LittleRushmonkey
Tom Sawyer, Xanadu, Fly By Night, , Freewill. Would be my guess. No idea of the 4th one. Let's see how wrong I am... Edited July 6, 2015 by LittleRushmonkey
Attttui
First is definitely Tom Sawyer, last is definitely Freewill. The inbetween ones are harder-- my guess isTom Sawyer, Distant Early Warning (maybe?? It sounds like the live version they played in the 90s), Fly By Night (Pretty sure LIttleRushmonkey is right about that one), Roll the Bones (A stretch, but that's the only one I can think of with a rap-type sound), Freewill
R2U1S1H2
I tried roll the bones they said no

circumstantial tree
Don't know the fourth one, but I hear: Tom SawyerCloser to the HeartFly By Night????Freewill
toymaker
I think it's that horrible song on Roll the Bones with the deconstructive primitive performance photorealist blah blah. Edit: nah, that's not what it is. I think the second one is closer to the heart, because you can hear strummed acoustic guitar chords under the bells Any chance the third one is from No One At the Bridge? That fourth one doesn't even sound like Lee. This could drive me nuts. Final edit - the voice sounds a bit like Les Claypool - maybe it's from one of his Rush covers? His version of Spirit at the Hall of Fame thing? Edited July 6, 2015 by toymaker
toymaker
My wife can't figure it out either. Isn't there anyone here who can figure this out??? I've got work to do - I can't become obsessed over this!
Relayer2112
Could the fourth tune possibly be the spoken part of Double Agent?

toymaker
Maybe something from my favourite headache or victor...? I don't think that counts... Unless you know for sure. My wife also wondered if they could be using something from another band that has the word "Rush" in their band name - I think there's a band called "Big Time Rush." I thought that would be too sneaky and mean, though. They'd have to be real low-down dirty bastards to do that, wouldn't they? They're already being cruel by squeezing five songs into a three second clip. Tom Sawyer is for sure (although I've also heard that synthesizer sound used in Roll the Bones live)Closer to the Heart I'm pretty sure aboutNo One at the Bridge is my guess for the third one (guitar after "sea spray blurs my vision")Fourth - ?Freewill is pretty obvious What's the deal with this contest? Does it run until somebody gets it right? Edited July 6, 2015 by toymaker

Does it run until somebody gets it right? For the third one, I think the chord after that part is the same as the chord in Fly By Night-- and since it's sped up so much, it's impossible to tell which is which. Double Agent could very well be the fourth one

Attttui
That is not even Geddy singing! My guess is that it is either heavily altered or they accidently put in the wrong song?
toymaker
That is not even Geddy singing! yeah, it really does not sound like him. I gotta wonder about this contest. I get that it needs to be a challenge, but sheesh. To what extent would they use deep cuts? How sneaky are they trying to be? This reminds me of that old WKRP episode . . . Attttui
I recorded it, and played it back at 1/5 speed--Tom Sawyer, Closer to the Heart, Fly By Night are the first three, Freewill is definitely the last. Almost 100% sure. The fourth one? I have no idea. Slowed down, it sounds nothing like Geddy at all. Very strange.
R2U1S1H2
Yay the contest is for 4 tickets to Rush on the 15 in Calgary! I guess it runs till someone gets it. When I hear the answer I'll let everyone know.
