  1. QUOTE (ShlappinDahBass @ Jun 11 2012, 12:50 PM) My personal favorites are Touch of Satan, Horrors of Spider-Island (personal fave), Soul Taker, and Werewolf. So ungodly funny, these guys are. Those are some of my favorites too. I love how they rip on Joe Estevez any chance they get. And "The Touch Of Satan" has got to be one of the most hilarious movie titles ever.... especially when Tom sings it.
  2. QUOTE (VampireBiscuits @ Jun 10 2012, 06:17 PM) I love Mystery Science Theater 3000, I have since I was a kid when I used to watch the show with my dad and sisters. I started watching them when Mike was the host, so I'd have to say he is my favorite. It would be almost impossible to pick a favorite episode, but the ones I've seen the most are MST3K: The Movie and Werewolf. "Now that I can drive, those caribou don't stand a chance!" "It's just that so many things have happened since we discovered those remains." "Not things again!" http://i893.photobucket.com/albums/ac133/AmokTime85/wheresmy.jpg Big Mike fan here too! Gotta give Joel his respect, but Mike is way funnier IMO. And Werewolf is such a hilarious episode! "Skin-walker." "Skin-walker?" Mike: "Texas skin-ranger."
  3. QUOTE (Good, bad, andrush @ Jun 12 2012, 11:49 PM) Eighth: Last Verse of Sweet Miracle Sorry, off-topic, but YESSSSS
  4. Roll The Bones: pretty good Counterparts: excellent Test For Echo: pretty unlistenable Vapor Trails: excellent Snakes & Arrows: fair Clockwork Angels: very good I went with the latter 3, like everyone else so far. The score right now is 13-0!
  5. QUOTE (Mr. Henry Gale @ Jun 12 2012, 05:57 PM)QUOTE (Merely Space @ Jun 12 2012, 03:39 PM) Sorry, mastering sounds fine to me. Some thought on this. I. Objectively (IMO) this album is poorly mastered (note: this album might sound better than other modern albums. But it doesn't mean it's technically good, or done well. I'm comparing this album to all albums ever mastered.) II. Some people don't care, as it's not a big enough of a deal to affect their enjoyment. III. Some fans take personal offense when you bring up these kind of things. I don't know why, it's almost as if they feel like you are attacking the band. IV. People just get used to it. After your ears have been pummeled with bad mastering and recording for the last 10 years, your ears adjust to the loudness. In conclusion, I think those that really think this has GREAT mastering - should really A/B 80s rush albums (or even bands outside of Rush) and tell me CA sounds great. It really doesn't Mr. Henry Gale and the OP are right on point. It does seem like people are overreacting.... He's talking about the mastering, guys. He's not saying the album is a pile of crap. I wouldn't call Terrapin a troll. JMO, but I don't think the mastering is very good.

Yes, it was an original story but by the time the second season came the show got so convoluted you couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. Say what!? The second season was FAR better than the first. The show was just heating up! The only problem was that the end feels incredibly rushed.... I can't even begin to imagine where they could have taken the story with even just one more season. I'd rank Season 2 of Dollhouse among my favorite seasons of TV ever. QUOTE Firefly's problem was that it was on FOX. The moment you see that show it screams "Sci-Fi Channel". If it had been on there it would've had a respectable run of maybe four of five seasons. Of, course how cute Jewel Staite is should've got Firefly at least three seasons. If I were to make a list of shows that got absolutely screwed, Firefly would be number one. The show was never even given a chance at all. Totally true on all counts. It should have been on SyFy from the beginning. Fox can suck a bag of dicks. Part of me hopes that Joss brings back Firefly for an encore reunion season, just to throw us fans a bone, but another part of me just wants him to develop a new show in a similar vein. After the success of the Avengers, I'm sure he has a shitload of creative capital to spend. Maybe, i'll have to rewatch season two of Dollhouse. I missed something somewhere and the story just ended up confusing the hell out of me. I don't recall even wathcing the whole season, I gave up in the middle of it somewhere. Joss Whedon has said he isn't doing anything else with Firefly again. I remember reading an interview where he said if the movie had been more successful he would've considered it. But Serenity only broke even at the box office and he didn't make any money off it until the DVD release. Still, he should think about doing someting with it again because Nathan Fillion and Summer Glau have become more well known since then. So there might be more people interrested in seeing somethng with those two in it now. Oh yeah, we're suppose to be talking about Arrested Development here Give Dollhouse season 2 another shot and report back. It's possible I was just salivating over Amy Acker, Summer Glau, and Eliza Dushku and the blood wasn't flowing to my brain.... I should probably re-watch too. Summer Glau...what an awesome name...kinda sounds like a microbrew. Mmmm.... I bet it tastes great. Well. That just got creepy.

  8. QUOTE (Sword and Armor @ Jun 12 2012, 07:39 PM)Between the Wheels just edges out Natural Science and La Villa in my humble opinion Awesome song! IMO it is one of the weaker tracks on GUP though, so I couldn't choose it (however, GUP is my favorite album, so my standards are inflated way out of proportion).
  9. QUOTE (Ancient Ways @ Jun 12 2012, 07:07 PM) "That fill is not human" may be a new TRF meme. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Neil Ellwood Peart is not human! He is a cylon.
  10. Natural Science has that spot sealed up forever. Mystic Rhythms is an incredible closer too.
  11. Why is this thread in NWW? Traditional gender roles much? Ahem, anyway. My most hated chore is cleaning the toilet. By far. I love washing dishes. I mean, I wouldn't just stand around and do it all day, but it's actually kind of nice. It's warm and soapy and it builds those biceps.
  12. QUOTE (marblesmike @ Jun 12 2012, 10:41 AM)I'm not a troll. I love the album. It's amazing. I'm saying the pressing quality of the vinyl sucks. Not the mastering/mixing, but the actually pressing from the pressing plant. How is that trolling? Read the post that I quoted (about the vinyl copy looking great) and me responding "except it sounds like crap," it being the vinyl. Some of you people really drink the kool-aid. Damnit, who put shrooms in my kool-aid again?! Sorry Mike, I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. Had a bit too much caffeine this morning. I'm wired like a robotic weasel today.

