  1. Makes sense to me. Why not have a peace sign? seems a hell of lot more relevant/useful than many of the other emoticons here? While we are on the subject, why do only have a snowboarder emoticon and not one for skiers?
  2. http://tdrsmusic.com/musicpreviews.html heres another link to free buckethead music. check out the thanatopsis material for a completely different side of buckethead.
  3. QUOTE (Sticklah @ Jul 8 2008, 03:10 PM) I'm in canada so no tour for me. Yeah, he doesn't seem to make it up to Canada very often. Depending on where you are in Canada, the Buffalo show may be your best bet. Pretty sure the only show I have seen was all ages but you had better check on that before making any trip plans.
  4. QUOTE (Sticklah @ Jul 8 2008, 02:52 PM) I'm huge Buckethead fan. unfortunatley I don't have a creditcard being only 16 soI can't buy any of his albums. Theres tons of free buckethead to be had. if you join the buckethead.tk forum you can link from there to several rare downloads. Even better may be www.archive.org. http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=co...22Buckethead%22 theres 39 shows there to download or stream. Some shows are even in MP3 format, for those technologically challeneged folks like me.... The man is on tour now and with more dates added near me last week! 5. QUOTE (third hand grace @ Jul 7 2008, 12:07 PM) Greetings your Highness.... Where do you live that you can at least sometimes get it? Welcome to the club! btw, drank the last of the bombers at my 4th party. time to ration again until our August Myrtle Beach trip. Suprised they lasted that long!
  6. QUOTE (liquidcrystalcompass @ Jun 13 2008, 09:43 PM) Skynyrd!!!!! Life is so strange when its changin', yes indeed Well I've seen the hard times and the pressure's been on me But I keep on workin' like the workin' man do And I've got my act together, gonna walk all over you (chorus) Gimme back my bullets Put 'em back where they belong Ain't foolin' around 'cause I done had my fun Ain't gonna see no more damage done Gimme back my bullets Sweet talkin' people done ran me out of town And I drank enough whiskey to float a battleship around But I'm leavin' this game one step ahead of you And you will not hear me cry 'cause I do not sing the blues (chorus) Gimme back my bullets Put 'em back where they belong Ain't foolin' around 'cause I done had my fun Ain't gonna see no more damage done Gimme back, gimme back my bullets Oh, put 'em back... where they belong Been up and down since I turned seventeen Well I've been on top, and then it seems I lost my dream But I got it back, I'm feelin' better everyday Tell all those pencil pushers, better get out of my way (chorus) Gimme back my bullets Put 'em back where they belong Ain't foolin' around, 'cause I done had my fun Ain't gonna see no more damage done Gimme back, gimme back my bullets Oh put 'em back where they belong Gimme back my bullets That song that is not about guns, rather the bullets refer to the billboard charts. Their gun song was Saturday Night Special. One of my faves and the lyrics are oh, so true.
  7. QUOTE (tangy @ Jul 4 2008, 08:56 AM) QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Jul 2 2008, 08:45 PM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Jun 26 2008, 05:59 PM) I don't see Golden Ale on the Molson website. Do they not make it anymore? I don't think they do........mind you, I've never even heard of it........ Never heard of Molson Golden? Not a particulary good brew but relatively well known and I do beleive they still make it. I drank alot of it in College, but that was close to twenty years ago. The Molson website is pretty lame and at the bottom of their brands page, they do state "Molson also brews and distributes a number of other great beers which are not listed above". I am but sure they sell Molson Golden down here in NC. Now, if we could only get some Brador! Just checked, no Golden at the local store, probably replaced with Molson XXX. Maybe Golden is a thing of past?????

