  1. QUOTE (goose @ Sep 13 2012, 11:18 PM)Scars, Available Light Kid Gloves, Afterimage The Weapon Mystic Rhythms I agree... this would have made an great setlist!
  2. I don't know many venues outside the DC area, but at Sunday's show there is a VIP section which has tables in little boxed in areas. My seat was directly behind these tables and I saw that people had bags with the VIP swag. You might want to check seating charts to see if there are any areas labeled "VIP section." Not sure how many other venues have a designated area like this.
  3. These might be harder to reproduce... unless they happen to have Neil's graduation picture.
  4. After sitting through Mr. Big in 1992, I'm very thankful RUSH no longer has a band open for them. Bizarre coincidence- "Mr. Big" on liscense plate of car in Big Money video at same show. ...ONE MILLION DOLLARS!
  5. I snagged one fired off by Neil. I posted it HERE. Unfortunately it's a large and I take XL. I can't think of anyway to display that would show front and back. Maybe I should put it up on the trading forum. A few people walk out with one but I don't think you'd see anyone walking in with one. Hmmm....
  6. QUOTE (trenken @ Sep 10 2012, 08:35 AM) QUOTE (marlinsfan @ Sep 10 2012, 08:05 AM) 95% of the time when I have the radio on, I'm listening to RUSH. My 2 kids (4.5 and 6.5 years old) ask for songs by name every time they get in car with me. Some of their favorites: Passage to Bangkok (my train crazy kids all it Train Going to Bangkok), Closer to the Heart, Cindirella Man, Xanadu, The Garden. My older one (the boy) does not like it loud, but my younger daughter keeps saying LOUDER every time we are alone in the car. I have a kick-ass stereo in my car (any other way to listen to the boys?!?). I have tickets to go with friends to the NJ show on 10/20, and ever since my kids found out, my daughter has said she wants to go. I've talked to the wife about me taking my little girl to the 10/22 in Brooklyn, and she has not said no.... Now, is she too young? I have seen plenty of kids at shows in recent years, but none as young as my little girl. I'm sure she wouldn't last the entire show (her betdtime is 8 pm), so it would kill me to leave the show early, but I'm willing to do it. I also know it will be a battle to put earplugs in her ears. I should also mention, driving to Brooklyn is at least 1:20 minutes from my house. What do you all think? Tough one since they are so young with hearing still developing, but at the same time this may be the last chance they ever get to see them. I would say take them, but with ear plugs. It's borderline child abuse to expose them to that kind of noise for 3 hours. Not only that but you know they are going to get some good whiffs of weed during the show. Ive smelled it at every Rush show ive been to which is around 17 now I think. I sat next to a 10 year old at the DC show. He held up pretty well but it was funny hearing him ask his dad, "What's that smell?"
  7. Enjoyed the show very much but also was the first to pounce on this object launched out of an air cannon: http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d27/DJFunkyWill/IMAG0065.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d27/DJFunkyWill/IMAG0066.jpg They weren't selling this at the merchandise stand. Geddy wore one like this for the second set. I wonder if it's rare.
  8. So much of their stuff is better in concert than on the album. I tend to find deeper appreciation for their songs once I hear them live- i.e. Marathon on last tour. Can't really complain about the setlist until you've "experienced" the setlist!
  9. Perhaps this is a rebellion against their surge in popularity. Most definately a setlist a serious Rush fan could appreciate.
  10. I don't like the idea that their set may heavily influenced by what songs have string parts but I have faith that they'll make it great... and that's faith enough for me.
  11. After Roll the Bones I went away to college. I pretty much stopped listening. Two years ago a neighbor reintroduced me and I've been immersed ever since. I would guess 75% or more of the music I've played in my daily two hours in the car has been RUSH. At age 40 I'm appreciating RUSH way more than I did when I was 20. I can listen to their stuff over and over. Everytime I listen I discover something new. So back to the question... I've been immersed pretty heavily for a couple of years. The new album hasn't changed the amount that I listen.
  12. I kinda have a different situation. I'm going to the second show (DC) and would like a setlist to prep my wife. She doesn't know the whole catalog and I'd like to make sure she has heard the songs before the show. She enjoys the concert more that way. However, I don't want to know anything else about the show. Hopefully there is a place on here to get a setlist but no other spoilers. Knowing the setlist doesn't take away my enjoyment of hearing the songs performed.
