  1. QUOTE (go2wrk@95974 @ Feb 3 2012, 03:23 PM) I heard or read it somewhere , that Geddy's grandmother, who was from the "old country" (I believe Poland), couldn't pronounce Gary, so...Gary became Geddy. Are you saying Gary's grandmother is evil?
  2. QUOTE (Babycat @ Feb 3 2012, 10:43 AM) Eh..? just give 'er, eh?
  3. QUOTE (Lerxster @ Dec 29 2011, 11:00 AM)QUOTE (Loki @ Dec 29 2011, 10:34 AM)Why is it that Gary is called Geddy? That sounds more sinister to me. At least Geddy doesn't sound mischievous and evil, like Loki does. Yes it does.
  4. What do you get when you combine Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich? Their wives strapped to the roof of the car.
  5. Using the machine to correct baseball errors would be evil and would affect the future.
  6. I'd say allow it if there was a way to only be observers. Maybe make us temporarily mute or even invisible if possible. I recommend Stephen King's new book "11/22/63" as a great time travel book which explores the consequences. In the foreward he says his personal favourite of this genre is Jack Finney's 1970 book "Time And Again" which I'm currently enjoying.
  7. Why hasn't Rush endorsed a breakfast cereal? Is it because they're steak & eggs type of guys?
  8. Why is it that Gary is called Geddy? That sounds more sinister to me.
  9. Why is it that Rush doesn't do an album of James Brown songs? Are they anti-dancing?
  10. QUOTE (An Enemy Without @ Dec 27 2011, 02:53 AM) QUOTE (Loki @ Dec 26 2011, 10:19 PM) QUOTE (An Enemy Without @ Dec 21 2011, 07:50 PM)You know, just because you call a thread "pinned", it doesn't mean it's actually pinned. Why is that?? Because we would literally be drowning in pinned threads by now. 👾 Do you mean "figuratively"? Either way, drowning in pinned thread sounds like a phrase Neil might use on the next album.
  11. QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Dec 20 2011, 05:14 PM) ...you re-gifted the pink glitter earmuffs I bought you last year? ...people remember what they gave me?
  12. Scrape away the more annoying Zep songs like D'yer Maker, Hot Dog and most of In Through The Out Door, I'd choose them. But if you include everything by both bands, I'd go with Pink Floyd - especially with Syd Barrett.

  14. ...Rush hasn't recorded a Boxing Day song?
  15. ...Willowdale isn't a tourist mecca?
  16. ...Rush hasn't guested on "Big Bang Theory"?
  17. ...Rush hasn't put out a Christmas album?
  18. ...so many threads are pinned?
  19. How cum I can't say fu.cked on here? How about c.unt, is that okay?
  20. A fresh cow head and a row of dead crows is the proper Metal direction. It's not quite as f*cked up as the Prog idea of running a clothes dryer on stage but more energy efficient.
  21. It took a long time for Bob Seger and Alice Cooper to get in there, I suspect Rush will make it soon. Same with other overlooked influential bands like the Moody Blues or Jethro Tull. Who have believed a guy like Leonard Cohen would get in there ahead of other Canadians like the Guess Who or Rush? It's probably all about your connections, more clearly if your drug connection is the same as Jan Wenner's or Dave Marsh's.
  22. Working Man is great but not prog at all. Schizoid Man is much better in every regard - lyrics, guitars, singing, drums, - plus it has a sax! Schizoid is better than EVERY Rush song, dare I say it's the greatest prog rock tune every recorded? I bet even Geddy, Alex, and Neil would agree.
  23. I went with "7 and 7 is", but "The Seeker" would be a close second. It's interesting to see the songs that shaped and influenced Rush but David Bowie's "Pin Ups" does the idea much better.
  24. I chose it as my favourite, Tom Sawyer sounds even better to me than it did 30 years ago. If the poll asked for our top 5 Rush songs in order that would have been a more refined list, in my opinion.
  25. I borrowed it from the library and just finished reading it, found it fairly interesting. Glad I didn't shell out hard currency on it though.
