  1. Happy Birthday my Nordic friend! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yUSNs0wGR8
  2. too funny! There's a lot more clips of MetalTrump and also Trump Rocks. They're all from the same guy. Check out some of the other ones, they're all good.
  3. Very unexpected tribute. Now go, sell your guns, buy some guitars and drums... and make America sound again! :rush:
  4. When Sagan died from cancer, I was not only very sad, but also very angry. All I could see was the injustice of losing one of the greatest minds of our time "before his time". Yeah, another sad loss. Always loved when he was on TV but I never read one of his books though. Think I should change that in the near future.
  5. That gatefold LP cover scared the shit out of me when I was a little kid. My cousin showed it to me and she narrated some demon and devil stories thereto and when she dropped the needle of the record player, I nearly died! I was 8 at the time.
  6. Great quote from Mr. Sagan. First thing that came to mind when I read the thread title... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf2kEOgyCCY
  7. I love these clips... MetalTrump rules! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCc3TVYJyO0
  8. Nah Earl the GUP cover is too water colour-ish for me, I hate that style mostly. And the colours themselves are too washed out and faded looking. Here's my top 5: 1. Fly By Night 2. 2112 3. A Farewell to Kings 4. Caress of Steel 5. Moving Pictures Hahahaha! Funny buddy! I did the GUP album cover in water colors back in 1986. Art Class as a senior in high school! lol Got an honorable mention for it in a art show..... You should have done Fly By Night instead mate! :d13: Good point mate! How do you feel about JAZZ tonight Earl? Dude!! I am half way through two nights of Rock Shows!! My buddy and I went to the Bottom Of The Hill last night to see Wednesday 13 and The 69 Eyes. Very HORROR GOTH ROCK SHIT. It was ok but nothing great. Very Alice Cooper meets Rob Zombie Marylin Manson shite. Entertaining live, but annoying. The 69 Eyes were cool. All in skeleton leather jackets. Very Vampire Rock meets Billy Idol, The Cult and Elvis Presley with a touch of Danzig on vocals. But tonight I am about to head back to the Bottom Of The Hill for two bands I really do like!! JUNKYARD is opening for DANKO JONES!!! Sleaze Rock and Melodic Toronto Rock!! The Bottom Of The Hill is where I almost saw GHOST on their first tour! I couldn't get in! Killed me! But I tried. I love jazz buddy. Just not tonight!! If I'd been your father Earl I'd have forced you to be a JAZZ drummer so I could have all the metal and and hard rock albums for myself, especially the Japanese imports! Hahahaha! Yep! My drum teacher was a jazz drummer. That's why he couldn't teach me YYZ so I learned it myself and the rest is history! I fell in love with Neil's drumming in the 8th grade so I went heavy PROG ROCK baby! I can't swing too well to be honest but I have no regrets. Playing to Rush albums still keeps my on my toes! How about death metal Earl, how do you feel about that tonight??? You are hilarious buddy. No thanks. I like the new Haunt album though. I was listening to a few hours of death metal tonight, it's all posted in the albums thread. I can't do it Pat! Can't do what mate? I can't get into death metal mate. That won't stop you looking in the albums thread! Hey Earl, I have often wondered why you avoid the albums thread! Should be right up your alley! Some great folks, listening to brilliant albums, having a good time talking about the shit. He's an album thread snob GF!! He thinks his shit don't stink! He just wants to come on here and start a couple of his crazy Earl threads get his frustration out, bitch about Wendy and his current girlfriend and go back to his mancave where he secretly listens to Justin Bieber all night! Lol, Earl and Bieber in the same sentence! :smoke: My guess is he fears the amount of new stuff, he probably gets confronted with. It's an endless task chasing so much music on this Earth. The Prog scene is dead in the USA. JMO It's refreshing that a metal band called HAUNT is from Fresno Ca. Another band Pat brought to my attention. It never ends Earl and that's a good thing. Ducky is always (except the black metal stuff) full of great recommendations and inspiration. He's made of metal!!! The scene isn't dead at all Earl, think global. There are many bands from around the world that hold up the prog flag, and the US still has Royal Thunder, Bask, Elder, YYNot and many more that I really like!

He's scared of spending all his money on albums when he's determined to travel to Vegas 8 times a year to see the RAIDERS in their new city and stadium. And his Brazilian girlfriend expects expensive meals and trips to Mexico where Earl spends his time buying Mexican imports of RUSH albums! :boohoo: <<<<< Earl Is the Brazilian girlfriend still prevailing? I read somewhere that he gave her the marching orders.

  12. Not listened to any Rush for a good few weeks and wasnt overly traumatised by Neil's death, was like he'd been gone a while anyway but, just gave Earthshine a hard blast when it came up on YT and was in awe once again at the majesty of this man's playing and lyrics. Tonight was the first time i felt a real sense of grief :( Different forms of coping, man. It was just the opposite for me. I was instantly shocked and I fell in some kind of Rush-therapy-listening mode, over the last few weeks. I listened to all the studio material, back and forth, and I threw some fine bootlegs in between. Now that he's gone, those live recordings showed me a new facet of appreciation that I haven't known before. I love the man even more now! I may be a weirdo but I will never lie. I slept with my Neil Peart 747 drumsticks one night after hearing the news. I can hear you, Earl! I'm even weirder. I'm reading Ghost Rider at the moment and at one point Neil, mentioned a song that he often sang to himself (trying to nail it) while riding his BMW. Now comes the weird part, I listened to the song and I love it! :D Here you go... Hank Snow... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGj7-R6WPf4 Then you need to start listening to Frank Sinatra too! Oh thanks, I'm pretty familiar with the Sinatra catalogue and I like the rest of the Rat Pack too. I planned to see him live in 1997 on his last German tour but, I decided to go see The Who on their Quadrophenia tour. I just came home from a Rush trip to Canada, so Sinatra was a bit too much for me at the time. Man, I wish to invent that f***in' time machine.

  14. Hahaha! Well you know the three of us are "The Three Amigos!" Makes total sense. "Knight Rider" went through my head first before "Firefox." Yet I chose Clint. Love that tv show. How about MAGNUM?? MAGNUM PI? Tom Selleck? Or the prog band? LOL! No the choc ice: Hahaha! Thought it was going to be a box of condoms Pat. The HOFF claims he never wears them. That was in the mid 80's though before the permed hair AIDS scare. His concerts are always sold out in Germany! Yeah, well, Rammstein, Mozart, and Wagner notwithstanding, the Germans' cultural tastes are suspect. I mean, they also go bonkers over the Smurfs. Great observations folks. Right now I'm sitting in my bunker, listening to I've Been Looking For Freedom, and of course I wear my smurf costume. Götterdämmerung baby! :P She forgot Beethoven, Brahms, Bach, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Strauss, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Scorpions, Kreator, Accept, Sodom. Haha, and since she spoke of our suspect cultural tastes, I must add BEER to that list. :hail:
