  1. If you asked a million Rush fans for a set list, you'd get a million different set lists. We are lucky to be fans of a band that have crossed 5 decades and along the way produced many hours of material...some songs we love, some perhaps we don't enjoy so much. We can't love all albums equally surely. Variety is the spice of that etc. I'm one of a minority I think that doesn't think CA is the best album they've ever released (although it has its moments- and is musicianship is excellent) but I'm not going to slag off their set list. After all it's up to them what they play, and we're all entitled to our opinion about it.
  2. Maybe It's David Campbell who did the string arrangements?
  3. It's a really hard one to predict, especially as they won't even know. Alex is proably the one who could go on for longest from a physical point of view. Geddy's voice can't carry on for ever, and neither can the 3 hour physical work out keep going for Neil. Only my opinion but i think they'll do an R40 tour in 2014. A final Album in 2015. A final tour in 2015-2016. I hope not, but that's how I can see it panning out, and that's why I want to do all I can to see them in London next May....even if the tickets are very expensive...because you never know it might even be the last time!
  4. I noticed something the other day while looking through the pictures people have put up (Thanks a lot for that btw) On the first night of the tour the wording at the bottom of the things behind Geddy said BASSY BRAINY HORNY CORNY Now they've changed to BASSTIME BRAINIAC HORNTIME and not sure.. Any ideas why that would be? I know it's only a detail, but it's a bit strange isn't it?
  5. What a bunch of comedians us Rush fans are eh! Groucho: ...Columbus was sailing along on his vessel... Chico: On his what? Groucho: Not on his what, on his vessel. Don't you know what "vessel" is? Chico: Sure, I can vessel... [starts whistling]
  6. I don't think they will. They made mention of the '33' when they played Chile but that had only just happened. who knows?/..
  7. Well I'm sure we'd all come up with an infinite variation on what we'd like the set list to look like. Just a few thoughts. They may be holding back on 70s songs ready for a possible 2014 / R40 tour? (remember they play through to December, then do a few dates in May, so have plenty of time to rest before going out on the road again in 2014) I'm not a great fan of CA, but 9 songs did seem a little excessive from it. Loved all the 80s stuff in the first set...brilliant, although not sure subdivisions is a great one to actually start a show. What I've seen so far it looks like a fantastic show, but maybe the video clips aren't as good/funny as previous tours. Ged's voice was in fine form, but it's the beginning of the tour and hopefully it'll hold out until the end. I love Neil's farewell... right hand, left hand, right hand...off he runs to his bus having earned his petrol money! I look forward to seeing them in London in May... only 250+ days to go...lol That's just my thoughts
  8. One thing's for sure ... Alex didn't trigger the Tom Sawyer solo!
  9. I'd like to think he will still have a big band section at the end. Hopefully another track..and of course it then inspires us to go and check out some Big Band music when in the past we never would have thought of it.
  10. It's exciting stuff trying to decifer the out of focus music, and all the steam punk stuff.... it could be anything really if someone's come up with an arrangement for it, but seeing the number of repetitive bars of 'A's (assuming it's treble clef - if it's bass clef then those notes are very low!) I think it must be BU2B2. I don't think it's Red Sector A, as the pulsing bass which is the part this music could represent would sound a bit odd being played by strings. Plus it would be in cut-common time too. Just my opinion! MK Picture number 21 looks like a brain....so we could be in for some serious Hemispheres excerpts!
