Here's the musicians:

Russell Ferrante - keyboards

Jimmy Haslip - bass

Ricky Lawson - drums

Robben Ford - guitar

Lenny Castro - percussion

Paulinho da Costa - percussion

Bobby Lyle - acoustic piano (on Sittin' in It)

Roland Bautista - guitar (on Sittin' in it)

Larry Williams - tenor sax and flutes

Jerry Hey - trumpet and flugelhorn (flugelhorn solo on The Hornet)

Ernie Watts - tenor sax (on Matinee Idol)

Bill Reichenbach - trombones

Gary Herbig - tenor sax and flute

Kim Hutchcroft - tenor and baritone saxophones

Yo, the Yellowjackets are sick! I loved that bass all the way through, and the piano on the last tune was beautiful!

Yeah Russell Ferrante is one of those guys that no one talks about when it comes to top jazz piano players but he's as good as anyone.

The bass player is great too.

There is soooooooo much to type about in this thread!

Check out The Crusaders featuring the great Larry Carlton.

Two of my favorite jazz "fusion" albums are

Chuck Mangione "Feels So Good"

Herb Alpert "Rise"

Lee Ritenour "Captain Fingers"

Herbie Herbert "Handcock "Head Hunters"

I'm listening to Larry Carlton right now, On Solid Ground from 1989 I think it was.

Incredible timing buddy! Larry Rules!!

Aye!

All in Good Time is a really great song off this album!

The title track is a bit hokey but ok.

There's quite a few albums from that band. I was looking for the one with Ray Gomez but it's not there. The main feature of this band is Vibes!

You need this album, world music, flamenco, classical, tango and jazz:

I bought this album in 1992 at the same time as KISS MY AXE, they came out at roughly the same time. I got it from HMV US import on Tomato Records! Both of them are on Tomato Records.
