  1. QUOTE (cdollaz @ Jun 7 2012, 04:04 PM) Meh, I'd rather have Signals, Grace Under Pressure, or Power Windows front-to-back. The new one doesn't do much for me. All of Farewell to Kings, Permanent Waves, or Hemispheres would be insane also.
  2. Only complaint....There aren't an infinite number of songs to listen to.
  3. QUOTE (presto123 @ Jun 7 2012, 02:33 PM) QUOTE (ShlappinDahBass @ Jun 7 2012, 02:28 PM) QUOTE (presto123 @ Jun 7 2012, 02:26 PM) I thought I heard that CA is streaming on Rush's official Facebook page. Do they have an official Facebook page? They do have an official page. But, it's only the full song of just Clockwork Angels. Not the whole album. Is that a link to spotify at the top of the page? I don't know anything about spotify. Nope! Not to spotify. Just to another RUSH Facebook link with the MP3 player awaiting you to start the song.

  5. QUOTE (metaldad @ Jun 7 2012, 02:15 PM) QUOTE (Animate @ Jun 7 2012, 02:13 PM) FYI: Rush Radio is playing the Anarchist. If they have it, it must be legit Pretty exciting hearing a song I dont recognize on RR. Radio stations have gotten it. Eddie Truck [asshat] is playing new songs on his show Friday night. It is everywhere now Is Clockwork Angels actually that popular right now? That a ton of radio stations are playing their songs? I have not heard anyone talk about it except for me and all of TRF. If it is that popular, that makes me a very happy camper.
  6. I had to cave.....I had to. I feel like a failure. BU2B isn't working for me thus far, though. Bummer.
  7. QUOTE (English Muffin @ Jun 7 2012, 10:59 AM) QUOTE (Gilbertk @ Jun 6 2012, 02:10 AM) QUOTE (New Digital Man @ Jun 5 2012, 01:13 PM) I really would advise not too start copying Geddys later 'flamenco' one finger style of playing especially if you're a beginner as it's a lazy way of playing that won't stand you well in playing other styles of music in other bands and it will dominate your playing as it does now with Geddy and in my opinion doesn't work well on Rush's older material! Play with your fingers, use a pick or both, just don't do the flamenco thing, it's not cool! It's a technique that allows for some really cool sounds and chordal work. It's not "lazy".. it takes a lot of strength and control. Agreed, whilst some of the earlier stuff doesnt sound as good with the '1 finger' technique, it is actually very difficult to play consistantly. I've been playing for years now and it KILLS my arm to play like that for any long period of time. It's such a rewarding feeling, though.
  8. QUOTE (D3strukt @ Jun 7 2012, 01:30 AM) Haven't seen the video, but meme time. A CHALLENGER APPEARS! The Garden Guitar Solo. If it was featured, I suck. Haha, it wasn't! I'm listening to Clockwork Angels for my first time right now. I'm only half-way through Caravan right now! I am SO excited to hear the Garden. Just by listening to the samples, it sounds like a biblical experience.
  9. QUOTE (Workaholic Man @ Jun 6 2012, 01:16 PM) My host family in Normandy haven't forgotten anything. 80% of their city (Caen) was destroyed in the D-Day invasion.......and they are still very grateful to the Allies for removing the Nazis. We should never forget the necessity of the Invasion, as well as the Allied defeat of the Nazis. No matter how old or young we are, we do owe our freedom to the Allies of 70 years ago. Hard to believe it's creeping up 100 years.
  10. QUOTE (priest_of_syrinx @ Jun 6 2012, 12:10 PM) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1GadTfGFvU LOL. Classic N. Cage scream.
  11. QUOTE (Rush Cocky @ Jun 6 2012, 11:28 AM)QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Jun 6 2012, 11:35 AM) It didn't happen in your lifetime so you don't understand why we should remember it?! As was said in another thread recently: whiskey tango foxtrot? Logic here: how can I remember what I never personally experienced? That was really the point. The logic in it is that we have learned and heard stories about it. When people say "don't forget" or "remember", they're saying do not lose the memories/facts of the people who risked their lives for us. I mean, if it weren't for them...Where would we be without ??
  12. And it doesn't matter if it's in the history books, if we lived it, or what not. We will never forget.
  13. Time to pop in Band of Brothers. Never forget what our people did for us this day. And the whole war in general.
  14. Have you guys ever thought of the fact that they love making and playing music for us/themselves?
  15. Nick conducting Neil was one of the most hilarious things I have ever seen. He has so much spirit and energy. I love this guy.
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v92C7Ubuwtw...=0&feature=plcp If you haven't already, check out this video of some of Alex's greatest solos. From some of my favorite songs, as well. It's amazing how this man can conjure up these sounds from a guitar. Absolutely brilliant musicianship.
  17. I haven't heard it yet! Gah, it's soooo within my grasp. I can almost hear it...Only just a few more days!!!
  18. I just started getting into bass playing a few months ago and I find Limelight and Tom Sawyer to be pretty fun. I usually pop in the Time Machine or Snakes and Arrows live DVDs and play along to those shows (even if I'm not playing the correct notes) just to toughen up my fingers.
  19. I ordered the Fan Pack (which is on its' way right now!) and am thinking about purchasing the vinyl as well. Be my first vinyl purchase.
  20. Thank you all and for your witty "Shlappin" comments.
  21. Mine will have to be Working Man. That song is far too wicked when played live.
