  2. yeah 3 tickets is sometimes hard to fill let someone fly solo in a difference section everyone around them will accept them as one of their own ... after all we are all rush fans.

  5. I sure hope today goes better than yesterday ... Came home from work with a nauseating migraine. AC went out on the master bedroom side of the house. Went to move the truck, drill bit stuck in a brand new tire! ugh ... We are heading down about 3.30 today, have to find the willcall booth and get the M&G tickets.
  6. So, I am relieved to see that my pre-sale music today tickets for the June 16th showed arrived today. Too bad the M&G passes are not being mailed as well.
  7. QUOTE (tapermike @ Apr 15 2011, 06:58 PM) QUOTE (Digital Man @ Apr 15 2011, 08:52 PM) QUOTE (tapermike @ Apr 15 2011, 09:50 PM) QUOTE (Derxst @ Apr 15 2011, 08:43 PM) See 4:33 of the video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8jKGQj9wYQ&feature=related OK BUT IF I AM A PAYING GUEST AT THE HOTEL THERE IS NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO ABOUT IT. If you do it while they're on tour, I'm pretty sure his security won't let you get that close. MAYBE I WILL SURPRISE HIM WHEN HE IS DRINKING CARROT JUICE AND DOING THAI CHI AS I KNOW HE IS IN TO THAT NEW AGE ORIENTAL STUFF. Now .. that's funny.
  8. QUOTE (On TheRoad To Adventure @ Apr 14 2011, 02:08 PM) QUOTE (DigitalDan @ Apr 13 2011, 06:41 PM) Years ago I think I would have really wanted to meet them enough to pay $3K. But now I'd love to just party with the from the front row for 3 hours. 11th row is the closest I've ever made it since I started seeing them in 1991 and that was this past weekend in Hershey. Might splurge on the next tour for first 3 rows if available. If anyone has any tips for getting first 3 rows without knowing someone I'd love to hear it. Ditto for me. I've got 13th row for Portland this year, and that's the closest I've ever been. How anyone can get the first few rows without paying an arm and a leg to a scalper, or by knowing someone is beyond me. Many venues have VIP programs. Where you pay a "membership" fee to get the first yay/nay on events. The memberships are crazy and they do not include tickets. I looked into it for a venue here in phoenix, The Dodge Theater, it was about 5k+ a year for the membership alone for a 2 seat option! With the prices being what they are, they are likely only enrolled by the elite or ticket brokers.
  9. 1700-2000 seems to be what the market can bare right now.
  10. QUOTE (toddnbeth @ Apr 13 2011, 04:48 PM) I have thought about waving some cash around and trying to buy a meet and greet from someone at a show, but am nervous. Would there be anything illegal about attempting to do this ? Would it be like scalping tix at a show ? I scored second row to the first LA show in June, and would really hate to miss the show being escorted out to the parking lot or even worse, a holding cell. "scalping" is legal in most states. M&G were free so I think you can name your price for what the market will bare.
  11. QUOTE (Janie @ Apr 13 2011, 07:02 AM) I'm dying to hear about your experience. Was it what you had expected? Would you do it all over again? lol i wish he would!
  12. QUOTE (RUSHian62 @ Apr 13 2011, 05:26 AM) Is this for Real?!! Paying $1700.00 for Meet and Greet?!! http://www.TicketCity.com/concert-tickets/...l-19-800pm.html Yes. Most I have seen are 1750-2000 each for concert tickets and M&G Passes. I will be listing mine at 4k for the pair and take offers from there The pictures taken at the events are here; http://01ed31a.netsolhost.com/timemachine/index.html
  13. QUOTE (-D-RocK- @ Apr 7 2011, 12:28 PM) Meet & Greets must be the worst part of the job for a touring musician. If they did not want to do it, they wouldn't. I have met others and depending on mood and circumstances obviously, most were very appreciative or appeared to be. I believe that Geddy and Alex work them more of photo-ops than what I would really call a meet & greet.
  14. There are at least 4 ways to "win" a M&G. musicians friend for the Vegas with tickets and Alex M&G Presale (livenation) Backstage Local Radio If you are willing to pay, post a bounty like someone else did.
