  1. I think they will be sending you an email link tomorrow, if history is correct.
  2. Here is hoping for a special tribute to Power Window's 30th anniversary (yes I know it got a very special 27th/28th birthday, but a guy can dream can't he)
  3. Well looks like I'm driving to the twin cities to see Rush. I would be super-excited because a twin cities concert trip means leaving at midnight to enjoy one of the amusement parks out there for a day before the concert starts, but I will have just seen They Might Be Giants 3 weeks ago, so the excitement dwindles just a bit, but they again, HEY! RUSH IS ON TOUR!
  4. All dates now posted, everyone in the midwest and southeast can stop holding their breath

  8. Why do I see Geddy and Alex snickering at a computer deciding when to actually open the dates up
  9. Well I'm hoping for Winnipeg. Sorry that must be the worst case scenario for you considering western Canada's regions
  10. Alright im on the site, but it wont open the tour page
  11. Damn, the website wont open for me, and I can't see the dates, I am really hoping they are playing within 8 hours of me at most.
  12. The first game and almost all of the second game was by sound-alike musicians, which included a cover of YYZ. The third game, and the first rock band had about 2/3 originals and 1/3 covers (with rock band version having a dreadful vocal cover of tom sawyer) and from then on (Guitar Hero 4 and Rock Band 2) all the songs have been originals. It was mostly a matter of money and trust that the games had to accumulate to pay for and represent the product. Rush was such a fan of the games that they gave that live copy (from an unreleased recording that was to be used for a planned live album (before moving pictures happened)). Of course, Rush were big fans, so they would later narrate 2112 for Guitar Hero 6
  13. Disappointed he I not playing Winnipeg, normally he always comes. Not to worry for me though, he happens to be playing Orlando while I am on vacation down there.
  14. Toughie. 1. Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective 2. Tomboy by Panda Bear 3 Mix Cd's, one for Animal Collective related stuff, one for They Might Be Giants, and one for everything else. I could list my other top albums, but if I knew I would never hear anything else again, I would make sure to take a sample of everything.
  15. RushBoingo

    Rush number 9?

And what songs led you to this conclusion on Animal Collective Segue? I ask being the forum's number one fan for them.

    Rush number 9?

I'm at a loss of words. Some easy targets on the list aside. Majority of the artists on here are good to fantastic. Yet obvious bad band choices (All the Nickleback's and Jonas Brothers of the world) are no where to be found. All the entries add up to personal opinions ("I don't get it" just oozes from half of these reviews) from a bunch of top 40 reviews. I believe this is the same publication that had that arrogant reviewer believing Rush did not deserve to be in the hall of fame. And they have the audacity to include Animal Collective on the list too. The Band that has the most critically acclaimed album of 2009, and has all but 2 albums with a metacritic score above 75. I repeat this mantra to all ignorant music listeners in the world, if you don't like or get it, it's not automatically bad. The only bad kind of music is that which is made for something other than the sake of the music (i.e. Money and Fame)
  17. I love the passion dude! Thanks. Wanna See what I've been raving about? Tell Me What You Think
  18. Well, what is most likely the album of the year for me is out Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper is AMAZING. So many good tracks of brilliant minimalism Mr. Noah, Butcher Baker Candlestick Maker, and Boys Latin for the energy, Selfish Gene for the thoughtful, and Tropic Of Cancer for raw emotion. SO GOOD!
  19. Don't know that one, but I love the songs Stop and Been Caught Stealing.
  20. 1. The Big Money 2. Marathon 3. Grand Designs 4. Territories 5. Mystic Rhythms 6. Middletown Dreams 7. Manhattan Project 8. Emotion Detector
  21. They Might Be Giant's Dial A Song Project kicked off on Tuesday, and three albums will come of it, first one in April. Owl City allegedly has one around the corner. Dan Deacon has one out in February called Gliss Riffer that I am excited for, OH YEAH! Panda Bear has a new album out this Tuesday, and I can barely wait. Panda Bear Vs The Grim Reaper. Already slated for me to be the best album of 2015 (based on concert previews, and singles released)
  22. I have not taken full Rush Albums out in the car for a while now, I am always buying new CD's to listen to (Right now the choice selection that wont leave my player is Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by Smashing Pumpkins). I remember being particularly fond of listening to clockwork angels start to finish on highway drives when it first came out. Meanwhile any of the live albums are good for a car trip too.
  23. :P Well, I was born in the seventies and grew up in the eighties, and in America to boot. You had Margaret Thatcher, and we had Ronald Reagan. :eyeroll: :boo hiss: I actually dislike so much music that came out in the 80s...at least that which was 'popular'...but there are some great little nuggets here and there. You had cooler movies. Back To The Future, Terminator, Indiana Jones, Goonies and classic cheese like Naked Gun or Adventures In Babysitting. I will always long for the decade that gave us weird looking fashion (my goodness, I would love for girls to dress modestly today!). Jesus man, I'm beat. Just got back from Disneyland. The Indiana Jones ride is off the hook! Great time at the park. It always goes by so damn fast. It was 80 degrees at Disneyland yesterday. I thought school was back in and everyone was back to work. Boy was I wrong. It was like a hot summer day with lines 2 hours deep! INSANE!!! I'm 46 man and Disneyland is the BEST! It was the last weekend with the Jack Skellington Haunted Mansion. Simply the best!!! Next to the Four Mountains of course!! Splash Mountain Thunder Mountain Space Mountain Matterhorn Disneyland blows Disney World AWAY! JMO!!!!! Off Topic alert! Who cares! It's my thread!! Cheers mates! Hey the have Oswald The Rabbit on the Californialand side. Oswald was created by Walt when he was working for Universal. When Walt left Universal kept the rights so Walt had to start over and so he created Mickey. "Steamboat Willie" of course!!!! Well, this post may be irrelevant to the topic, but I must approve all Amusement Park Posts, as the forum's resident theme park fanatic. Glad to hear you had fun.
  24. You gonna play football this year, Boingo? No Nah, Nah, Nah
