  2. Pearl Harbor Ishtar Shanghai Surprise Mission to Mars Little Nicky The Eye Diaster Movie The Strangers Starsky and Hutch Catwoman Armageddon Street Fighter Stop or My Mom Will Shoot Down With Love Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Disturbia Revolver Dream Catcher Gods and Generals (altho I thought the sets were very authentic) QUOTE Pearl Harbor was bad enough to inspire an entire song in Team America! Can't get much worse than that. - good one Slime! Field of Dreams was a little sappy, but not bad enough to make our list, imo. I'd like to get a list that everyone agrees on, so if you would like any of the above taken off the list, please do so, or forever hold your peace.
  3. QUOTE (mazyyz @ Jul 30 2008, 10:07 PM)Mars Attacks Helllll no. Mars Attacks is funny as shit. "We come in peace." then... BLAST BLAST BLAST!!! That movie was a trip!
  4. QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Jul 15 2008, 10:12 AM) QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Jul 15 2008, 10:09 AM) Votes for anything other than the first one must've been done as a joke. I agree that the first is still the best, but I'd argue that a few others are still very good film. Rocky III is as poignant as any of them, IMO. I voted III.
  5. QUOTE (Marathonist @ Jul 29 2008, 08:08 PM)QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Jul 29 2008, 07:55 PM) Cold Mountain. And I like love story/chicky flix. This one was downright awful. The book sucked ass too. I realize that Oprah's Book Club would give me a beating if they heard me say that, but I hated it. Needless to say, I stayed far, far away from the movie. Have to disagree with this one. First time i saw it, thought it was draggy and depressing. Saw it again on tv a couple years later and enjoyed it more. There was some pretty good acting thruout altho still think it was a little long. Bottom line, this movie does have some redeeming qualities. And i'll say the same for The English Patient. So then, so far we have the following that everyone agrees on is crap : Pearl Harbor remake (the orginal was excellent) Ishtar Shanghai Surprise Mission to Mars Little Nicky The Eye Diaster Movie The Strangers Starsky and Hutch Catwoman Armageddon Street Fighter Stop or My Mom Will Shoot Down With Love Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and i'll add Disturbia I'd like to get a list that everyone agrees on, so if you would like any of the above taken off the list, please do so, or forever hold your peace.
  6. QUOTE (ladirushfan80 @ Jul 15 2008, 11:00 AM)Pags... the thought of leaving you there to deal with the car all by yourself was never an option or a consideration... we leave no one behind. let the powers that be just TRY and throw a wrench into the plan. you take that wrench, throw it as far as you can away from you, and make the best out of a shitty situation, 'eh? it's just the way we roll, man. There's nothing TRFers can't overcome banding together! Only a little way into the thread and awesome pics so far! Someone may have already mentioned, but if the powers that be throw you a wrench when your van breaks down, don't throw it as far away as you can. It might be useful.
  7. QUOTE (thesweetscience @ Jul 21 2008, 08:17 PM) I just watched "the departed". All I can say is WOW. 10/10 Who knew 2 an a half hrs could disappear like that........ That's one of those movies that the acting is so good you can watch it simply for that fact, regardless of whether you know the movie by heart or not. edit - had to add : incredible storyline also.
  8. Searched and saw a couple of threads beating around the bush. But none that came out and said it. If there's another thread that is scrictly for bad movies not worth viewing, please noteefiy. Just watched The Eye with Jessica Alba It tried hard with special effects and a pretty girl and with decent acting. But just the lamest plot. Girl is blind, girl gets cornea transplant, girl can now see the spirit world, girl uses new power to save lives. With no twists or surprises, totally one you can miss.

Boone, what a cool name!! He reminds me of my old dog Shy. Thanks Troutman. I've had three other dogs. Loved them all. They are buried in nice grassy area on my property that stays in the shade all day long. No markers, but i sometimes think of them when i walk by there sometimes with Boone in the evening. I've had some cats that i remember. Leo, who used to suck on his tail and knead your leg and purr like crazy. And a little black cat, who caught all kinds of stuff and bit off their heads and left the bodies on the front porch. rabbits, mice, squirels, a huge rat one time, fish (after a big rain), moles I tell ya this cat could hunt.