  9. All great players but just to mix things up a little I am going with Nick D'Virgilio. His work with Spocks Beard never fails to amaze. Not all that flashy but oh so tasty. His resume outside of Beard speaks for itself: Sessions Roland Orzabal, Peter Gabriel, Tears for Fears, Genesis, Kevin Gilbert, Sheryl Crow, Brand X, Ian Prince, Manhattan Transfer, Kyle Vincent, David Baerwald, The Rubinoos, Jennifer Love Hewitt Touring Tears for Fears, Mike Keneally, Jonatha Brooke, Eric Burdon, Spock's Beard, Kevin Gilbert, DeBarge, The Legends of Classic Rock w/ Spencer Davis-Glenn Hughes-John Cafferty-Mike Reno-Bobby Kimbal, Fates Warning http://www.ndvmusic.com
  10. Per MP: What a strange and unforgettable night! We weren't multitracking, but I do have a good live soundboard mix of the show, so an eventual L3E2 CD is imminent! (after the "real" LTE Live CD/DVD is released....yes indeed that will happening as well) MP http://www.mikeportnoy.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=2062225&mpage=4 Sweet.
  11. QUOTE (raygun47 @ Jun 27 2008, 08:54 AM) QUOTE (The Owl @ Jun 27 2008, 12:47 AM) For those who think LaBrie cannot sing. I just have 3 words for you. True Symphonic Rockestra Oh...he's great. But for a while he was not good. I believe he had an illness that effected his vocals...and they almost replaced him! It's in that book "Lifting Shadows Off A Dream." I wasn't at the Chicago LTE show (because I was supposed to be in Indy seeing someone)...then I have the Marcus show tonight...but I heard it was wild. There's youtube footage of the improv jams. I hear Jordan Rudess SHREDS on the guitar, and Charlie Benante came from the crowd and jammed with Portnoy on bass. That'll teach me...I never miss a Portnoy appearance until the 25th! Wow, there is all sorts of footage up on youtube. Sound is poor for most of them though. Still, what a jam. LTE3!
  12. Just listening to the crazy drumming during Nil Recurring when I came across the tidbit: "Gavin Harrison has been voted best progressive drummer of the year for the second year running in the highly respected Modern Drummer magazine reader's poll. Gavin also came second in the best recorded performance category for "Fear of a Blank Planet". You can find full results of the poll in the current (July 2008) issue of the magazine, which also includes a track by track feature of the FOABP album with several transcriptions, including the drum solo in "Way Out Of Here". http://www.porcupinetree.com/news.cfm#1572
  13. I read that things got a little interesting during the Chicago LTE gig last night. Apparently Jordans kyeboards completely crapped out and alot of the show was completely improvised and a version of Nightmare Cinema emerged. Apparently the guy from Anthrax played the drums, portnoy played bass and Jordan was playing guitars! http://www.mikeportnoy.com/forum/tm.aspx?m...25&mpage=1&key=

I still haven't bought Cyborg Slunks or Kevins Noodle House. They're definitely worth getting... I know they are. Have you heard the 3 new songs from GnR that leaked this week. Apparently there is some sweet acoustic work from Buckethead on "if the world". I haven't heard it yet as I have yet to figure the whole RAR file deal......

  17. f***ing great. The Ozrics make it over to the states and play like 4 or 5 dates total. At Wakarusa, 2 Colorado shows and Minneapolis? WTF. Real disappointing. Anyways the reviews have been good and they have a new DVD out which I will be picking up soon. short trailer at this site below http://www.snappermusic.com/ms/ozrictentacles/

  20. so many tasty possibilities........ Molson Brador comes to mind as does John Labatts Extra Stock.
  21. Not defend to Fox but not just them. Ever watch a football game with a kid? First off you are typically bombarded with commercials for three different errectile drugs. Call your doctor if you experience a errection lastig more than 4 hours. Then its the violent snippets from the networks show, which typically involve a gun or talk of death. Even better now they are running Vagisil commercial during kids programs on i think the cartoon network. After a commercial belaboring the embarrasing smell and persistent itching down yonder, my son asks me what is that commercial for? Boy was that a fun discussion.
  22. QUOTE (Did Lee Squat? @ May 21 2008, 04:00 PM) QUOTE (sullysue @ May 21 2008, 10:43 AM)QUOTE (deadwing2112 @ May 20 2008, 08:06 PM) QUOTE (Soni @ May 19 2008, 10:54 AM) QUOTE (Did Lee Squat? @ May 19 2008, 12:04 AM) OK I just bought Fear of a Blank Planet (my first PT album) the other day on a whim and after several listens I'm pretty dang impressed. I've only got one question: Are all of PT's albums as dark and gloomy as FOABP? It just ain't a very happy album and I find it a bit depressing. well yes, you have some "happy" songs on Deadwing, Stupid Dream and, Lightbulb Sun, but not buch. (Great album huh? Most of them probably are all pretty depressing. Steven Wilson said he finds gloomy, depressing songs to be the most beautiful. I have been on a big PT binge lately. Listening to In Absentia right now. ps. Any rumors or word on a new album yet? I doubt we'll hear any news on a new CD for a while. They're still touring Spain (I think) supporting FoaBP. I would think it'll probably be next year before they start on a new one. As for the "depressing" aspect of their music: Yeah, the lyrics and overall tone lean towards dark and bleak. But, you have to remember, as it's been mentioned already, that Wilson has said he does his best writing when he's depressed. It's his emotional outlet. After seeing him interviewed a couple of times and hearing his tone on We Lost the Skyline, I don't think he's an overall negative person. A little uppity and self-absorbed, yes. But, not the basket case you'd expect. My latest PT listening jag has been with Stupid Dream. My kids finally demanded that I put another CD in the player in the van. Thanks for answering my question. I understand now what you guys are saying regarding Wilson being a bit on the dreary, depressing side, but yes, even so the man can write a damn fine song, so more power to him. BTW I just got Deadwing yesterday and it's AWESOME! It sure is. Great disc all the way through......
