I havent got a f-ing clue whats going on or why RF might leave, but dont for goodness sakes.

I am also 40ish and feeling 90ish. I had no idea at this stage Id have so many "specialists" in my f-cking contacts list - its sad, but a reality.

Keep your pecker up.

So is he gone or not? The whole farewell post/grand re-enterence thing never works well. If you say you're going to go, than go. As an outsider, this whole going away and coming back thing appears to be a way of winning people over. I don't know you, but that's how it reads.

And now I exit TRF again.

Why are you exiting? You leaving too? unsure.gif

I try to keep my TRF visits to once a week. Being on every day, let alone 10 hours a day like I have been since I joined, was getting sad.

Why? Was it preventing you from doing something else in your life?

This perception that people have no lives cuz they spend a lot of time here is kinda weird. What's the difference if someone spends ten hours here, bullshitting with people they care about or just want to argue with... or spending ten hours in a bar doing the same thing, only drinking and possibly driving afterwards?

Some people have reasons for not being out in the "real world". Be it physical problems, or mental problems, or financial problems. So they come here... then uppity f*cks degrade them for it? I don't get that reasoning Stand.

There was a reason you used to come here so much right? WHY or how is it that NOW you are so much better than those that still spend a lot of time here?

Please explain that one to me. yes.gif

He's saying that being on an internet forum board is what was sad RF. He's better than the rest of us now.

Necro,

A lot of people agree with Stand. Including myself. I used to be the same way...I would be on TRF for hours on end. It wasn't healthy whatsoever AND there were a lot of members that were posting 2 years ago...that are not here anymore. sad.gif Thats the reason I don't post as often anymore. Plus I work 2 jobs and will be going to school in Nov.

A message board for when I was 16-17 years old was something to do, because I had nothing to do...I had tons of extra time and more time to avoid school (NOT a good thing!)...now that i'm 19...I find I have tons of crap to do....when I go to Toronto, i'm going to be hardly on, simply because music school is going to be the most important thing.

Probably different reasons for different lifestyles...but thats why i'm not on here as much. and no one really has an open mind of music...as much as other boards I am on.

Ken, thanks for taking me in a totally wrong way laugh.gif

I've reprioritized, that's all. I write a lot more, both words and music. I hike a lot more, I go out on weekends, instead of staying in. The last thing I'd want is for you to think I'm putting myself above anyone else, as that's ridiculous. Especially if you know me, because I'm extremely self-depracating. At one time (for about a year and a half) TRF made me extremely happy, and I loved being on here daily. But then I drifted to other boards, and then drifted away from those, and for awhile, the internet as a whole.

I love all the old members here, and the newer members (since I've "left") seem very cool. But it just seemed that for awhile, every time I chose to come on here, it was drama central. Literally, the last two times I remember posting in here (Rand. Samp) were in this thread, and in dweez's farewell. So that pushed me away.

But all in all, I love this board, but I've found myself much happier coming here sporadically, instead of being here hourly. Nothing against anyone here, as I've made some great friends through this site.

Well I said I am leaving on January 1st, and I'm keeping my promise to that too. So my last day is December 31st. Why I'm saying this is for the people that have been pming me and the best friends I ever met here. unsure.gif

Really? I actually think that this board is too small, which makes everyone tight-knit, which then begins drama. The other board I frequent is antsmarching.org, which has 131,108 "active" (have signed in in the last 6 months) users, and there's rarely drama, just because it get's squeezed out on the boards, forcing it to PM's.

drama is everywhere, leaving here doesn't mean you can escape it altogether.
