  1. How is Row J the front row??? Also, isn't there an entire section between the VIP section and 204? jiffy lube live seating Another warning to anyone considering this purchase: IMO, this venue absolutely SUCKS!!!!! I saw the Time Machine tour here, and the sound was mediocre and it took me almost two hours to get out of the parking lot because they only opened one single exit after the show. If you have your choice between Jiffy Lube and any other venue, I recommend avoiding Jiffy Lube. :finbar:
  2. NO. For the 18 milliionth f*cking time. No one is suggesting to get rid of anyone. But your all for having another singer? Have you read any of my posts??? At all??? YES. And the band would still be the same. (Where have I heard that before). My suggestion was simply to bring a singer on tour (only), to sing a few older songs that Geddy apparently can't sing any more. And Geddy would still sing most of the songs.(I know I've said that at least three times already). Geez. Is it ever possible to have a casual speculative conversation here without half the population (who apparently don't even bother to read the previous posts) getting unduly upset and treating their own viewpoints as common fact? I think not. :outtahere:
  3. I would be perfectly happy with that. I have suggested this myself many times, and I'm sure many others have also. But I would only want this to happen if Geddy actually wants to play songs like Cinderella Man, which I suspect he doesn't. The songs won't sound very good if Rush are playing them just to make the fans happy and their hearts aren't really into it.

  5. Take that cotton out of your ears. :) What´s that suppose to mean? You are listening through rose colored ears... Would you go see them live with another singer? I wouldn't. would you? When hell freezes over!! :geddy: :geddy: :geddy: Well I disagree. I love Rush, and I will go see them if they tour no matter what. I like Rush so much that to me, there are basically two kinds of music in the world: Rush, and everything else. I would gladly welcome the addition of another singer on tour, for the simple fact that it would enable them to play some great old songs that Geddy struggles with at this point, and it would also preserve Geddy's voice for the newer songs, which he would still sing himself. But I can view the big picture well enough to know that it doesn't come down to ME and what I want. As much as I really want Rush to add some of my favorite songs to their setlist, if it isn't what they want to do, I don't want to see it. I've learned over the years that the songs that sound best on tour are the ones that Rush really enjoy playing. So what I'm hoping is that Rush decides that they really want to play some great old stuff and their hearts will really be into it. And if that means adding an extra singer on tour I'm perfectly OK with that. I haven't really liked a setlist in a long time, but I still go to multiple shows on every tour. I'm not so selfish as to say that if Rush doesn't accommodate my personal feelings and preferences that I will scoff at and/or abandon them. The bottom line is that no matter what approach Rush takes to the upcoming tour - added singer or no added singer/old songs or all new material/instrumentals or no instrumentals - I will not miss any opportunity I get to see the greatest band that ever lived. If you would I'm sorry for you… but happy that I'll have an easier time finding good tickets, A different singer means seeing a different band. ;) :rush: Well what band was it we saw on the Clockwork Angels tour? You know… the one with orchestra added. It couldn't have been Rush, because it was more than just Geddy, Neil and Alex. Should we file a class action lawsuit against them for misrepresenting themselves as Rush?

Not the die hards that's for sure. So the fans who die more easily are the die hards, eh?
  7. Ged could sing the first and third parts of the Necromancer, but not the second. Also, if you have By-Tor as a good guy and a bad guy in the same song, the universe explodes. :laughing guy: :laughing guy: :laughing guy:

