  1. I still have all my CD's, although they've been made "digital" in my PC. I do have one thing (well, 3) that most people I've asked don't . . . I have the old LaserDisc versions of ESL, GUP and ASOH !! Something interesting; I remember when they released the Rush Replay X3 which are the DVD versions of those live shows. The official review remarked (I think it was on Amazon) that " . . . and for the first time "Limelight on a live recording . . ." or something like that. Well, while there was no live version of Limelight on any of the audio releases or the VHS version, it does exist on the LaserDisc version. Just an interesting side note.
  2. Actually, I have mixed feelings about them touring again right now. Sure, I'd love to see them again (and will) but I was hoping it would be in support of "Clockwork Angels". I was figuring on them having finished up in South America and then, after the holiday season, going back into the studio and finishing CA for release in 2011 and THEN going back out on tour. Anyone want to speculate on a CA release date?
  3. If I had to guess, I'll say Clockwork Angels will come out in 2011 but I wouldn't count on a tour until 2012. I hope they tour next year but I think it will depend upon them finishing and releasing CA first. And with Neil having a very young child, I'm thinking he'd like to spend some time at home. Just a guess on the above, though.
  4. It's nice to hear (in one of the earlier posts) that he's taking voice lessons. That'll allow him to sing far longer than if he didn't. If they're not already (like they are for 2112/Temples) they should play detuned. That'd help for longevity as well. Personally, I don't care what he sounds like. As long as they keep touring, I'll keep going.
  5. The "Icon" compilation is just Mercury Records trying to capitalize on the current Rush-mania. Rush releases their albums, and have for some time, through Atlantic now.
  6. QUOTE (mgcygnus @ Aug 8 2010, 12:10 PM) One of the funniest moment being when he butchered one part of a song so badly Geddy turned to him and asked. " Where are you?" Alex proceeded to feign embarrassment and walked behind his amps to hide. That was funny. It was the part after the 2112 Intro and just before Temples starts where Geddy sings, "And the meek shall inherit the earth . . ." Alex completely blew it. They were ALL laughing. It was pretty funny.
  7. QUOTE (rushfan1966 @ Aug 8 2010, 03:09 PM) Wow, what a show!!!!!!! I brought my son who is 6 years old to his second concert. We had great seats, 1st row section 102 so he could stand agaist the rail when he wanted to. At first he was scared about Witch Hunt, but he still got into it. He had a homemade concert shirt on and he was holding the shirt that he had on last year that says, "Future Drummer Need Sticks" That shirt caught Geddy's eye during the second song. He kept looking at my son and the shirt and how much fun he was having, especially after "Witch Hunt" was over. He was dancing in the walkway In fact a lot of people started watching him instead of the show. Right after the encore started I got a tap on the shoulder, one of the roadies came up and gave my son a pair of Neil's sticks. The look on his face was priceless. Then he got into even more. The guy working crowd control told us that we could move to the center, behind the rail of course. That was nice of him because before the show started I asked him if he could move over 3 feet so my son could see better and he said "NO" flat out and without any compassion. I thought "What a D**K" "He can't see the all of the stage you a**hole." He turned out to be cool later on though. To Janie, I am so glad that you got to go and good seats on top of that, Bonus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also loved "Time Stands Still"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn, I should have thought of something like that. That is VERY cool what they did.
  8. QUOTE (Workaholic Man @ Aug 5 2010, 02:55 PM) QUOTE (losingit2k @ Aug 4 2010, 09:49 PM)No but you can already start complaining about the set list if you like? I never complain about the set list. It's THEIR music, and they will play whatever they want. We're so frickin' lucky that they're still recording and touring at their age....and at a high performance level, too. We should all be on our knees chanting THANK YOU over and over again..... Dude, I could not agree more with you. I'd almost use the word "blessed" in how fortunate we ALL are that they are still creating new music AND touring. As long as they're performing, I'll go to see them and be thankful for whatever songs they care to play. If I had to guess, this tour is a "shake out the cobwebs and get some inspiration" tour; it's only 3-months long. When Clockwork Angels comes out next year, I'm sure there'll be a much longer tour. After that, I can envision the day where their "tours" become the kind where they'll play maybe 10 or 15 large cities for 2-3 days at a time instead of a show every other day like it is for this one. Just a guess, though.
  9. I'm with you. I'm thankful that they still produce new music and still tour. I'll keep going to shows as long as they keep playing. As far as the songs go . . . I don't care what they play. I'll go . . . and love it. There are far too many "fairweather" fans on this site. They disappoint me. I think some talk just to hear their own voices.
