  1. Single ladies is a solo track. i hear what your saying i was never into her for years. then like i played her self titled album. i went woah a lot of this is Prince influenced and it just clicked. Lemonade is a really really good album too it covers multiple genres and styles and really shows that she's a student of music. I dunno if i'll ever call her a fav...like i just praised lemonade but i remember people flipped over that record like Jesus came back. and it's a good album but Beyonce not the only one to make a genre bending album, lol seriously lemonade is enjoyable but nothing to cream yourselves over. I have more respect for her though. Mick
  2. Ok so some of you will go but when have i cared bout y'all, lol Beyonce (new fian...first initial ranking subject to change) 1. Beyonce (self titled) 2. Cowboy Carter (eye roll all ya want Segue, lol) 3. 4. (not 34 the album's called 4, lol) 4. Lemonade 5. Sasha Fierce 6. Dangerously in Love 7. Renaissance 8. B'day She is way better than mindless pop she has real depth. Mick'
  3. I've been saying this since 2012. songs lack any memorable hooks. it sounds like shit. Hamfisted story. but everyone DROOLS over this mess. lol. Mick
  4. Beyonce Self Titled (9/10) Renaissance (6/10) Cowboy Carter (8/10) I've been dipping into her more. it's easy to call this woman crazy egotistical and pandering. all of which are valid. but THERE is a serious artist and artistry to her that i do see. Self titled was my fav so far. it was very prince like. hyper sexual sensual r nb and i LOVED it. Cowboy carter is her "country" foray. Segue just to illustrate......HATES THIS. we talked and he was comically dismissive. but i understand. i however was wholly charmed and won over from note one unironically so. it's not perfect. but it's one of my fav listens of the year so far. Renaissance was ok. not great. there are some really great 70's retro moments but it's bogged down by too much fluff. Mick
  5. Tom Sawyer (This one i liked.....never loved) Red Barchetta Closer To the Heart (again it's alright. Most of Clockwork Angels (ya knew it was coming, lol) I went Popular with fans cause aside from Tom Sawyer Rush has never been popular in my country with non-fans (at least while i was coming of age) Mick
  6. yea but it's not just that song for me. i find this album incredibly generic. You know that's a criticism of Toto in general people have that they're faceles and generic. i think this album just gives into that tenfold. so many tracks here are rockers and ballads any ol artist could have done. also i can't handle bobby Kimble on this album AT ALL. every song has the same adlib........HEY--YEA----YEA!!!!!!!!! or OH-OH-YEA!!!!! shut up dude!!!!! not a great record. Mick
  7. Joni Mitchell-For the Roses (10/10) The precursor to Court & Spark. LOVE this album. Mick
  8. Joni Mitchell Ladies of the Canyon (10/10) Blue (9/10) Mick
  9. I'm gonna do Joni Mitchell 1. Hejira/Court & Spark (yes a tie couldn't Choose between thes two) 2. Ladies of the canyon 3. Hissing of Summer Lawns 4. For The Roses 5. Clouds 6. Blue 7. Turbulent Indigo 8. Song For A Seagull 9. Don Juan's Reckless Daughter I'm seperating here cause the last 8 get meh. the 80's and on beat her up IMO. aside from 1 album. (Turbulent Indigo) 10. Wild Things fast 11. Night Ride home 12. Taming The tiger 13. Travelouge' 14. Chalk Mark In A Rainstorm 15. Shine 16. Both Sides Now 17. Dog Eat Dog 18. Mingus. Yea i love her though 1979. I merely like her in the 80's and 90's. Though Turbulent Indigo is amazing from 1994. her 2000's stuff is her legacy artist era and it's mostly bland. Mick
  10. Joni Mitchell- Court & Spark (10/10) I go back and forth Between this and Hejira as my fav. This album is fantastic. I just just LOVE how Joni weaves her lyrics. I can see every scene she's describing in my head as she sings. Something i think Taylor Swift THINKS she does but not really. She actually used to do the painting pictures with words better as a younger 20 something. Also Fleet Foxes must listen to a lot of Joni cause CLEARLY to me they get their layered harmonies from her. they're near identical. Mick
  11. Goodbye. never got what he had coming. I was 9 when it happened. i went to a daycare basically for handicapped kids and i remember on the tv they had the bronco chase on. with all us kids there. Slowest chase ever i rember thinking lol. Mick
  12. oh i'll always agree with nirvana bashing Mick
  13. Periphery (all their albums are numbered but for this list i'll write their subtitles 1. Hail Stan 2. Select Difficulty 3. Djent is Not A Genre 4. Juggernaut Alpha/Omega (released as two separate albums but follow one story.....so it's one album to me) 5. Periphery (debut) 6. This Time It's Personal. For those not familiar Periphery is a prog/metal band. BUT they combine pop and RnB in their sound. I've been obsessed these guys are good. REAL good. just to say this. i ranked them but i really like every single album. this is just my personal preference order. I put them up as a fav Prog/metal band now. Mick
  14. I'm iffy on DoT it's just got to many songs i do not like. Pale Blue Dot being one of them.......it kinda goes nowhere at like over 8 minutes, lol Mick
  15. this is me too. i have a fairly big collection that i'm proud of but it's all for show. .well at least they never get scratched now, lol Mick
  16. listen to how laszy i am. i listen on the go too..........BUT i'll still be at home with a CD player and my joni boxset and still just cue up spotify. i just have gone all digital with listening now. Physical media people will be all disgusted but......you do you, lol Mick
  17. yay. now you can properly enjoy her now that the old bitch is like "well i guess i'll let the kiddies listen on the liver spotify or whatever that contraptions called. Mick
  18. to be fair to TRF i have like metal amnesia. every time i'm not playing it i forget it exists. now you think that's a joke but it's really not. My brain everytime is like...."oh let me try this metal every one speaks of. bet it's not that good" ALSO to YOUR point........yea guys i do like metal..........jeez i'm not some caveman, lol. i think people just think of me as an AOR bitch i'm not kidding when i say i do forget metal though . i dunno know if it speaks to the genre or me. lol Mick
  19. i fukking love Periphery. they were one of the first bands i got into when i learned to like screamed and harsher vocals but they are awsome. like this prog-y djent-y melodic mush and i love it, lol Mick