  9. I wouldn't say "given," my last few Rush concert tickets have been rather expensive :D As to the thread question, a new younger singer will never happen. I do agree that Ged's voice is getting worse, I can't imagine them even doing two more tours. And while I'm complaining, they should drop the intro/outro videos, they haven't been funny or entertaining in any way since Jerry Stiller was in them. Leave comedy to the professionals! Jerry Stiller isn't funny. And if Rush ever passed the lead singer baton to someone else, I wouldn't bother. Of course I ditched Marillion after Fish left, too. Moot point anyway since the band have said themselves - several times - that if one retires then Rush is done. Jerry Stiller isn't funny? Actually, that makes you funny for saying that. It's okay, not all people understand comedy. Do you have a website where you review comedy TV shows and comedy movies? If so, then I would like to visit it so I know that I can choose the opposite of whatever you recommend. Hey man. I KNOW FUNNY!!! http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd499/FLY_IGGLES_FLY/kirby-1024x555.png
  10. Just for clarity, no one is suggesting getting rid of Geddy. Not sure where that misconception originated, but it couldn't have been from any of the original posts in this thread. Some of us just think it would be a great idea to take an additional singer on tour this year to enable the band to play some of the great old tunes that so many of us would love to see.
  11. A bit harsh.. I don't feel it is selfish in any way.I think it goes without saying that the guys themselves would have to want to do it. I mean to say that it could be a possibility in the same way as it worked for Journey...a band also in their 60s. They wanted it to happen but this is only a hypothetical thread in any case. Ask yourself this if Geddy lost his voice entirely and the guys found a new singer would you go to the show? I know I would and that doesnt make me any less of a fan, First of all, my post wasn't directed at you specifically. You aren't the only fan that will take them any way they can. Secondly, don't put words in my mouth. I am the last one to rate your status as a fan around here. But, no worries, plenty others will. Third, no. I wouldn't go see them if they got a new singer because they would no longer be Rush. I didn't mean to put words in your mouth and I assumed you were referring to me as I started the thread but I see now you were just making a general comment. Apologies. As for it not being Rush any more well with the boys still playing their instruments to me it would still be Rush but obviously in a different incarnation, we will agree to differ on that point! I am old school but on this point I would probably agree. As long as those 3 are on the stage playing I am good with it and would go. An additional "player/singer" or just singer wouldn't kill me at this point.... I completely agree with this. Would it be a little different? Yes, but Rush would still be Rush as far as I'm concerned. I think it would be great if they brought in a singer to tour with them who can sing the older material I've been dying to see for so many years. And that doesn't mean Geddy would be retiring. He will still be the best rock bass player on the planet, and will be able to focus entirely on his musicianship, which will be awesome. And of course he could sing some of the newer material which would end up sounding better since his voice would stay in better shape. I also believe that at least some of the folks who say they'd never want to see Rush with a new singer would change their minds once they start touring. I for one would never miss a chance to see Rush…
  12. Like I already said in another thread: "Well this just confirms what we already had very good reason to believe was the case. Remember… Alex auctioned off a meet and greet for a future Rush show at a charity event back in November. Now it seems that all that remains is an official announcement. My confidence level just went from 98% sure to 99.9% sure that a tour announcement is imminent. WOOHOO!!!!!!!" :haz: :Alex: :Neil: :geddy: :haz:
  13. Or maybe it wasn't an accident at all.. could be that Mr. Ray Danniels (if that's REALLY his name) is in cahoots with TicketBastards to drum up as much excitement as possible prior to the official announcement.

  15. Happy Birthday KennyLee! Looking forward to January 3rd at the Queen Theater! :geddy:
  16. Right on the money! Loved The Main Monkey Business and "De Slagwerker as well! :geddy: :haz: :ebert: I freakin' love The Main Monkey Business. Best instrumental in a long time. and it smoked live. Mick Totally agree with you!! The Main Monkey Business is fabulous. The only Rush instrumental I like more is La Villa. Yes, I know. I will get a lot of "What!? You like it more than YYZ??". Yes I do. Frankly I am not a huge fan of YYZ. Its ok, just nothing special. Main Monkey Business is really good. I agree, YYZ is incredibly overrated Well you guys are surely entitled to your opinions, but I, for one, whole-heartedly disagree. YYZ is one of my all-time favorites. :haz:
  17. :tsk: You will NEVER be the only person who does or doesn't like any Rush song.
  18. Right on the money! Loved The Main Monkey Business and "De Slagwerker" as well! :geddy: :haz: :ebert: Oops, I thought "De Slagwerker" was another name for Malignant Narcissism (hence the pic of Geddy), but I just figured out it is actually the drum solo.
  19. You can say that again! Oh wait… you already did… :D
  20. Right on the money! Loved The Main Monkey Business and "De Slagwerker" as well! :geddy: :haz: :ebert:
