Eddie and the Cruisers

I did several searches here in VV to check for a thread on this and came up empty. So, if I somehow missed a thread, I apologize. But anyway....

This was on earlier tonight. I hadn't watched it in, oh, about 25 years. But I loved it as a kid.

Yeah, at times its classic cheese, but it really is a good rock and roll movie and the soundtrack (to me) is really fun, good time R&R that I enjoy listening to.

And I think Michael Pare nails the part of Eddie. A young Tom Berenger is intriguing as the "Word Man." and Joe Pantoliano is perfectly cheesy and the bands manager.

This film is such a guilty pleasure of mine, I can't believe I've never discussed this before here.

Anyway, I'll turn it over to you guys. What do you think of the film and what are your favorite performances/parts?

Wow Snowdog!!

Incredible timing!

When I was over in Maui there was this awesome classic rock station called KROCK.

Well they played their hit "The Dark Side" and it brought back all kinds of memories.

I loved watching this movie over and over again on HBO!

There is no doubt that this movie is a CLASSIC!!!

laugh.gif I must've seen this one on HBO 50 times as a kid. Knew every line. Loved the movie.

And saw it again tonight for the first time in about 25 years +/-

And it was kinda cheesy, but I loved every minute of it trink39.gif

I was at the concert filming (end of the flick) of Eddie & The Cruisers II. Had no idea they were going to be doing that. I was there to see Bon Jovi. biggrin.gif

Wild! Was it the "Slippery When Wet" Tour?

I saw that tour with Cinderella.

That is too funny! We are almost the same age!! I was born in 1968, so that makes me a kid too watching that movie 50 times or more back then.

I need to see this movie again now! It's been decades! I don't even think this movie is pressed onto a dvd. What a shame!

Speaking of your "loved every minute of it" comment, I couldn't help but think of another cheesy band that was big back then.

No, I do believe it was either Jersey or Keep The Faith, although any more I don't remember which one. Filmed live at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas baby!!

imdb.com:

The concert scenes were filmed in a Las Vegas arena before a Bon Jovi show (New Jersey tour). The stage set up is the actual stage set up Bon Jovi used for their show.

My only "appearance" (LOL) in a feature film.

I don't think I ever saw the movie...I remember when it came out, and the song that was popular from it...But I can't remember a thing about it.

Neither can I. biggrin.gif
