  1. You have to remember Rushmantic.....You're not allowed to cast your opinion on this forum unless you agree with all the long time members.
  2. I've already been victimized
  3. It's an unertaining show.......in a an economy where entertainment dollars have to be spent wisely
  4. I've been giving advice to avoid this boring snoozefest for 8 months........
  5. Nobody can handle the truth....it's a boring show.....the song selection has too many stretches where people can fall asleep.
  6. Yeah. Get ready to be extremely disappointed. Setlist and energy sucks. Sound isn't getting better. Stay home and save the money.
  7. ....until this snoozefest of a tour is over
  8. Married with Children Seeker......and the Internet Troll description sounds more like a person of your ilk.
  9. I've learned that you can't tell the truth on this site. The latest tour is a borefest that belongs in a small theatre.
  10. Thank goodness Rush will be inducted in to the HOF and I can focus on something good.....rather than this boring snoozefest known as the Clockwork Angels tour. I'm hoping to convince my kids to watch the induction, but after I forced them to witness this lame mechanical show back in September, I will understand if they pass.
  11. A perfect night of sleep awaits you, Shail. It's called ..................The 2012 Clockwork Angels Tour You'll start feeling drowsy by the third song.......and a deep sleep will envelope you by Intermission.
  12. Save your money snowdogged........not only is it a weak set list.....the show in general is far below average. None of these guys will tell you the truth out of fear of making the band mad. That's why I'm here for you
  13. Circa 2040 What Rush concert tour was the least likable of all their tours? Answer: Clockwork Angels
  14. Unless they change the set list to include "ALL " Rush fans Attendance is sparse.....and audience participation is lukewarm at best.
  15. I took two pills three hours ago and woke up in 1980, and Rush was Rush, and they cared about what "all" the fans thought. They probably never envisioned a Rush Forum, where disciples would come and praise their every move, even when they made mistakes and played songs from their mostly forgotten era. Call the VFW and clear their calendar, book the Moose Lodge in advance, clear the DJ area at the American Legion, The 2012 Rush tour is coming to town, and it's bringing "The Body Electric"....not the electric slide. WTF Bring the real Rush next time you come back to Pittsburgh.
  16. Don't need a hug......I had to hug my two sons enough after the show to console them and try and convince them that Rush isn't really this lame. I just want it to be known that for every 100 folks who review each show in each city on this forum and "LOVED" it........there were 10,000.00 or so fans who left disappointed in it's lack of energy and enthusiasm(something Rush was always first rate at) If you are going to put a show together, make sure you realize that people are spending hard earned money in a bad economy to come and see it. Many are bringing their children, and the truth is, these"Rarities" would have received better reception if they had introduced them via some more familiar songs.
  17. and bill it appropriately so the "Working Man" can save his money Peace out The Troll, Ruffian, Scoundrel and whatever else the Post T4E rush "experts" want to call me.
  18. I'm sorry......I forgot that I have to Pet all you folks and share your opinion.
  19. For all the 10,000.00 fans on TRF that are elated with the bands set list decisions, there will be hundreds of thousand of fans not on TRF that are disappointed. Make no mistake hard core fans, the casual fans sitting next to you that you deem unworthy, are the ones that allow Rush to still play in arenas rather than theaters. 5,500 to 6,000 fans in Pittsburgh may soon become the norm on this tour rather than the exception. Like my opinion or not, the financial realities will soon set in.
  20. Dear Forum Some new rules. 1) Only post glowing remarks for the band's show, our low self esteem doesn't allow for any true debate. 2)Expect to be called a hater, a troll and a ruffian when you express your opinion. 3) Please pet the band profusely on the head and pat them on the back, even though the the same effort was not extended to you. 4)You will be judged on how many posts you had previously created. A person with less than ten posts on this forum couldn't possibly be a true Rush fan. 5) Please don't tell the band or mention on the board the fact that the mid-eighties was a mostly forgetful era. 6) Don't tell the fans that this was the most compliant and conforming period for the band, when they were trying on some levels....to match the beat of the third world man. 7) If the band chooses an operatic approach, please sit quietly on your chair, looking through your power window, and be appreciative of the chance to pay for your tickets. 8) Thank Rush at all times for their efforts. 9) Go along to get along. 10)Most Importantly, please pay your credit card bill on time.
