Yeah this song is on one of the edited versions of Saturday Night Fever.

There is another one out there that beats even this. If I find it, I'll post it.

Ladies and gentlemen, the following is probably the one tune that made sure disco would die a horrible death.

Just remember that it was 1979 when there was a big disco record burning at one of the football stadiums. Same year as that tune. Ya gotta wonder!

July 12, 1979. The Chicago White Sox were scheduled to the play the Detroit Tigers in a twi-night doubleheader at Old Comiskey Park. Admission was $0.98 and a disco record.

The records were collected for a "Disco Sucks!" rally between games, concluding in a massive explosion to destroy all the disco records collected in Comiskey's center field.

Just one problem -- the fans rioted. The Sox forfeited the second game.

There were over 50,000 fans inside Comiskey Park that night. An estimated 10,000 more were outside the park trying to get tickets and at least 10,000 more hopelessly stuck in a massive traffic jam on the Dan Ryan Expressway.

Actually it was a baseball game. There was a near riot and The White Sox had to forfeit the 2nd game of a doubleheader....

The Cars - Let's Go

now we're getting into new wave, which is more tolerable for me than disco...

i remember this playing at putt putt when I was in 7th grade. quite a few cute girls would dance to this so I mostly have good memories of this time period.

let's keep the party goin...

After Jeff Beck, there was really no way for Rod to go but down...

rofl3.gif

I have seen him 9 or 10 times. yes.gif

And that song has been played at least 5 of those times. rofl3.gif

he's got a great voice, I just think he never sounded better than his debut with Beck, with the exception of his guest spot on "People Get Ready" (also Beck). Young turks is a great tune though...
