  1. Agreed. I'm in no way, shape, or form an expert on the subject. But I've read quite a few articles in the past on resurrecting old movie footage. There's basically 2 big issues: 1. Does the footage actually still exist? In the 2 main video sources of the time - film and tape - there are reasons for discarding either okind. 2. If it does still exist, what condition is it in? 30-year old source material would have to be significantly restored even if it was kept in the most ideal conditions. The cost is likely prohibitive since we're not talking about "The Godfather" or "Star Wars". We've seen over the course of time what even the most die-hard fan can complain about. You run a serious risk of charging good money for something - even as a throw in - that doesn't meet a reasonable quality threshold. That kind of stuff is better just to "leak" to the bootleggers (one would think) and let them put it out "as-is". Parenthetically, I might add that I always thought ESL was FILMED...
  2. Hey, if it wouldn't cost me $900 for a plane ticket, then it would be the deal of the century... ;D
  3. Stephane, did you check out this post here: http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?show...dpost&p=2760675
  4. Looks like the wife has had a change of and wants to go on the 14th. Would like a pair of front floors or lower loge in the front half. If you see anything around let me know. Post, PM, carrier pidgin... all good. [Maybe you bought 4 tickets and your friends flaked on you? Substitute them for a very fun American couple who are some huge fans!] Much appreciated!
  5. QUOTE (cdaddie @ Sep 24 2012, 10:53 AM) I'd prefer that they go to a fan first rather than to someone who is going to annoy everyone around them by making 2 or 3 beer runs in each set! +rep ;D
  6. Been to quite a few shows over the years, but sadly this is the only part of Hemispheres (including its appearance in the R30 medley) I ever got so see done live. If I have only one regret concerning Rush's set lists over the years it would have to be not being able to experience a larger chunk of this magnum opus. However, I'm of a like mind - especially when looking back at Ged's vocals 18 years ago - that it would be the impossible dream. I'm not even 100% sure I would *want* to hear Geddy try to do it at this point. I think it would just bum me out.
  7. They hire people to buy tickets and/or scout tickets and buy them from other resellers. When you get into that "super-secret for Rush fans only" pre-sale, you're in there with people whose job it is to snatch up those tickets for the brokers. And there are more of them then there are of you.
  8. QUOTE (rayrushray @ Sep 18 2012, 03:58 PM) and bill it appropriately so the "Working Man" can save his money Peace out The Troll, Ruffian, Scoundrel and whatever else the Post T4E rush "experts" want to call me. Good, I can feel your anger... It gives you focus, makes you stronger...
  9. Neil even mentions this in his books. There is always a 15 minute "hold".

  11. Interesting question. If you had shown me the setlist beforehand (well, you would have been my sworn enemy, but that's OT) I admit I would have had a WTF moment. But watching it unfold live was a totally different situation - it flowed so well. It only dawned on me what they DIDN'T play AFTER the whole thing was over. If I could have changed one thing, it would have been the encore. Ten minutes and two "hit songs" was sort of a dull close to an otherwise sensational evening.
