  1. I was a teen in the eighties and always felt that Metal was it's own movement owing homage to hard rock. To me you were a Metal band or you weren't. Fast Metal like Slayer, Anthrax, Metallica, Megadeth Exodus, or more mainstream stuff like Priest, Maiden, Scorpions etc. Then the commercial movement was on with sellouts like Twisted Sister.
  2. Add me to the list of people happy about the CA material.
  3. Bruce has been in decline for a while. He's still got the strength, but not the range of his youth. Rob Halford on the other hand - astonishing for someone of his age. Watch a video of Live after death, then watch something from last year. The drop off is not really that bad for nearly thirty years.
  4. They don't have any financial incentives, LOL. They're rich men who can easily provide for their families' future generations. LOL, I dunno why people can't see the forest for the trees about this. It's pretty easy to determine they're saying in the nicest way possible (typically Rush), that this is the last tour. The whole 'leaked info to sell more tickets' conspiracy theory is ridiculous. That's never been how Rush operates. Some other bands, you bet. But not the boys. No need nor motive. I guarantee u they don't consider themselves to be rich. U r naive to think Rush Inc. is not pushing any and all manipulative buttons for this tour. They are businessmen 100% before being musicians. Idiotic. The only people who think this are the folks who are upset about ticket prices. Look around. Every major touring act's ticket prices are inflated. The concert industry has grown to be a serious luxury product. I guarantee you they know they're quite well off, and don't ever need to tour again if they don't want to. I can assure you ticket prices aren't the issue with me.. Its purely a matter of principle. Which is pretty ironic, since Rush is one of the few bands who actively practice principle over the bottom line. Maybe you ought to show us where exactly Rush is selling out. The concepts of principle/character with Rush has eroded significantly for many years now. I won't go into my grievances with them, but they should be pretty obvious to anyone who's been following them for quite a long time. Following any music group expecting some kind or principle/character above the rest of human kind is naive to begin with. The only disappointment is not by the band, but of the self imposed pedestal you set them on.

  6. Concord Pavilion California. I saw the S&A tour 2007. It's outdoors so the experience event to event and where you're seated may make a difference but Rush sounded great, and Geddy's voice was good that day too.
  7. Witch Hunt is great............... That is all.
  8. There has been a guy like this in every bowling Alley I've been to. Several in one league I was in. http://hhrmediagroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/the-jesus.jpg Bill Murray is a master But I can't vote against "the dude" http://www.dvdizzy.com/images/b/biglebowski-12.jpg
  9. Wow I feel like Dancing!!!!!!!! http://media.giphy.com/media/MGcPtfsD8L5Kw/giphy.gif
  10. Where you are at affects typical pricing. I'm am going to see Rush at SAP San Jose California. I bought platinum tickets second row Floor side section (Geddy) for 495.00 a piece. Third party sites like Stub Hub, Vivid are showing roughly between 500 to 800 so I don't think I did horribly considering. Is it alot? Yes, Too much? Maybe, but I'm not taking any chances with this possibly being the last big tour. You live life once and have to take a chance sometimes. It's better than regretting not doing anything and whining about it.
  11. I almost fell over reading this lol. I saw Hooper in the theater when it came out. Hopefully it's a good copy and not just a cheap transfer.

  13. Wow about time to hit the road. http://i1307.photobucket.com/albums/s581/aussiemuscle308/Model%20Cars/Fanboys/fanboys1_zps99c3bb01.jpg
  14. Well, I went and listened to this recording again and no matter how much I repeat the process, TFE just doesn't get any better for me. At best I like parts of songs for some good sections mixed with ones I don't like. I have Vapor Trails on right now and It is so much better to me. I don't think anybody who defends TFE for their listening is wrong but it's not very good for me.

    "Chops Sawyer"

Just when you think you've seen it all......................
  16. He does wave and bow. Behind the safety of his drum kit. :) Maybe he should just arrive on stage on his motorcycle.
  17. Presto is still better than anything by Crötley Mu, KISS, Poison, Ratt, Anthrax, Duran Duran, The Police, Genesis, Bryan Adams... Ummmm no I like a few songs on Presto but it is a pedestrian album at best. I'm assuming your post was made to get attention but I'll play along I only need one song that's better than anything on Presto. http://vimeo.com/62530159
  18. I'm quite late on this but seriously, I'm not a drummer but have fooled around enough on a set to know that I can get a Bon Jovi song down with my eyes closed compared to Rush.
  19. I'd love to hear Nobody's Hero live, one of my favorite Rush songs, although my list is very large lol.
  20. This trip needs the story too. I saw Rush in San Jose CA 2012 Tour. My oldest son couldn't go with me since he was performing in his school musical. I was bummed he couldn't go but eventually hatched a plan. I had been wanting to see some family in Los Angeles and Avondale Az so I set it up to go to LA first, then drive with my son to Arizona to see my nephew for a night and see Rush. Needless to say it turned out to be a special trip.
  21. Life is all about moments and memories. When The San Francisco Giant's won the 2010 World Series I actually shed tears because I had thought that I would never see it happen. Forty three years of waiting made me appreciate the moment. With Rush we've been able to appreciate many great moments for decades. It's time to soak in one last grandiose tour, with a special appreciation for what we're witnessing. At the end of the show cheer loud and hard, bidding a "Farewell to Kings".
  22. I don't think this was the intention of "No Child Left Behind". http://memecrunch.com/meme/1N0HJ/no-child-left-behind/image.png?w=400&c=1
  23. I agree that the problem is people who paid for those seats. They need to lighten up. I had front row and some dudes poached the space between. They were cool, I could still see. The only guy that was douchey was a security guy who deliberately stood right in front of me to block my view. I flashed my pass and he moved, but it was still a dick move at that point in the show. I say uou get the first half of the show in peace, but when the lights go down the second time, there's gotta be leeway. It's rock and roll, after all. Your 'leeway' is another man's douchebag. Basically you're saying "I'm too cheap to pony for up front, but I'll gladly try and bully, weasel, or mooch my way up there on somebody else's coattails." Rock and roll has nothing to do with it. You're either a scab, or you're not. Seat crashers are the worst kind of concert scum. Worse than stage rushers. I see it in sporting events quite a bit. Of course in Baseball/Football there are often a lot of empty seats, even when sold out.
