  1. ABBA has been on rotation lately, and I can't stop and I think I need help. What makes this Swedish Dance group so good?
  2. I figured it'd be nice to have all the news and therories in one thread for this massive release. I'm making it out to be an absolutley fantastic film. I'm stoked on finding out who Snoke is. Theories are out there of him being an ancient Sith from the Old Republic. I hear talk of his connections with the *POSSIBLE SPOILER* In any case, I've never been more pumped for a Star Wars movie.
  3. The Power & The Glory + Octopus are legendary. I love their eclectic and ultraproggy style.
  4. It's a work of art, and among the best album arts of all time
  5. Deftones. Is this even a question? Around the Fur is awesome. Their latest album Gore is great too. SOAD sucks
  6. Dog years -- For every sad son of a bitch
  7. Heaviest: Vapor Trails Poppiest: Presto Atypical: Hold Your Fire HYF/PW's uniqueness is why they're my favorites. PW has this cold, urban, stark sound that can never be or has been emulated. HYF has this Blade Runner, Asian feel that is hyperdynamic and unique.
  8. As a massive Black Metal fan and composer, I say no Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1xD_JUvcGI
  9. Anathema is great. I prefer Weather Systems though. Amorphis is awesome as well
  10. What I played the whole of that video and was swept away by its beauty! What a totally gorgeous and inspiring work! The scuzzy sound and the way all those little nuances fade in and out and the melodies, if you can even call them that...I was listening with my eyes shut and it was just so haunting. Not listened to black metal much, I used to live Emperor and early Satyricon, and that is about it. Recently fallen in love with early Alcest, which is often labelled black metal. But this was something else entirely! Paysage D'hiver is definitely one of my all time favorite bands. The violins in that song are absolutely incredible. Unworldly stuff If you wanna get into his work, my favorite demo of his is by far Schattengang followed by Das Tor and the s/t Welt Aus Eis is on. He has fully ambient works, like the demo Die Fustung and Einsamkeit. I think if you like the spacy melodies, you'd like Schattengang like myself. Here is a link to his bandcamp. All his releases are demos, and a couple splits. When he rarely releases a new demo, get the cassette, it'll be worth it in the end seeing as they're very limited. Also, Alcest is great and you should listen to Lantlos if you like that stuff. Neige (the vocalist of Alcest) did vocals on two Lantlos albums (.neon and Agape) https://paysagedhiver.bandcamp.com/
  11. In the Woods... - Pure First album in like 15 years. One of my favorite bands and a totally unexpected style change. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JY0scq01SBs My Bloody Valentine - Loveless Astounding album, a sonic MASTERPIECE. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chaYm2TqfHM Paysage d'hiver Typical of this artist. My second favorite Black Metal act. The absolute master of atmosphere. His music will make you feel as if you're trapped in a blizzard in the alps and are literally at the edges of your life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSO77ExdzDk
  12. Love HYF, one of Rush's best second to Power Windows, maybe beats it tbh Love CoF. Best 70s album after AFtK and Hemispheres. Vapor Trails is hit and miss. Id say I like it, not love it.
  13. You forgot Moving Pictures. Not in any order: 2112 Moving Pictures Rush
  14. It's much better than that overplayed dad rock anthem "Limelight" "Where's the bud light, Travis? Get off my lawn chair, Bubba"
  15. A good thread to discuss the superiority of HYF. 10/10 best album of theirs, only to have Power Windows follow suit after. 2112, Moving Pictures and Clockwork Angels can be used as toilet paper. Hard Rock pretending to be progressive rock is dead Love, Gene "Rock is Dead" Simmons In all seriousness, HYF is truly my favorite of theirs. It's the album where they're the most stylish, cosmopolitan and it has a slight Blade Runner feel to it, at least from what I get to it...and Blade Runner is my favorite movie
  16. 1. Caravan 2. Clockwork Angels 3. Carnies Everything else is meh. Headlong Flight + Seven Cities of Gold are alright, The Garden is awful and a horrible way to end a career. Highly overrated
  17. Apologies, I saw in the Hurricane Irma thread nobody mentioned Katia.
  18. ^Drunken white trash Frenchman metal What's the filthiest song you know? Doesn't have to be lyrically repulsive or anything
  19. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/4412682/hurricane-katia-latest-path-severe-mexico-atlantic/ When will this stop?
  20. Living in Quebec has me exposed to a lot of good metal bands. Great scene here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEDqndtmyM0 Absolute killer band from Quebec City.
  21. Google the name "Andy Richards" and "Rush", then get back to us. No need to be hostile about it, not everyone can be as perfect as you are No need to be defensive, either. Not being defensive The Tai Shan being a shit song is old. It's not even that bad tbh But what do I know, Late 80's Rush is Best Rush
