  1. QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Jun 19 2012, 04:32 PM) Yes, it is. Other albums had themes, but this is the first album that tells an actual story from start to finish using all of the songs. No other Rush album does that.
  2. QUOTE (johndyar @ Jun 18 2012, 01:07 PM) December, 1974 at the Cleveland Agora was the first time. Next was a year later in 1975 (November I think) at the Akron Civic Theater opening for Ted Nugent. They played The Necromancer! As Bubbles would say, "Oh my f@#$!" That's awesome!
  3. QUOTE (treeduck @ Jun 19 2012, 04:46 PM) I used to watch Mork and Mindy when I was a curly-headed teenager back in 1979... Nanoo Nanoo? Whatever happened to Pam Dawber? I used to have a soft spot for her...well a hard spot... I like where this conversation is headed!

Something that was clearly distracting me from the task at hand! So sorry dear treeduck!
  5. QUOTE (Django @ Jun 19 2012, 04:36 PM) Mork and Mindy? Yes. And, uh, what exactly was the point of that GIF there, sir?

  10. QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Jun 19 2012, 12:41 PM) Last tour, I was in line with my Marathon sign and I spoiled it for the person in front of me who didn't want to know any of the songs being played. Whoops!.. What was your "Marathon" sign?!
  11. QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ Jun 19 2012, 12:23 PM) QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 19 2012, 11:42 AM) I would like to see a LIMIT on alcohol consumption at concerts- I've been showered with beer, jostled out of the way countless times by dudebros leaving during the show to get beer, and have endured many disgusting drunk comments by Rush fans who don't know when to STFU. Yeah. Chalk me up as "not a fan" I definitely hear you on that one. BUT...remember that not everyone is like that. I enjoy having a few beers, like maybe 1-2 during the show. But I've been to many concerts where I don't have any. I'm not a big drinker, but I enjoy a brew or two during Rush. Nothing wrong with it. But yes...people who take it too far are idiots. Those are the people that need to be "cut off" from the tap. Most certainly, I know people can hold their liquor and not act like a complete jackass. Hell, I usually don't drink before a Rush concert but I HAVE- it's all about being responsible! It sucks when 40- or 50somethings decide to let loose and pretend they're 25 again and all bets are off
  12. QUOTE (liddybuck01 @ Jun 19 2012, 12:31 PM) QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 19 2012, 11:05 AM) QUOTE (ALifeson85 @ Jun 19 2012, 11:48 AM) Hell no...i buy tickets as soon as I possibly can. Why risk getting stuck with shitty seats, just because you wanted to "wait" and see what the setlist is going to be? Well, in some cases you can still end up with a great seat (if you're willing to pay)! Waaayyyy back in 2008 I found a 3rd row aisle seat, Geddy side, for the Mohegan Sun show on Ticketmaster the day of the concert! if i can scrape up the money by then, this is what i'm hoping will happen. i must be one of the few Rush fans that is poor Many of us have made huge sacrifices to tour with this band of ours Worth every penny, I say. . .
  13. QUOTE (ReGorLaTroy @ Jun 15 2012, 04:48 PM) Ok, I wasn't expecting this from The Coop, but I have to admit, I think it is kind of cool... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWPAUimefCg...player_embedded ...who said Alice Cooper couldn't shock audiences anymore! I'm strangely turned on by this!
  14. QUOTE (hunter @ Jun 15 2012, 10:02 PM) No Rush show on your birthday? That sucks. Happy Birthday anyway! Somehow I managed to soldier on! *sniff*
  15. QUOTE (CrossedSignals @ Jun 15 2012, 04:15 PM) Oh and happy birthday, Kelly D! Cheers to the only Rush fan under 25 who's been to 17 shows! Oh, there's gotta be another one out there! . . . Maybe? My friend MermaidoftheLunarSea has been a fan longer than I have so she may win that title
  16. QUOTE (treeduck @ Jun 15 2012, 02:21 PM) Happy Birthday to Kelly my mum! Yes I'm her young son! Isn't that amazing? YOU FORGOT TO PUT "SPOILER ALERT" ON IT!!! YEESH!!!
  17. QUOTE (nobodys hero @ Jun 15 2012, 01:34 PM) Happy Birthday Kelly! I know it can't measure up to last's years but I hope it's a great one anyway! I'm pretty sure NO birthday, save for another private M&G with Big Al, will ever top my 23rd!
  18. QUOTE (Del_Duio @ Jun 15 2012, 11:42 AM) Ah to be 24 again.. Don't waste it, kid! Carpe Rush-em, is what I say
  19. OMG THANKS EVERYONE!!! I had a blast this weekend- it wasn't exactly meeting Alex Lifeson backstage or getting Neil's drumsticks but it was pretty damn awesome anyway! Big hugs to everyone!
  20. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Jun 18 2012, 11:41 PM) QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 18 2012, 10:39 PM) No peeking for me- I'm going to opening night! Congrats we'll be hanging on your every tweet! I don't tweet- I'm not a twit! I'll be rocking out/weeping with joy/singing along to every word- someone in the nosebleeds can text/post on TRF or RIAB
  21. QUOTE (Gompers @ Jun 19 2012, 11:02 AM) QUOTE (Kelly D @ Jun 19 2012, 09:56 AM) QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Jun 19 2012, 02:55 AM) QUOTE (D3strukt @ Jun 18 2012, 11:51 PM) It's a double-entrende. Ticking clock, and a count in. Dude! You know your shit! I've been playing drums for 28 years and I don't know what a double-entrende is! Awesome!!!! I'm a grip it and rip it drummer. I play by the ear. Don't read at all. No wonder I play alone in my garage and at my office. I need to find a band!!! A double entendre is an English language thing, not a drum thing Maybe he was thinking double paradiddle. You said "diddle."
