  1. QUOTE (IChoseFreeWill @ May 20 2012, 05:32 PM) Why do people hate Dog Years so much? I find it cute and funny. Not to mention rather optimistic. It is basically saying that dogs have a happy afterlife! That, and I love the pun in it. Would be the coolest audience participation ever Otherwise, I like Driven a lot. It may objectively be my favorite song in T4E, even though I have a very big soft spot for Dog Years. yeah, and we get to hear Geddy say "son of a bitch"!
  2. I must have watched R30 dozens of times since it was released, but I just noticed something today... after the drum solo when Geddy & Alex are coming out to play Resist, Geddy motions to one of the camera operators to "get down" lol. I guess he thought they were being too conspicuous. Another one I've noticed is on the Time Machine DVD where Geddy appears to flip someone off during Tom Sawyer. Anyone else make any observations like this? Yes I have too much time on my hands.
  3. If you're against the idea of a Rush cover album, why bother posting?
  4. It's a good album, but I really hate Neil's drumming style on this one. I know he was trying something new, but it doesn't work with Rush's music. From a drumming standpoint, it's a very boring album.
  5. I have all four of them, and I honestly can only tell a slight difference on T4E. The rest of them sound identical to the original releases. Then again, I listen to my music on an iPod, not an expensive stereo system... so that might have something to do with it.
  6. QUOTE (drbirdsong @ Apr 28 2012, 11:57 PM) When the remasters first came out in 1997 there was some interest based on the fact that the sound varied greatly on those four albums. If you tried to make a 90s compilation of Rush from those CDs you could always tell what songs came from what album. The remastered versions were all about the same level of loudness. The only one that might have benefited from the 97 remastering was Test For Echo. Any version that you get of those four is not terribly noticeable. the 97 remasters only included Rush - Hold Your Fire. The Atlantic remasters did not come out until 2004.
  7. They're the best, any true Rush fan would buy them. I do have one question though... is the Sectors version of Moving Pictures the same as the CD version that was released with the Blu-Ray? I have both, and something sounds "off" to me when I try to compare them.
  8. QUOTE (CruisingInPrimetime @ May 16 2012, 08:05 PM) New Rush is better than classic Rush. Snakes and Arrows is the best album they've released. I'm sure the boys would agree. Is it opposite day?
  9. I don't understand people who go into online forums and then complain about spoilers. That's like going into the ocean and complaining that I'm wet.
  10. QUOTE (Khan @ May 15 2012, 12:44 PM) Came out 10 years ago. 10 years + 1 day ago it got flung out the car window... somewhere there's a landfill full of S&A CDs that were flung out of car windows in 2007
  11. I remember picking it up at Best Buy and listening to it on the way home... still one of my favorite Rush albums! Hard to believe that was 10 years ago.
  12. QUOTE (losingit2k @ May 13 2012, 12:55 PM) QUOTE (CantStopThinkingBig @ May 13 2012, 12:49 PM) Classic Rush = positive, upbeat lyrics New Rush = I hate God/religion/Christians, the world sucks Yet your Avatar Name comes from One of those New RUSH songs! How Ironic? Contradicting Even! I think you miss the whole point of the concept. It's about a positive, yet Naive man in a less than positive world. lol true, with "New Rush" I choose to focus on the music rather than the lyrics

  14. I watched the entire season, it isn't a great show but it's entertaining. I'm a little disappointed that it appears to be cancelled now. Especially with that cliffhanger ending...
  15. he's at the age where he looks too ridiculous to be taken seriously as a musician/rock star... so it's time to sell out to American Idol and BK
  16. That's one of my favorite Geddy bass lines... it gets stuck in my head often
  17. QUOTE (deslock @ May 12 2012, 07:08 PM) My opinion after 200 listens is even better: It tops Subdivisions and maybe Limelight too.
  18. QUOTE (ThinkingBig @ May 11 2012, 12:21 PM) Good Times, Bad Times - LZ I remember reading somewhere that they had originally planned to include this song on Feedback, but changed their minds at the last minute.
  19. trying to make a connection of a clock facing possibly/possibly not reading 9:11, and the date September 11th is absurd. Somebody needs to slap the OP
  20. I think both songs suffer from bad production on the album versions. WMT is too thin, not enough "balls"... and Limbo has almost the exact opposite problem, too heavy and muffled. I think they would both sound fantastic live.
  21. QUOTE (rushgoober @ May 9 2012, 10:45 PM) QUOTE (CantStopThinkingBig @ May 9 2012, 05:05 PM) It needs a Geddy choir yes! it would fit right in when Geddy is saying "big STEE-lll WHEE-lzzz"
