  1. RUSH IN BROOKLYN?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY HOOD??!!!!!! Its a ten minute subway ride from my front door!
  2. It employs the same notes as "limbo" in the first part, but IMHO its way tastier!
  3. After listening to the teaser clip far too many times at work yesterday as soon as I got it I grabbed my Geddy Lee Jazz Bass and nailed the lick. Its hypnotic and soooooo much fun to play! Geddy always has at least one or two songs per album that are inspiring to me low end wise, but on the strenght of Caravan, BU2B and the clip, I reckon CA is going to be wall to wall Geddy Bass Porn!
  4. Did the song title come from the way Ged and Alex 'Wrecked" each others parts after they had their instrument switcheroo?!! Check out Lerxt's bass playing on Victor its somewhat Hamfisted!
  5. Pre-ordered the UK fan pack. Will be hitting I-Tunes at Midnight on the release date, so I can crank it at the Gym, plus I may drop coin on any US special edition (s).... Best Buy usually do exclusives on Rush. Shameless fanboy since 87...and I really don't care!
  6. It IS metal.... Its BASTILLE DAY PART 2!!!!!!!!
  7. Im a permanent US resident but a UK citizen, I pre-ordered it. They ship worldwide. It works out to around $27 US.
  8. As Amazon and now Rush Backstage have CA up for pre-order for $19.99. taking into consideration the previous snippets that have hinted at "Suites" and "Epics" and the songtitles I we are going to get not only a FULL concept album but a DOUBLE!
  9. Both amazon and Rush backstage have the album up for pre-order at $19.99. Based on this price point amount of tracks, previous interview snippets of "Suites" and "Epics"......I think that we may be getting a DOUBLE concept album!
  10. Today is a great day, found a parking spot right near the office, (no easy feat in NYC) New Rush that sounds like BASTILLE DAY and the Opeth/Mastodon show at Roseland Tonight!!!
  11. QUOTE (druid13 @ Apr 11 2012, 07:49 AM) How long till some fool like Rick Santorum reads this: "4. The Anarchist " And calls it this: "4. The Antichrist" its a misspelling, the lads have taken leave of their senses and have recorded a cover version of Slayer's classic "The Antichrist!)
  12. While it will be heavy it probably won't be that "Metal" but personally I would flip if they added some Opeth style tri-tone chords and Geddy "Growls!"
  13. Sounds like in 2012, we can expect 2112 Part Deux!
  14. Pure speculation at this point. The boys have said in the past that they don't like the idea of touring without a release to support. So I'm going to stick my neck out I think they will either 1/release a live album of a Time Machine 2010 show. "Rush in Chile" anyone?! 2/go the route The Cult have been releasing capsules (2 new songs every couple of months) and give us a couple more songs from the 'Clockwork Angels" sessions. I would much the second option but either will do!
  15. That is a truly fantastic shot!! Here's my fave of the bunch I took at Mohegan Sun Geddy "Willing" himself to hit a high note in (SPOILER) http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs026.ash2/34668_426906098112_642838112_4724185_4833309_n.jpg
  16. I'm pretty sure its his old bass with a new neck.. Pre-show http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs170.snc4/37830_426881718112_642838112_4723858_4621246_n.jpg You can see some wear on the body in this shot http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs086.ash2/37636_426901748112_642838112_4724117_688354_n.jpg And also the finish looks a little distressed here http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs086.ash2/37636_426901768112_642838112_4724121_7617682_n.jpg
  17. Amazing show Monday night, I'm usually useless with a Camera but for once, I didn't do too bad this time Enjoy! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=4724...99&id=642838112
  18. Its really a case of knowing someone, I have a hook up with someone who works for the band. Its complete blind luck that this has even happened!
  19. It looks like I may have a meet a greet pass for the Mohegan Sun show on Monday Does anyone know what time do the meet and greets take usually place? !!!!
  20. Totally psyched to see the new tracks live! I also think that as the tracks as listed as "Single Versions" We may be treated to some extra Jams! I have a feeling that Caravan (Album/Live Version) is a lot longer than the single version!
  21. First track "Caravan" harkens back to "Counterparts" soundwise, fairly heavy, melodic chorus. No "Choir" of Geddy backing vocals AT ALL, interesting intro, fantastic stop start main riff, plenty of Peart, synths in the background, I also think I can hear some Taurus buried in the mix. Geddy busts out a flamenco bass break half way that leads into a big riff fest with Lerxt and a single note Far Cry style solo. Later is the real solo.....Recorded As a THREE piece! The refrain "I can't stop thinking big" while it may make you snigger on paper, I guarantee will really get under your skin. Second track "BU2B" (Brought up to Believe) Heavy riff, vocals similar in style to "Caravan" vocal melody and structure reminds me of "Trust" by Megadeth. Not bad but not as strong as "Caravan" all round The linear notes (You get a PDF booklet if you download the tracks together) state that these are the the first two parts of "Clockwork Angels" Which makes me think....CONCEPT album, with that said there is a thread both musically and lyrically between the two tracks. So to recapitulate, new Rush= VERY good Rush. Probably slightly better than Snakes and Arrows to my mind, up there with counterparts but as ever its going to take time. "Clockwork" required It should read on the cover.
  22. Its two and a half hours to Albany. Probably at least another half an hour to Saratoga. They usually change crew at Albany so your looking at a bare minimum three hours from Penn Station. SPAC Is my fave place to see Rush I can't recommend it highly enough.
  23. The more I read the more I think that 2112 could be the opener. However in order to go straight into Freewill, they will have to play it in standard tuning. Rush have been playing 2112 tuned down a whole step since 96 to enable Geddy to sing it. So I think we will just get 2112:Overture.
