Test4VitalSigns
Well Johnny Olerud is the 90's guy for sure....the only first baseman I can think of that played in both leagues was Bob Watson(Astros and Bosox) but I can't picture him hitting for the cycle once let alone twice with 2 different teams.. Arndrake
QUOTE (Test4VitalSigns @ May 2 2005, 12:09 AM)What current Big League manager was nicknamed "The Human Rain Delay" during his playing career and why? Being a Mariner fan, I now know this one. In fact I had just heard the answer recently. Mike Hargrove As a player, he was always stepping out of the batter's box to adjust his batting gloves and helmet, constantly slowing down the game when at bat. Ty Cobb is the first name that comes to mind. And it would be a bunch of seasons, unless he had injuries that limited his at bats somewhere along the way. Arndrake
QUOTE (Test4VitalSigns @ May 2 2005, 03:05 PM)I'll go with Wade Boggs....not sure what the years but in 80's obviously OK, I'll give it to you. The years were '83 to '89. 7 years, quite an achievement if you think about it. Ichiro is sure trying to accomplish the same thing now and I'll think he'll do it, already has 4 years. I know some critics say the only reason he gets some hits is because he legs out some bloops that would normally be outs, but nobody said there were supposed to be rules on how you get your hits.
