Albone2112 Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I know the radio hits, but should I start at the beginning and work my way up, or is there a masterpiece in the middle somewhere?
Hatchetaxe&saw Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Most of it's really good, but quality got patchy from Gaudi onwards. I'd pick these 4: Tales Of Mystery and Imagination The Turn Of A Friendly Card Eye In The Sky Ammonia Avenue

I'd pick these 4: Tales Of Mystery and Imagination The Turn Of A Friendly Card Eye In The Sky Ammonia Avenue This is a good list. "Tales" gives you a good insight into their late 70s sounds, if you like that you can get "I Robot" and "Pyramid" which are on the same vibe. "Turn of a Friendly Card" is good to get into the 80s, also "Eye in the Sky" has most of the hits and probably the Project masterpiece, "Silence and I". "Ammonia Avenue" is also very good. Check out also "Freudiana", even if it isn't credited, is a full Project album by all means.

Their "hits" ("Eye in the Sky" and "Games People Play" being their two biggest) were culled from those albums, and you also get the Edgar Allan Poe-inspired "Tales of Mystery and Imagination." Their songs are mostly hit or miss, but it's good pop-Prog.
