Hey folks before I go to RushCon and after I graduate i'm gettin myself a new guitar smile.gif Was just wondering your opinion first...Most likely to be getting a Gibson...always wanted one and now I want one. I was either thinking the usual Les Paul drool1.gif or an Epiphone archtop (ya know the one that Alex has smile.gif I know his is a 355....but I like the 335 that I saw in the local guitar shop near my house smile.gif....still don't know what to get...and can someone please tell me the diff between hallowed and semi hallowed guitars?

I'll show you a few that I like...

Goth Les Paul Studio one

Goth

335 dot..

335

And I absoultly wouldn't mind an SG..

Well,

I want an American Deluxe Telecaster...for some reason. I've been dreaming about them. wacko.gif

They are about $1000 less than a Gibson but still versatile with the S-1 switching. Any more thoughts?

mmmm...Cobalt noiseless pickups....

D-13, given your choices I would go with the 335. A Gibson Angus SG will be quite expensive, in the 2-3 k range. Their other models will be less expensive, but still arond $1100, maybe less. I would choose a Les Paul Standard over the Goth. A Goth model may not have a maple top, part of the Les Paul signature sound and design. Without the maple top it is a thick single cut SG.

MSC, an American Deluxe Tele is a nice piece. Worth the money.

Yeah, if you can find a good Les Paul Standard for your price range get that above all else. The Standards have really nice wood finishes (except of course for Gold Tops) and are all about the tone. Some Les Paul Customs don't even have maple tops. They just don't have the same tone.

That's a Gibson guitar. A headstock fix can be done. I've seen it. It ain't cheap, but for $5 initial investment, taking it to a good luthier will yield a nice sounding piece, I reckon.
