Yeah...not into the whole Elefante thing... What bothers me, is that Kerry Livgren and Dave Hope left because they got into the whole religious thing...ok.... if you really dig into some of their back catalog, it all DOES have a slight religious slant to it, but nothing that just comes out and sounds like religious music...if ya know what I mean...

Yeah, I tried to listen to the post AV stuff, but seems like a real drop... and i *really* cant get into Elefante. I do have a soft spot for Power, though.

Power isn't a bad disc, really...Musicatto and Taking in the View are a nice little live combo! (I think it was 92 when I saw them, and they stuck that in)

I think it's so funny that Dave Hope is now a minister.

Yeah...wasn't he the most obnoxious one, BITD? (I mean most bass players are....)

Yeah...there was a part where they said something about that....I need to give it another watch

Kansas is a good band, and have been around for as long as Rush, yet Rush is playing sold out arenas and Kansas is playing small clubs and casinos. It's weird how these bands ended up in such different places, but the amount of turnover in that band is probably a big reason why. No consistency.

Decided to revisit Kansas after watching Miracles. Got into them in HS when Power (which I still like) came out, but havent since.

Always knew about Left and POKR, and really think Monolith is great/underrated. But just checked out AudioVisions and really liking it -- good top to bottom.

You guys have any other specific album recs?

You need to check out "Two For the Show". It is such a great live album.

Might watch the DVD, but I am a bit annoyed it doesn't cover the more turbulent era of the band (post-Audio-Visions especially).

Don't get me wrong..the DVD is great, as is the "bonus" disc which has some of the interviews with the guys....but I'd really be interested in seeing the years that Walsh left, and Elefante took over, then when Walsh came back and they kept things going. There's a lot more to their story!

Are there even any book bio's out there? I don't recall ever reading one.

Kerry Livgren wrote a book entitled, "Seeds of Change". I still have my copy but haven't read it in years.

Kansas changed personel several times two....Rush just changed drummers once and the rest is history...

Great and educational DVD. I was fortunate enough to get in on the action early enough to obtain the bonus disc as well.

Great book. I picked it up used from a guy for $10 some time ago. Many of the notes from the AD box set reference the tome.

Just ordered it from Barnes and Noble (had a gift card burning a hole in my drawer) It should be showing up in a day or two! thanks for letting me know that there IS a book!

I finally got around to watch this on bluray.

I really enjoyed it but it was way too short!

No love for "Audiovisions?"

WTF????

Yeah, I agree.. the whole thing just stopped TOO short of the whole story...you'd think that they'd put in what happened with Steve Walsh left, when when he came back and Kerry and Dave left for religious reasons, then the "second coming" when they released the Live at the Whisky stuff and they started getting semi-popular again...then when Robbie came back for a tour, and now that Steve "retired".... More of the story to be told...

I knew some went totally off the Deep End Christian. Never made sense to me but it is what it is.

I was expecting a Steve Morse interview.

Oh well. It came up totally short but I did enjoy it.

The first six albums are great.

As a big fan of Livgren's AD/solo stuff and Kansas, IMO the split worked out in the long run and doubled the output of awesome art. The MooN DVD's bonus disc is the shibby too.
