That's actually an excellent analogy for another reason:  people often say "right place, right time," in hindsight.  Nirvana, like the Beatles, weren't "lucky."  They played a huge role in creating the demand for their style of music.  People weren't looking for Nirvana-style music and, bam!, they just happened to pop up.  Nirvana came on the scene and people's musical tastes changed.  They didn't do it alone, but as someone who was in their early 20s in the late 80s, I can say they were the first ones I remember being huge.  Then came Ten, and Core, and it was off to the races.
