in the sense of "ugh, you like Metallica? That's lame-ass dad rock." Anyway, I'd like to get your thoughts on this matter.
  20. Didn't have any new delusions to bitch about so you decided to bring back one of the classics, huh? I like the classics... Waiting for fraroc to post To cry the board away Waiting for the baby's tear To cast its wet your way Countless days It's every day Waiting for fraroc to post And turn the board around Waiting for his ranting and The bullshit I have found Looking for An open sore You don't get crying for nothing You don't get shrieking for free You won't get joy With the tears still on you boy No matter what your days might be Where you cry is your own kingdom How you cry is your own glory When you cry is your own hour What you cry is your own story In your eyes are the answers Let them flow you along Let your sobs be like rivers And the dread of your own wrong Great song, great album. I'm going to go cry now. No offence, but the SpaghettiLee song is way better. Anyway...I guess I should have provided some kind of context behind my rant. Under normal circumstances, I would have left it alone, I wouldn't have felt the need to rant about it once more, but today something happened that just made me had to release my frustration in one way. Basically, I had gotten into an argument with somebody over the topic of tribute bands. I told this person about an Iron Maiden tribute band that I enjoy seeing when they play a venue near me and he basically scoffed at me and told me that it's really embarrassing and lame to enjoy an "imitation" of a band. And I responded with "well, what about the Beatles or Led Zeppelin? They're not around anymore! If someone wanted to see either one of those bands live, a tribute act is going to be the best they're gonna get." I thought he going to come around after I said that, but nope. His whole reasoning behind it was that he believes that tribute bands are a form of thievery in the sense that they steal from the bands they perform from and they steal gigs away from original bands. I personally think that's bullshit because even though I see a lot of tribute acts playing where I live, there are also a good amount of new original bands too. So fraroc, you cannot appreciate JBs song because it reminded you of a former poster here ?? Yet you can go watch Tom, Dick & Harry pretend to be Rush and enjoy it ?? No offense, but Geddy, Alex and Neil are way better I actually though SpaghettiLee was hilarious. He was an asshole, most definitely, but he was still a very entertaining poster.

  22. Okay. Time for a rant. I'm sick and tired of this "Fuck you, I got mine." attitude that older fans of rock and metal have twoards younger fans. Every time I see an announcement about a band retiring or retiring soon, whether it be Rush, Whitesnake, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Saga, or any other band that announced a final tour, whenever someone speaks out against the band's decision to retire, they get instantly berated by the older fans of that respective band, get called selfish, entitled etc. "(insert retired band here) dosen't owe you shit" and it just goes on and on. But what really bothers me is when these older fans follow it up with "Well I'm satisfied because I got to see Rush over fifteen times!" Well whoop de fucking doo for you. What about the young kid that just discovered Rush, loves them, wants to see them live, but will never get to see them live because they broke up? "Oh well, too bad, sucks for you." Like this new crop of Rush fans don't count because they never got to see them live. "Yeah, well, your parents should have had you earlier." Anyway, that's all I have to say.
  23. I don't deserve this....After what said about HemiBeers.....I thought that you guys would all hate me....I wouldn't necessarily blame you if you did. But seriously.....thank you so much.....
  24. I admit it....what I said about HemiBeers was awful. I should have tried to get my points across in a civilized manner....but I let my anger take over me. And I posted while I was very pissed off and not thinking straight....I knew I should have cooled down first... When it comes to the topic of suicide and depression, i have battled depression most of my life and I've had many friends and acquaintances that have gone through similar things that Chester Bennington went through. When I saw what HemiBeers posted, it hurt me....it hurt me on a very personal level and I just lost control of my anger and decided to hurt him back as opposed to just disagreeing....I lost control of myself again.... It was a total dick move for me...I know I'm better than that, and if not, I want to be better than that.... I am so sorry HemiBeers...I was such an asshole.... you didn't deserve what I gave you...Im so sorry that I accused you of not loving your son....I'm sorry for saying you were responsible for his depression....
