  1. A real bummer. I always thought of him as a very decent actor, even if he had to be in his brother's shadow. He actually did some decent parts.
  2. Yes, the lyrics are very corny. Gotta wonder how much of The MacAllan Neil had drank the night before writing this. I've never really liked the music much either, but that's because I usually find upbeat music to be irritating. Give me music that hits on base emotions like sadness or anger and I'm hooked. Dog Years, unfortunately, is too coy to be liked by me.
  3. 49. Korn 50. The White Stripes Isn't there a band named Blurr? referring to the blurred guy next to Alice.
  4. 46. Iron Maiden 47. White Zombie 48. I think the candies on the ground are supposed to be Eminem btw, Patty, if you are referring to the coin being Quarterflash, look closer; it is actually a half dollar, which is why I said 50Cent Anybody figure out what the two women necking is supposed to be? or the green eels on the ground, or the stegosaurus?

  6. Hey, didn't you see my thread on the same subject?
  7. I've seen a few episodes of Mind of Mencia now. He definitely doesn't pull any punches. 'Dee dee deeee'
  8. One I wanted to mention, but forgot to. Earth 2 Even though it only lasted one season, I thought it had a great story concept. Like 'wagon train of the future.' And the series started out with such a great villain as played by Tim Curry.

    jawk jaw !

Sadly, not enough people appreciate the texture of penguin livers fried on a hot sidewalk. One sniff and you can be sure you will be doing cartwheels through the opera halls.
  10. Spaceballs from my ex wife. For some reason she thought I really liked that movie. True, it is funny, but it's not one of my favorite films.
  11. I took my daughter to see it last Friday. She loved it. I gave her the entire set of books for Christmas also. I think she will always love and never forget that gift.
  12. (frequently repeated line) Jerry: Hello, Newman! Newman: Hello, Jerry!
  13. ESTELLE: Who told you you could have sex in our bed? GEORGE: (pleading) Well, my bed is too small. FRANK: Your bed is too small? I'm gone two weeks and you turn our house into, into Bourbon Street! ESTELLE: Where am I going to sleep? GEORGE: What're you talking about? ESTELLE: I can't sleep in there! GEORGE: Of course you can. ESTELLE: I can't! (screams) I can't! FRANK: That's it! You're grounded! GEORGE: (incredulous) You can't ground me, I'm a grown man. FRANK: You wanna live here? You respect the rules of our house. (yells) You're grounded!
  14. One I've always remembered, from The Pass Rebel without a conscience Martyr without a cause I know the first was based on the movie title "Rebel Without a Cause," not sure if there was ever a form of the martyr without... line or if that is his own creation.
  15. I remember they had a short featuring Scrat and one of his acorn mishaps on the Ice Age DVD. Quite funny.
  16. Isn't this based on a Wagner opera of the same name?
  17. That's one reason I find myself liking it also. Originally, I avoided it because I thought the premise sounded kind of hokey. After all, there's nothing real about reality tv. But then after I watched it, I realized just how much strategy, social interaction, and dramatic tension this show had. It's amazing the different types of strategies that are used, and no one is the right one. Different winners have used different strategies to go the distance from being a back stabbing heel (Richard - Borneo) to being a strong leader (Tom - Palau) to gliding under the radar (Sandra - Pearl Islands) to letting your ally do the dirty work (Amber - All Stars). Next season should be interesting with the Exile Island.
  18. spoiler I don't think she had any choice. Danni had succeeded in getting in good with Rafe, so he agreed to take her to the final 3. This was brought up when Lydia asked Steph at the final tribal council why Steph voted Lydia out when Lydia had been loyal the entire time. Steph did point out that Rafe would never vote for Danni, so the only thing that would have happened was a tie. Recalling a past season, Marquesas, I recall when a tie happened in the final four voting, the three remaining tribe members had to draw rocks. Pascal, who had not even received a vote the tribal council, drew the purple rock and was removed. I remember there were lots of cries of that being unfair as Pascal had not received a vote in the first place and he had the chance to win it all. The reason I bring this up is because I'm not sure if the rule was changed or not. I think it may have been because I seem to remember a tie in the final 4 voting happening in Palau between Ian and Jenn, which resulted in a first to make fire competition. So if Danni and Lydia had to face a tie, maybe Lydia could have stayed alive. Considering her performance in all the challenges (except the team immunity challenge with the catapults and the bean bags where she did a good job with the catapult), she probably would not have succeeded. I figured that once Danni and Cindy made it to the final 5, either one of them would have won. I will agree that Rafe was more likeable than Steph, but Danni and Cindy had done a better job of playing the game without betraying anyone. It was almost a lock that whichever of those two made it to the final 3 would win it all.
  19. also spoilers ahead Probably not. Something told me after Danni won that one immunity to stay in the final five, and was able to convince the rest of the tribe to take out Judd, she could win it all. All she had to do was get past the final 4 and she would be able to beat any of them, although the toughest opponent would have been Rafe or Cindy. She did what she had to do without tarnishing her own image severely and as a result, she outlasted.
  20. I was sad to hear this also. I know he hadn't been in the spotlight for many years because of his MS, but I remember seeing several of his films when I was a kid. I always felt he and Gene Wilder had an interesting chemistry, an ultimate "odd couple." His concerts were both uproariously funny and very frank, even with regards to his own shortcomings like his drug addictions. His monologue about his coke pipe talking to him was both funny and sad. Let me end with a punchline from one of his concerts that always had me rolling. Those who have seen this one will get it immediately. "'Well, Rich, it's clear you won't be doing any movies for Warner Bros. You wanna get this monkey's dick out of my ear, Rich?'"

