  1. If the production were better, I could include Clockwork Angels If I had included a classical album, it would hav ebeen either Holst's The Planets or Dvorak's New World Symphony
  2. In alphabetical order: Beatles - Revolver Billy Joel - Songs from the Attic E.L.O. - A New World Record Joni Mitchell - Court & Spark Judas Priest - British Steel Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti Moody Blues - Days of Future Passed Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon Vangelis - Heaven & Hell Yes - Close to the Edge I know! No Rush! Although Rush has a dozen albums I completely adore, each has a tiny flaw (even if that flaw is that I'm sick of some of the songs). I could easily add AFTK or Hemispheres or PeW or MP or PoW or CA. But those top 10 I find flawless. I couldn't include Black Sabbath's Heaven & Hell, Badfinger's Wish You Were Here, Genesis' Trick of the Tail, Iron Maiden's Powerslave, Al Stewart's Year of the Cat... Someone shoot me.
  3. That was a perfect spot for a Rick Roll. Thanks for that teen feauxmetal, though... :(
  4. As I found out before, the map shows state-by-state, which artist has the most disproportionate popularity vs. the national average. So, if Joe Smegma is googled twice per year, per capita, nationally, but 25 times per year per capita in Idaho, he "wins" Idaho (because he's 13.5 times more popular in Idaho than he is nationally), even though say, Lady Antebellum gets googled 10,000 times per year in Idaho (vs. a national average of 5,000) and is only twice as popular as average.
  5. Yeah, i posted this 2 months ago. http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?/topic/86812-states-favorite-bands-delaware/
  6. Queen's 'Sheer Heart Attack' song is not on the 'Sheer Heart Attack' album. If You Want Blood... is not on the AC/DC album of that name. Neither was High Voltage (originally). Def Leppard's song On Through the Night is not on the album of the same name, but on the following album, High and Dry. They planned to do a song called High and Dry for the Pyromania album, but forgot.
  7. Did he drive his Aston Martin into a birch tree?
  8. is someone secretly compiling these lists?
  9. I know Run of the Mill. Love it. I may have "suspended" my beliefs once earlier to get 3 tracks off of Rocka Rolla (but I used a Ukrainian music seller. It made me feel better!) Thank you for posting Dying to Meet You. Excellent track. FYI: I have Run of the Mill, the title track and Cheater. Great, great and great.
  10. Originally I had the two epic songs from Rocka Rolla, Dying to Meet You and Run of the Mill in the set, but I decided to drop them, I wasn't sure how they'd sound in an updated form. I remember that. I love Dying To Meet You. It's a brilliant tune. "Synchronised watches flash in the sunlight...." Aye!! :haz: Actually they may do something like this, I heard that they are planning something this year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of Rocka Rolla. So either they've bought out Gull records and will do 40th anniversary editions of Rocka Rolla and Sad Wings, or a special live album or do some Rocka Rolla tunes live. Or maybe something else altogether. That would be most welcome news. I have avoided buying Rocka Rolla just to prevent those bastards at Gull from getting a single penny from me. What about Sad Wings of Destiny? I always thought it was just the first album. Damn. Well, the greatness of SWoD would have caused me to "suspend" my principles so i could own the album, regardless.
  11. Saw it in a Starbucks and was confused. Thanks for shedding light on the matter.

  13. That was priceless! Especially the Nickelback vs. Nickelback mashup. *trying not to feel ashamed that I like Prog*
  14. He had one big crossover hit called "Driving My Life Away". Eddie also loves a rainy night. http://youtu.be/ebt0BR5wHYs
  15. I have a couple of Aimee's albums. Bachelor #2 is fooking brilliant. I saw her live in Boston. She didn't like doing between-song banter, so David Cross told jokes while they band set up for their next song. Awesome. Also, I saw that jacket (or a variation thereof) practically every day in junior high (early '80s). Memories...
  16. Rock outside the box. Prog bands use fresh approaches to using instruments, song structures, album themes, lyrics, time signatures, etc. They often explore sounds from genres besides blues, especially folk, jazz and classical.
  17. Oh, it's memorable. Takes a little longer to absorb because of the length. If you're impatient, you can skip past the short tracks for a few listens, but later, those short songs will help you to digest such a long album.
  18. Here's a spot in Cary, NC. Near Orbison Way and Marsalis Way. https://www.google.com/maps/@35.839873,-78.914316,3a,15y,114.33h,88.36t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s0P-f5B9Vt71zgOLk7whwZw!2e0
  19. That's one of the cutest houses I've ever seen.
  20. The students loved the movie and the discussion. Not surprising, right? \m/
  21. Many things sung by Dio. He had a way of squeezing more choruses into the fadeout where he would change the melody. Makes you wonder how many good hooks he had up his sleeve.