  21. First off, at 6'2, I'm probably too tall to be considered a Troll, even though my kids loved this insult of me and will probably refer to me as such for years to come. It is true, I'm new to the forum, but in no way am I new to Rush. I've probably seen Rush 30 times over 35 years, but I can't recall an exact number at this time because I've taken a number of head shots from two young "ruffians" who cruise around my house looking for ways to injure their father...... In any event, I guess most of my review from last night has stirred the pot of anger here on the forum, and in retrospect, I apologize for being so blunt. The Disappointed looks on your kids faces will push you to say and do things you can never Imagine. After seeing so many shows over so many years, I never expected such a boring and lacking evening from the boys.......but I guess everyone sees it the way they want to see it. I'm sorry to have offended everyone with...........MY OPINION......but MY OPINION STANDS.........the show was a weak effort....and don't carry much expectation going to see it.
  22. No....based on the shows you are going too.....it sucks for you
  23. The memo is out and the Pittsburgh fans got it. With an embarrassing curtain around all the unsold cheap seats and a terrible ushering system that forced me to stand in an unwanted line to get "better seats", I missed the first two songs because rush apparently weren't aware most of there fans were faced with this inconvenience. If only I had refused the upgrade and went to the exits early. The chances missed in life............sigh. After going on a tepid run through rarities that left even their hard core fans a little stumped for an answer, the band thankfully adjourned for an intermission that allowed the bored and dreamy a chance to catch up on email. The break allowed for me to scan the crowd: a good mix of dumbfounded older fans with deep wonder in their eyes and young kids who were mesmerized and taken in by a time machine last time out, only to be hoodwinked in to the current set, that had them hoping that Madonna or Culture Club might appear suddenly and save them from such lameness. In the highly anticipated second set, the high paying customers were treated to a disorganized group of string players who looked good, and probably would have sounded better if the mixologist would have done his job with a bit more savvy. As new song after new song was force-fed to the "High-Paying" customers, many in the crowd took extended breaks in the restroom, figuring rightly that security might be better company. By the time the new songs were lodged in everyone's throats, some real hits were ready to roll. Like Manhattan Project and Red Sector A.... HUH? What a joke. To lull a sleepy crowd from their doldrums, a lazy, out of place and momentum lacking YYZ segued into an often repeated reggae version of a very tired Working Man. Tom Sawyer appeared, without any true swagger, and 2112 was performed like it was a motion a band has to go through. I can't tell you what the closing video contained, because when disgust sets in, it's better to exit and hope for a safe ride home. Inconsiderate. Lazy. Thoughtless. Words That I never associated with Rush. The set, the arrangement, the videos, all of it. I saw it in the faces of the young and the faces of the old as they high-tailed for the doors, the momentum gained with the Time Machine Tour was lost on the Clockwork Angels Tour. Spare me all the, "Rush has been around a long time, and they can do what they want" Now that's whining........... A set list like this could have been great, if only it would have been plotted instead of mailed in. Return to Sender. Bottom Line: This is a terrible show, go and see it at your own risk. Of course, If insomnia plagues you, I think I have your cure.
  24. All I have 2 tickets in section 103 Row A seats 3-4. Anyone interested?
  25. Like many, I am happy with the set lists, as they offer a little mix. The one minor complaint I have(and you guys and girls can call me right or wrong) 1) During the Time Machine Tour, all of my friends organized our young sons and daughters and took them to the show and they absolutely loved it. 2)Now, I think the kids will enjoy this new show, and as fathers we can encourage evolution, but the lack of familiar material might cause some attention span issues during the set. 3)I know, I know....all of you will say, "If they love Rush, they love Rush, period." but all of us parents know there is more to it than that. 4) I guess my "whine" would be, in a time when Rush seems to be resonating more with young fans, wouldn't it be better that they Navigate there era's by plotting the set list better? In any event, I enjoy therushforum and respect all opinions.