  14. QUOTE (Rolinda Bonz @ Apr 20 2008, 11:36 PM) QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Apr 19 2008, 10:48 AM)First of all, thank you to all my wonderful friends who are constant supports for me. I couldn't get through a day without you. I love you all. Paul, no need for thanks, but you are so very welcome. I'm glad I could help. MH, Fridge is right - there are NO limits for you as far as education goes. I'd be willing to bet you are an extremely intelligent young man. Get tested, get some help with study skills, etc. and the sky's the limit. And finally, here is Mr. Stephen - he just wouldn't smile for me, though. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v297/RushBabe/Stephen/PICT0138.jpg Posing with his serious look. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v297/RushBabe/Stephen/PICT0133-1.jpg And asleep last night, curled up with his Jungle Book animals (that's Bagheera's tail you see there. ) great pics, GG. My son, Timothy, is totally into The Jungle Book right now. He likes to watch the movie repeatedly, pausing it when things in the story are in mid-air. Something to keep in mind with these rapidly growing boys, is new shoes. Tim has been doing much better behaviorly since he got the trampoline for Christmas. I think he bounces a lot of his frustrations out. Anyway, he started getting unmanageable again just recently...hitting teachers, throwing toys, and refusing to follow directions in general. It occurred to me, probably a few weeks too late (stupid mom ) that his shoes were too small for his feet. I got him a new pair that day, and he's a new kid, all cooperative and smiles...well, as can be expected. So I just want to remind all those parents out there how quickly they grow. And they can't always tell us, or even identify themselves, the things that are bothering them, like shoes that are too small. new shoes kid ---> Santa Claus is smart. edit - and that's the prettiest ghost i've ever seen.

  16. QUOTE (EveryNerveAware @ Feb 2 2008, 08:44 PM)Venus and Jupiter in Morning Skies http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb305/EveryNerveAware/RUSH/VenJupMorn_tafreshi800.jpg These two celestial beacons shining brightly in the east before sunrise are actually children of the Sun, the planets Venus and Jupiter. The second and third brightest objects in the sky at Night after the Moon, Venus and Jupiter appeared separated by about 2 degrees when this picture was taken on January 30th, but closed to within nearly half a degree early yesterday morning. In the serene foreground is the shoreline along the Miankaleh Peninsula and Gorgan Bay, an important bird and wildlife refuge in the southeastern Caspian Sea. Over the next two days, early morning risers around the globe will be able to enjoy a close pairing of Venus and Jupiter with an old crescent Moon. Nice pic. but is that shore line lit up? are they partying on the Caspian? looks like the bars, casinos, and discos are open.
  17. I was watching Cosmos last night and I realized the "Agent" talks likes Carl Sagan. Just thought you'd like to know Mis ter An der son.

  19. QUOTE (goose @ Dec 16 2007, 01:48 AM) QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Dec 10 2007, 09:24 AM) I think what the SciFi Nerds see as "deep meaning" and profound symbolism boils down to a simple (granted, original) theme: "What if Virtual Reality was reality and reality was illusion?" I'm a geek, but not geeky enough to play that Information Age Mind f**k game. Um, not so original. Isn't this just a twist on the classic allegory of the cave? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allegory_of_the_cave My interpretation and from a Christian point of view, would be that the material world is the "deception" (the matrix) and the spiritual realm is the real world you can't enter until (edit)you swallow something supernatural.
  20. QUOTE (Warm memory Chip @ Dec 16 2007, 02:06 AM) Hello there, newbie Warm-memory-Chip here, Actually after thinking back an all 3 films, there would be a ton of religious type references and ideas. I sorta get the opposite feel, unless you consider a psuedo computer program that is the supposed savior of a race of moles who eat some sort of synthetic Protien filled Oatmeal and all wear Doc Martins, not to mention look like they live in the background of a really bad 80's Poison video, you know the metal-the warehouse, and sparks, lots of sparks. The funny part is, if those relgious overtones seen in the Matrix are anything revealing of psuedo-religeo nonsense, the Da-Vinci Code didn't have Keanu in it did it? rock on WMC - cool name from The Body Electric? GraceUP - one of my favs
  21. QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Dec 9 2007, 05:38 PM) I think the Matrix films are pseudo-intellectual garbage for people who can't handle reality. OK, blue pill - stay in what you understand or red pill - choose something your intellect can't comprehend?
  22. Just some things I noticed. Morpheus' ship - The Nebuchadnezzar (book of Daniel) Nebuchadnezzar was the king of Babylon who had the dream that Daniel interpreted. This dream was the first in a series of dreams that prophesy of coming world empires culminating in a last empire that is "different" from any the world has ever known. The ship's model number is Mark III no.11 This is seen on the plaque also. If you look up Mark 3:11 in the Bible it says "And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, You are the Son of God." Neo is "The One" (same letters btw) that "the oracle" said would come and be able to defeat the "agents". Matrix is an old word for womb. Jesus said to see the kingdom of God you must be born again. And Neo was "born again" after he took the red pill. Then he saw that he had been living a deception, reality began once he was flushed out. Zion - God's holy city Trinity Neo appears to be hanging on a cross at the end of Revolutions. He is the sacrifice that brings peace between man and God? Oh well, that's all I can think of. Maybe eyes crazy. Hope ya'll give me some feedback.
