  1. Cant you just hear Jim at Thankgiving Dinner the rest of their lives.. "It was HOLDING, dammit!"
  2. :bump:  Good Job, LabT. I thought Ravens defense would win the day. Exciting SB. Definitely long enough. lol edit - Philly tho? :laughing yellow guy:
  3. David Banner tries his hand at delivery truck driver.
  4. Now they just called one on Oakland for hitting a defensless receiver. No helmet to helmet contact. Actually their facemasks might have touched as they were going down. Oakland coach is furious, as well he should be.
  5. Im am so sick of every time a QB or Receiver gets hurt they call a excessive roughness. Panthers will most like win this game anyway, but Greg Hardy just sacked Oakland QB in what can ONLY be descibed as a TEXT BOOK and LEGAL hit. QB still had ball in his hand, was hit CLEARLY with the shoulder in the RIBS, and still they called it! And what did the ignorant annoucer say? He said he was called for it because he lowered his head! What the hell is he supposed to do! Give him a chest bump??!!!

  7. Not since 1945. I think there were about 20-25 before that though. The closest to it recently has been the Fins and Steelers on a MNF game where there were divots all over the field due to rainy conditions. The Steelers kicked a FG wit under half a minute to play. Think someone remembered that and turned on the water sprinklers. lol
  8. Yeah Id say the Bears. Panthers have worst Special teams. Just got new kicker, tho. If he can make 50% at 30 yrds, he'll be an improvement. And our punter only shanked one last week so he's getting better. lol Hope Eagles OL stays crappy for Mon nite. My prediction : Eagles brake record with 3 onside kick recoveries and four 2 pt conversions to beat Panthers 32 -31. :laughing guy: edit: btw, Did you know that Panthers are 0-11 on coin tosses? I mean, damn. lol
  9. QUOTE (alphseeker @ Sep 24 2012, 10:51 PM) QUOTE (Inthend @ Sep 24 2012, 10:47 PM) OMG! I hope you guys are seeing this! this S#$^ has to end NOW - It is ruining the league. Obvious interception - Man they missed the push off and gave the catch to the wrong player. I actually didn't notice the push off as it happened. Don't know if it was in the camera view or not. But ref was looking right at it, definitely should have been called. The near simultanoeus rec/int I can understand them getting wrong. The terrible pass interference call on GB is the one I dont know how they could have called. GB ended up keepping the Hawks from scoring but were pinned deep because of it. This will definitely put even MORE pressure on league to settle with Officials. But all I know for sure is there are alot of pissed off Packer fans right now.
  10. OMG! I hope you guys are seeing this!
  11. HA! Cant believe they called that pass interference. Will have to say tho, Seattle's Defense has been superb 2nite.
  12. QUOTE (treeduck @ Sep 16 2012, 03:26 PM)THE SAINTS are missing Sean Payton... Not saying it wouldn't have made a difference today, but I thought Saints had a good game plan today even without. Panthers looked great today, and they needed to after last week's flat line performance. It was so good to have J. Stewart back. Man he's good! And it's officially a miracle. Thomas Davis has played 2 games in a row without tearing his ACL! Davis comes back from 3rd ACL tear
  13. After a shaky start Panthers come out with some life in the 2nd half. The goal line stand at the end of 1st half to send them in down 13 instead of 17 - 0 was really the only highlight of 1st half.
  14. McCann is the man.. .. today with a homer and a sacrifice rocket to right field in the 10th that incredibly was caught to keep it from being a 2 run single, but was enough to get the Braves the extra inning win over the Mets.

  20. QUOTE The Atlanta Braves, who once made the postseason an annual staple, reached an agreement to acquire Chicago Cubs ace Ryan Dempster on Monday, in their bid to win a postseason round for the first time since 2001. Oh boy! Here we come!
  21. QUOTE (third hand grace @ Jul 16 2012, 07:24 PM) My career is football (American). I have coached NFL kids and future NFL kids, and thousands of regular kids. I played 17 years through college, and have coached now for 17. a few things I'd like to say... 1. The most dangerous thing a kid can do is a trampoline. Football is risky but if someone ACTUALLY RESEARCHES "activities w/ highest rate of injury" football usually isn't even in the top 5 usually. (How many of you let your kid skateboard/inline skate/swim/ride a bike? go look at where these rank!) 2.At the highest levels soccer is tougher than "football" people want to give credit for, although I (personally, my opinion and entitled to it... not gonna get into a discussion about it) think at the lower levels it helps create a culture of "softness" in boys) 3. NFL life expectancy MAY be tied to contact, but to play sports such as this one must have less regard for their body, and be willing to take higher RISK. Do you think that they turn that off when done playing? Many live lives full of risky behavior way before the ever enter the NFL, and many continue to do so after. Can't blanket statement that its due to collisions. 4. Before I forget, Charles Barkley is a big mouth. He talks without thinking. So who cares what he says, he is ignorant of the game of football about as much as he is knowledgeable about the game of golf (he sucks). 5. Rugby tougher than football? I dont have facts, but I highly doubt a rugby player can MOVE like NFL players, therefore the whole idea of FORCE = MASS x ACCELERATION must be thrown out the window. If this doesn't convince you, then let me ask you : WHY DON'T RUGBY PLAYERS JUMP INTO THE NFL, THE MONEY IS BETTER ISN'T IT?! Only ones that usually do are punters (i.e. non-contact) 6. very few ever intentionally use the helmet to hurt the opponent. There's always an idiot out there but in the NFL many of them actually are good people (the media focuses on the negative... do you believe the media's version of everything else? I hope not) 7. helmet technology is getting better quickly (now) because of better computers and awareness, but it wasnt improving as quickly as players were getting BIGGER FASTER and STRONGER (late 1980's is when bodies started to change, at first becuase of roids, but now they honestly are almost extinct becuase of better strength and conditioning research). You will see the most damaged brains in MY generation late 1980s - 2000, my hunch. 8. High school football will not go away. There will be a more detailed waiver that parents will sign off on. They already do now, but in the future schools will protect themselves by stating that not only could their child get injured or die, but that there could be unforseable injury and damage to the body by participating. thanks for reading this...
  22. QUOTE (Transcendent Pilgrim @ Jul 7 2012, 11:23 AM) QUOTE (MainMonkeyBusiness @ Jul 7 2012, 11:03 AM) Wow. American football isn't even the roughest game out there. Rugby is way worse, if you don't believe me, watch two grown men smash into each other at full speed WITHOUT any padding. Association football (soccer) is pretty rough too. Simply not true. I've played both pick up games of tackle football and organized tackle football and believe me you hit differently when you have pads and a helmet than you do without.
