Got to shoot them on assignment yesterday for Pegasus News...

Rush @ Superpages.com Center 9/26/2010

Words cannot describe how awesome it is to be that close to your idols!

I could only post up to 20 shots on Pegasus, but I'll have about twice that many on my own blog in a few days... will update when I do!

Hope you enjoy!

Danny

Nice shooting Danny, yea it is very cool to be up that close. 2.gif I'm still sorting though my 411 images that I shot at Bristow on the 18th. 653.gif

I was lucky to get a photography credential for a magazine shoot that night

The rest of your shots are nice as well. Neil was doing a great job of ducking down behind his drum kit...very hard to catch with his head up...but I did get one that I liked smile.gif

Yea, it was a BITCH trying to shoot Neil! With that video track in the way it made it impossible to get to the other side to get a good shot. You got a good one though... that little mic in front was pushed over farther at our show... it was crossing his face at all times!

Wicked nice shots! If you don't mind my asking, what were you using for gear, settings, etc.?

Yep, the track was on my left side, so I could not cross center stage to get right in front of Alex. Next year I hope its not there.

I really think they might put out a DVD of this tour. I saw alot of behind the stage and off stage filming equipmet at Bristow. One of the techs I spoke with before the show said they would be doing alot of filming once they arrived in South America. trink39.gif

Always the TECH questions laugh.gif wink.gif

What catches me most is the sharpness, which points out a very tiny shutter time, and a lot of light through that lense.

LSM is right, what R your settings???

Great pics. I wish I could have gotten those seats. My son and I were at the show. RUSH was awesome. One of the best RUSH concerts that I have been to.

Ok, I have recieved a couple of requests to share my gear selection and settings from my last Rush photoshoot, so here you go...take notes

Camera(s) Canon EOS 1D

Len(s) Canon 28-200 3.5

100-400 2.8

Settings: Dropped my F-stop down by 1

F 3.5- F8

ISO 200-250

Shutter 160 to 200

FPS-high

AI-track

I focused mainly on faces, for better color saturation and for sharpness.

I selected my own F-stops, shutter speeds and ISO rates as I needed for the changing light.

Hope this information helps

My plan is to do just that. I would like to build a nice 3 image set from the show images I have, then have them mounted and framed with the photo credential.

It will look great in my media room. 2.gif
