Yes, folks, this was popular at one time. Yeah this song is on one of the edited versions of Saturday Night Fever. There is another one out there that beats even this. If I find it, I'll post it. circumstantial tree
Just remember that it was 1979 when there was a big disco record burning at one of the football stadiums. Same year as that tune. Ya gotta wonder!
lerxt1990
July 12, 1979. The Chicago White Sox were scheduled to the play the Detroit Tigers in a twi-night doubleheader at Old Comiskey Park. Admission was $0.98 and a disco record. Click Here to Hear! Steve Dahl talks about Disco Demolition and White Sox Interactive. Courtesy dahl.com The records were collected for a "Disco Sucks!" rally between games, concluding in a massive explosion to destroy all the disco records collected in Comiskey's center field. Just one problem -- the fans rioted. The Sox forfeited the second game. There were over 50,000 fans inside Comiskey Park that night. An estimated 10,000 more were outside the park trying to get tickets and at least 10,000 more hopelessly stuck in a massive traffic jam on the Dan Ryan Expressway. darrenhigh
The Cars - Let's Go now we're getting into new wave, which is more tolerable for me than disco... i remember this playing at putt putt when I was in 7th grade. quite a few cute girls would dance to this so I mostly have good memories of this time period. Young turks is a great tune though...