  15. wear another band shirt. douchey to wear fanboi attire.
  16. QUOTE (hughes&kettner @ Mar 31 2011, 09:46 AM) QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ Mar 31 2011, 11:14 AM) Love ya, Alex, but please get yourself in better physical shape (lose the weight) and get some sleep! A concerned friend stupid post I think he looks better a little filled out.
  17. We will have to agree to disagree on this one.
  18. As much as I am looking forward to "meeting" them, if you can call it that. I do not see them as celebrity. More of someone I have a great respect for and admire their work, similar to an author or researcher. Neil? Eh, he is so pretentious I have no desire to meet him. Surprised he has not locked himself away Howard Hughes style...
  19. QUOTE (usb_connector @ Mar 29 2011, 06:44 PM) Thanks man. Maybe they'll give priority to the suckers who took part in the pre-sale. Suckers how? I got decent seats and won the Meet & Greet for Phoenix.
  20. QUOTE (Ceiling Unlimited @ Mar 29 2011, 07:28 PM) The reason RUSH rescheduled the Greensboro show is that Live Nation also scheduled the Royal Comedy Tour at the War Memorial next door. Don't know if it's parking issues or what? The comedy tour was asked to move their date and they refused. RUSH agreed to move the show date. This led to a domino effect and rather than having 4 shows in 5 days....they moved the Toledo show too. You've gotta love Live Nation...@#%$-ups. If they cannot host concurrent events, why have two venues? Not like either is competing for the others audience. Where was the FTC and DOJ when Ticket Monster bought Live Nation which had already bought Music Today?
  21. QUOTE (HigherWater @ Mar 29 2011, 03:28 PM) QUOTE (TheBlonde @ Mar 29 2011, 10:57 AM) What sort of unforseen circumstance would be acceptable to you? I did read on RIAB that Toledo had to be postponed because of the April 1 /2 postponement. If the venue had to postpone for some reason, or maybe there was some sort of equipment issue that couldn't be resolved before the show, saying something along those lines would probably appease most fans. But really, if the band had to postpone for a personal and/or medical reason, they don't "owe it" to you to tell you why. And it would violate the US HIPAA laws...which apply to everyone in the US, citizens or not. I'm not saying that fans don't have the right to be ticked that the shows were postponed. I'd be, especially if I couldn't make the rescheduled show. But to say that we are owed an explanation? Fair question. I would say there are no unforeseen circumstances that are acceptable without explanation. In other words, I don't have a problem with the postponement, I have a problem with the arrogance of the press release. How about this: "The Arena in Greensboro has a conflict and cannot accomodate Rush on April 1. Due to the amount of chewing tobacco left behind after Wednesday's tractor pull the arena will need an extra day to clean. We are sorry for any hardship this may have caused but we all know: In North Carolina TRACTOR PULL COMES FIRST!" That would have been fine with me! HW Monster Truck Shows are on Sunday Sunday Sunday!
  22. I think the noise is in regards to the way the information was not disseminated. As mentioned it may come off as arrogant, my guess it was a misstep by PR.
  23. QUOTE (hughes&kettner @ Mar 28 2011, 05:15 PM) QUOTE (HigherWater @ Mar 28 2011, 06:35 PM) They need to tell their customers WTF is going on. A reschedule with five days to spare is totally unacceptable and totally bush-league. I don't have a horse in this race, but damn, if I did I'd be pissed. For me and my family, holidays are scheduled around Rush concerts. How can they be going with, "unforseen circumstances?" rush doesn't owe anyone anything really. bush league? not really. personal issues are just that, and if that's the case no one around here will ever know why, cuz it's not our beeswax... and in a month few folks will care or even remember the moved dates... "bush league??" seriously? Artists without fans are beggars. While they do not personally owe anyone anything I do believe they owe their fan base something. It is easy to become emotional and react versus respond. Had the same thing happen when Social D had to reschedule here in Phoenix last year, and they rescheduled months out.
  24. Sucks for those that were traveling.
