  1. I agree with everyone that last night was an awesome show. The band sounded great and very energetic. Although I didn't really think the crowd was as great as everyone else has been saying. I was somewhat far back, in section 800 row EE, and it seemed like a lot of people around me were fairly disinterested in a lot of the 1st set and the Clockwork Angels stuff. In fact, the guy in front of me was sitting down on his cell phone for nearly the whole CA portion. It did look like the crowd down towards the front was more enthusiastic, and of course everyone picked up from YYZ through 2112. On another note, as I was walking around before the show started, another fan called me over to talk with him when he noticed my Chicago 2010 Rain Date hat. He said he went to the rained out show but couldn't make it to the rescheduled date. He obviously didn't get one of the free hats, and he said he's wanted one ever since. While I turned down his $85 offer for the hat, I let him take a picture wearing it. I thought that was one of the highlights of my night.
  2. Another young Rush fan, awesome! I'm also in college now, and I first heard Rush about 4 years ago, and I didn't become a big fan until probably 2 years ago. The Time Machine Tour was the first time I saw Rush (I saw them twice on the tour, including the "rain date" in 2010 in Chicago), and I thought that the shows were simply spectacular. I really liked their setlist, especially the second set (with possibly my favorite Rush song La Villa Strangiato). I don't understand how everyone can rip on Geddy's voice. I think he sounds great for how old he is, and it's amazing that he can still hit high notes like in Freewill. I think the DVD did a great job of capturing how amazing this tour was. Not only did they show the band being awesome as they always are, they also got some of the show's humor into it, like the intro videos and Neil's solo video during Tom Sawyer, and they also did a great job capturing the audience. I can only think of two things that I wish could be changed about the DVD. First, I wish they added the I Love You Man video in (yeah I know it may have been some copyright issue or something). Second, I really wish they had made the crowd louder during 2112. That's the best part of a Rush show as a fan, and it's really hard to hear on the DVD. Other than that, I really love the DVD. @Test4Eggo I was totally the Rush guy in my high school. My friends and other people would always comment on my shirts and stuff, it was great. I'm in the middle of finals now, and I've decided to only wear Rush shirts to my finals, hopefully they can give me a bit of good luck! rules!
  3. One more question: anybody know if I could find the tabs for the acoustic solo anywhere? I did a quick google search and search of this forum and didn't come up with anything
  4. QUOTE (micgtr71 @ Apr 24 2011, 12:41 PM) Seems to me that I remember somewhere it being listed as "Love For Sale". I may be completely off my rocker, though That's Neil's drum solo
  5. Does anybody know if Alex has a name for the acoustic solo he's been playing as an intro to Closer to the Heart?
  6. I just got these signed photos back from the United Center show in Chicago. I took them at the show last August and sent them to the UC. It's kinda hard to see the autographs, but they're still awesome http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/215734_10150161140333691_623428690_6968665_1625756_n.jpg http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/216400_10150161140643691_623428690_6968667_1547821_n.jpg http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/221911_10150161140883691_623428690_6968670_3214186_n.jpg
  7. I'd look on Craigslist. For the rained out show I picked up my tickets from a Craigslist user on the day of the show, and I got a pretty good deal too.
  8. anybody know if they'll sign stuff sent to the united center in chicago?
  9. Does anyone know if they will sign stuff at the United Center in Chicago next Tuesday? I was thinking about sending a few photos to get signed.
  10. here's the camera I have: http://wikoshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Nikon-D3000-3.jpg I emailed the venue and they said that they would allow "small digital cameras", hopefully this will qualify. I think I'll try to sneak in my bigger lens
  11. QUOTE (Oziumrules @ Mar 31 2011, 01:38 AM) I took over 200 photos and never was told to put my camera away at the Bank Atlantic last night. Just as long as you don't use a flash or take video they don't seem to care. I have never had an issue with cameras at any RUSH show. did you have a DSLR? or just a point and shoot?
  12. I was wondering if anybody knows if I'll be allowed to bring my DSLR camera into one of the shows this year. I'm going to the show in Chicago at the United Center on April 12, and I'd really love to bring my camera along. (If you didn't know, a DSLR is one of the bigger fancy ones that has detachable lenses.) I brought it to the rescheduled show last year at Charter One Pavilion in August; the security guys at the entrance had to check it out for a minute or so and then they let me in, and I got some great pictures (the pictures are online here if you want to see them) If I won't be allowed to bring the camera in, how could I contact the band to request a photo pass or something like that? Thanks for the help. I'm new to the forum; I don't know if I've even posted here yet.
