  1. QUOTE (tas7 @ May 5 2012, 12:57 AM) For a moment I got excited. Here in Tasmanina an advert started,"All the way from Canada..........Rod Last", a Rod Stewart impersonator. Damn. That's cruel as! One day we will get Rush, One day.....
  2. QUOTE (likeclockwork @ May 2 2012, 09:46 PM) The melodic songs are genuinely GOOD. They're just modern sounding, not throwbacks. The Garden is one of the best and most inspired pieces of music I've heard from the band in many years. It's very much a fitting album closer and sounds totally like the final chapter in a concept story. It has a theatrical feel. Overall this is a very strong album with a lot of variety - much much much stronger than the past couple. Whether you love it or not, it's really quality and the songs have a lot of depth. (For whomever questioned whether I've heard it - I've quoted lyrics from Halo Effect & The Garden in past posts so feel free to check back in June for your answer). thank you very much for answering my questions very excited now just had one more tiny question, the song clockwork angels? as "epic"/"multi parted" as alex described it almost two years ago cheers
  3. these are just my opinions i really enjoyed snakes and arrows a farewell to kings is better than moving pictures i think the lyrics in bravest face are pretty poor by neil's standards i think signals is a hit and miss record, i LOVE subdivisions, analog kid, losing it and digital man, the rest are average to me despite the bashing geddy gets for his vocals nowadays, i really enjoy them, obviously his voice doesnt age gracefully, but i still think there is a lot left in him, i think the performance of presto from the TMT dvd is incredible and one of my favourite live vocal performances
  4. im really intrigued by the track "The Garden", likeclockwork, can you give us any vague details as to the feel of this track, obviously it seems to be a lighter, melodic track, but i was just wondering whether it is a worthy album closer?
  5. QUOTE (hermy @ Apr 30 2012, 11:27 AM) If they played Australia would Neil's kit spin the other way? very good! i can only imagine the joy i would be feeling if i woke up one morning to find out rush had announced a tour!!!
  6. QUOTE (greyfriar @ May 1 2012, 08:23 AM) QUOTE (aaronrusso @ May 1 2012, 12:57 PM) QUOTE (greyfriar @ May 1 2012, 05:31 AM) I've just heard that 'THE ANALOG KID' will definitely be the opener for the second set. Also stated: 'Signals' will be a balance point for the upcoming shows. The Info is from the german Rush Forum and the guy who posted this has contact to the direct periphery of the band and is also a friend of Alex's son. when you say balance point, what do you mean? That means the main focus will be on songs from 'Signals'. I personally doubt that they will play 'Signals' in its entirety but I'm pretty sure we will get 5-6 songs from the album. oh, cheers for that! whatever they decide for the setlist im sure will be awesome either way, i just hope they pull out xanadu in its entirety

  9. QUOTE (Mollynas @ Apr 30 2012, 07:54 AM) YAY! Me too ive had that dream about alot of bands and touring Melbourne and they have all come true, now im hoping the universe hears our desires and makes it come true for RUSH!! I too think that it is now or never for them to come to OZ! I know that like the Dream Theater fans will go to see Rush and fans of metal and alot of musicians would go to a Rush concert here, if not im so going to have to make my way to the U.S to see them. Rush at Rod Laver OMG would be the best! well the australian fans such as ourselves need to be more vocal in their support
  10. QUOTE (Mollynas @ Apr 30 2012, 07:04 AM) I really hope that i will wake up oneday and read or hear that Rush will be coming to Oz! Now with Roadrunner Records/Warner i hope there will be a better chance of them touring here. I do think they can sell and play at a decent venue here as many artists that are obscure do down here and i just hope that Rush is in a very good position to do that. Damn sucks living so far away from the rest of the world especially being a huge Rush head! YES!!! ive had that dream many a time, if they were going to tour here, i think its now or never, my greatest fear is they announce a tour, book places like rod laver arena then tickets sales are shite hopefully thats not the case
  11. as a teenager i can honestly say i was turned on to rush by "I Love You Man", after that i went online, searched them up then went to jb hi fi and bought 2112, having heard nothing but limelight and tom sawyer, i just sat there stunned after hearing the title track i agree with those saying tv exposure does a lot more than radio, seeing as there is no rush on the radio here in melbourne
  12. QUOTE (Alchemical @ Apr 29 2012, 06:30 AM) QUOTE (losingit2k @ Apr 28 2012, 09:04 PM) With all the longer songs on CA, wouldn't it be an Awesome surprise if the upcoming tour ends up being An Epics Tour? Do you think its possible? Set 1: CA (Entire) Limelight Freewill Natural Science Set 2: The Camera Eye Jacobs Ladder The Necromancer By-Tor & the Snowdog Cygnus X-1 Hemispheres Mal Nar/ Drum Solo Alex Solo / La Villa Strangiatto (Entire) Xanadu (Entire) Encore: 2112 (Entire) Encore 2: Far Cry Tom Sawyer The Spirit of Radio Nice joke. i think set 1 is realistic, from malnar onwards in the second set is believable, but thats about it
  13. probably gonna kill me for saying this, but probably through my laptop into some crappy earphones at first because i cant wait, then on stereo when no one is home and blast it
  14. QUOTE (different strings @ Apr 28 2012, 05:43 AM) QUOTE (jesse2112 @ Apr 26 2012, 01:13 AM) Look at it this way, in exchange for not touring in Australia you guys get the album a few days earlier. Thats a fair trade no no no. we want RUSH to tour here. indeed! but i just dont think they can sell out arenas here

  16. QUOTE (Del_Duio @ Apr 25 2012, 07:25 AM) Dream: Remastered Vapor Trails & the lost Test for Echo tour footage Realistic: Behind the Scenes "making of" CA i really would love a remixed vapor trails, love that album but yeah, im just hopeful it comes with a making of doco, especially because its a concept album, some explanation from Rush lyrically and musically would be insightful
  17. QUOTE (tas7 @ Apr 24 2012, 11:36 PM) Fortunately for me, here in Tasmania the giys in JB Hifi are avid Rush fans so they tend to get a few copies of things as they are released. a few of the people at the jb near me now know me by name and always expect me to be ordering something by rush or devin townsend, so ive already warned them ill be preordering soon

  21. QUOTE (Alexmai @ Apr 23 2012, 06:01 AM) QUOTE (Phantom @ Apr 23 2012, 05:29 AM) i suppose that with nothing having been announced, there may not be any exta's or dvd, but I'd love a dvd of the making of the album... ala the making of snakes. I loved being " in studio " with the band and producer. I want 2 hours of it, with every song from idea to lyrics im still hoping everything about the release hasn't been announced, really love making of documentaries
