Sticklah
Just wondering why some keyboardists like to have there keyboards on an angle.
TheRocinanteKid
Basically just because it makes it easier to play. Doesn't go any deeper than that really. If you're not rich/lucky enough to look cool with a Moog look cool with an angled keyboard.
Cowtothesky
I would have my main 2 keyboards not angled and the other 2 keyboards angled down at about 45 degrees. I use the angled one's for the little effects and single note things (or just midi). My main keys I play flat because I grew up playing pianos and it is just what I am used to. Occasionally, I will use one of the angled synths for a solo or something, but rarely. I think it is just situational - whatever feels the most comfortable for the player. the masked drummer
You mean angled like this? http://www.museresearch.com/i/wts/live/derek_sherinian.png Not only easier to play but lets the audience see what you're doing to connect the sound to the key. Same philosophy I take when setting up a drum set. It should be visually exciting. If you're hiding behind your instrument, then you're "playing with yourself" and not looking very entertaining, right? Might as well be in your basement. progrush2112
I don't know why Derek Sherinian does that. Always been curious. I guess we'll have to ask him if one of us ever meets the guy.