    Clerks

Just got finished watching Clerks. aka part 1 of the Jersey Trilogy I have to admit the film is quite funny for its low budget appearance. Which goes to prove that good writing is what makes a movie. Of course the discussions between Dante and Randall are both funny and insightful. Gotta love Randall's theory about the destruction of the second Death Star being mass murder of innocent contractors. I figure eventually I will see the other movies in the Jersey Trilogy. Anybody else enjoy this flic?
  22. Of course one has to wonder why the aardvark had a New York Jewish accent. Rushengal, I bet you didn't know that even before it was the Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show it was the Bugs Bunny Road Runner Hour back during the '70s. I always loved the Road Runner cartoons. I know they are considered violent, but watching Wile E Coyote develop a complex plan or contraption to catch the Road Runner and then watching said plan fail disastrously was always a laugh riot. Not to say that I laugh at others' pain, I just knew it wasn't real. My favorite episode has always been the one where Wile E was trying to use a catapult to smash the Road Runner, but every time he fired the thing, he would get smashed. Finally, it is determined the catapult was manufactured by the Road Runner Catapult Co.
  23. I had to vote for Bravado. Alex's riff in this one is so memorable. It can make me smile and cry at the same time. The lyrics hold such a beautiful message as well. The live versions always sound so wonderful especially with their extended endings.
  24. I can't believe I forgot to put my two cents worth in. Originally, when I bought this album, I liked Subdivisions, but prior to listening to the whole album, the only songs I had heard from it were Subdivisions and New World Man. So after listening to the album, I found myself enjoying the catchy riffs of Chemistry and the metaphors of The Weapon. Losing It has a really powerful message, although the violin is a little unnerving. Unfortunately, Countdown just does not show much creativity. I know this album has significantly more keyboard in it than anything before or since, but I actually like that. But the one song I find myself repeating over and over without ever getting tired of is The Analog Kid. I enjoy the lyrics, especially in the bridge and the end. Too many hands on my time Too many feelings Too many things on my mind When I leave I don't know what I'm hoping to find And when I leave I don't know what I'm leaving behind I know it's been repeated many times, but it is one of my favorite of all Rush lyrics. What I really enjoy is the synth melody in the background during the guitar solo. It just provides a really haunting sound to the song. Ultimately, I have always seen this song as a message about trying to hold onto youth and dreams even as growing up and reality try to push in on our lives. btw, I have my own fawn eyed girl with sun browned legs.
  25. QUOTE (Test4VitalSigns @ Nov 26 2005, 10:56 PM) QUOTE (Arndrake @ Nov 25 2005, 07:48 AM) "I feel like Buckner walking back into Shea" That's from the awesome poker movie Rounders I figured I was the only one here who saw that movie.