They came out kind of crappy actually...too grainy. Anyways...for those who ordered the vinyl, you should be happy. It looks stellar. i think you lost your marbles mike.

  16. QUOTE (TullSkull @ Jun 12 2012, 04:42 AM) I got the volley ball set up on the beach and the horse shoe pit is ready for a game.. I call first game of horseshoes! Who's with me? I brought lemonade and cookies!
  17. QUOTE (Gompers @ Jun 12 2012, 10:20 AM) QUOTE (Gilbertk @ Jun 12 2012, 11:06 AM) QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Jun 12 2012, 08:21 AM) Depends on who you ask. Many here disliked S&A, and loved VT. Others disliked VT, but loved S&A. For me, yeah...I love S&A, and I'm loving CA...so yes, I certainly hope to see a third album coming up (and hopefully sooner than 5 years). Let's hope they don't pull a Tool.. Hey, everyone's gotta pull a tool now and then.
  18. QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Jun 12 2012, 08:50 AM) Well...I haven't yet opened the vinyl, but the covers look fantastic! The main one is the back cover...looks awesome! Better than the CD IMO! http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t100/EmotionDetector/IMG_0041.jpg http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t100/EmotionDetector/IMG_0042.jpg Ooooooo I love vinyl! Cool stuff. I think the vinyl cover looks better than the CD cover.... those red whirlpools are neato. I still don't like the clock face though.... it looks cheap and haphazard. The back cover looks awesome though!
  19. QUOTE (jacob's ladder @ Jun 12 2012, 10:12 AM) I think headlong flight or clockwork angels or the garden would be a good time for a pee break. Maybe a good time to pee my pants from excitement!
  20. QUOTE (Rush Cocky @ Jun 12 2012, 10:04 AM) QUOTE (danielmclark @ Jun 10 2012, 07:13 PM) Oh good, look who's back. And what a shock, he doesn't like the new album Yeah, really. I was wondering when he would come around and start trolling again. But to answer the question....for me, none. But for you, it sounds like you'd rather pee ON the album as much as you would like to pee DURING it's playing. Hey, there's a weird fetish in there somewhere.... Seven Cities of Yellow Gold
  21. Any Grimes fans out there? My favorite artist of right now. http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/75470478/Grimes+_PNG_110312_01.png
  22. QUOTE (Your_Lion @ Jun 12 2012, 03:28 AM) Is this a comedy sketch? I can't tell if it's serious or if it's actually meant to be funny. Either way...that was hilarious Nope, just everyday life here in the states.
  23. I predict it will go bronze.
  24. Wow! Thank you, OP! How would I ever tell time without you? And military time? Damn. I'd be lost without you!

As I was being lowered to the floor, I could see and feel the darkness arriving. I was actually standing there watching myself being shot. I remember one dream involving a Hammer House of Horror, gothic style house, one small boy (about 5 years old) and no parents. The kid had been left alone to do some sort of homework (the parents just seemed to have abandoned him; in fact, the parents weren't even there full-stop). He'd heard electrical humming sounds (like robots) from somewhere, got up to have a look, and found an arched open doorway, no door attached, with colorful streamers hanging down. He went through it, and---. That was it. Dream over. I tried to get back to it, even deliberately think about it, but no, nothing. To this day, roughly 30 years later, I never did find out what happened to that kid... Then there were a whole bunch of human skulls lying scattered all over a playing field. Teeth falling out - common enough. Walking around in a house and finding out that the boyfriend I'd had had been cheating (the clues were written on a blackboard - I can't remember what was written. He just stood there admitting it, and his bit-on-the-side had conveniently scarpered. There are probably some more that I can no longer remember, but I do remember one that was, to me, so awful, I just can't bear to repeat it. It's burned in my memory. Yeah I have dreams where my teeth fall out, or I look in the mirror and my teeth are all f*cked up and when I wake up I often get up and look in the mirror for real just to check! Oh God, I have teeth dreams too! I thought I was the only one. Those freak the crap outta me.... It's supposed to mean you have a fear of aging... I think we all have a little bit of that. That makes sense! I totally do have a fear of aging. I don't plan on fighting the natural aging process (Botox, cosmetic surgery, etc.), but I am definitely a little apprehensive about getting older right now. As far as your original question, I always dream in the first person. I've also had dreams where I'm observing everything, but it's more like watching a movie, and I'm not really participating in anything. Does anyone out there have lucid dreams? Yeah, go back to the previous page and read Johnny Blaze's posts, he has them... How old are you anyway? 21 Basically this is the best my life is ever gonna get. After this it's just a long downhill slide.... and then death. I'm 41 this year - how much of a further 'downhill slide' do you want.!? It's all good, 41 is the new 21! How many of the women in your sig are 41? Hmm. Tricia Helfer - 38 Jewel Staite - 30 Gillian Anderson - 43 Sarah Michelle Gellar - 35 Amy Acker - 35 Eliza Dushku - 31 So, one of them is over 41. And three are getting close. I guess I'm into older women....
