Birds chirping in empty sheds and the rattling of air conditioning in arenas. That is what will be played for the "R40 Tour." Bank on it.

I wanted to go see joe Walsh and Bob Segar but a buddy of mine convinced me to go see Rush again. Closest is Hershey, PA - so I spent about 1/2 hour going through tickets and was offered 8th row center. THIS MORNING!!!!!! Good things come to those who wait indeed!

:goodone: True! I have been basted by folks on this forum for stating the same fact. Why can't Rush do the same???????? Iron Maiden does it right!!!!!!! I have never had an option (as a first option) other than pit tix for Iron Maiden shows via the fan pre-sale.

To be honest, if the band was as thankful to their fans as they claim that they are, such bs would not take place. As I have said earlier, and I know that some of you take offense to this, there are bands out there that are indeed fan friendly and go out of their way to provide the best ticket buying experience as possible. I can honestly say that Rush is NOT one of them.

Ok - edit that....offer all AVAILABLE tickets that are available from best to worst on a general sale. All this pre, platinum, vip stuff gone. One sale starting at 10:00 on a given day and go... Not rocket science and fair to aLL FANS OF ALL WALKS OF LIFE. Folks can jump right in or wait it out to see if any tickets are returned. I am thinking that if folks have the knowledge that they are competing for all the best seats available and not just little crumbs here and there it would be a happier world.

I wonder if pre-sales were eliminated there would be less griping about ticket allocation. Offer them all up at once starting with row 1 and go back. Tickets given in order of log in. Before someone gives the old standby comment of, "The system would be overloaded if they did that," think about how far advanced technology has become. I KNOW they have the capability to do it without problems. Blast away.....

I wish you the best for the seats you desitre!!!!! However, in all fairness and equity, I would advocate for an elimination of all pre-sale tickets and just have one general ticket sale for all concerts. Why should a certain "class" of people have the benefit of a pre-sale over others (esp. with credit card pre-sales). Eliminate this shiite and one might find happiness.

I do like that some bands will automatically offer pit tix to their fans in pre-sales. That is what I call "fan friendly."

LOL @ Kahn. I have been reading ticket agency policies for about the last 2 days. I even examined the "pre-sale" policies regarding ticket distribution. I fail to see where there is a promise that only the best seats will be distributed to fans at the beginning of each sale. However, they do promise that seats will be available to fans. Sort of akin to the folks on the opening day of Trout Season complaining to their respective fish commissions that they did not fill their creel limit. No one promised them a rose garden ya know...but the opportunity is there. Just pointin' out the obvious.

TM tour you knew where you were sitting. CA Tour it was a surprise - being one who enjoys surprises, I was not put off by the fact that I did not know where my seats were. Knowing that I would be seing Rush was good enough for me.

I have went the VIP way three times. I probably will not do it again because I generally prefer sitting back further to catch the whole stage dynamic. I would use VIP if I never had the chance to score 10th (TM Show - Pittsburgh, Pa), 3rd (Bristow, VA - TM Tour), and 1st row tickets (Pittsburgh, Pa - CA Tour). It was well worth it to me.

Thanks for adding that! I've always felt the same, it's good to hear it from someone else. It's been largely by choice that I've always sat further back, usually somewhat, altho not very, high up off the floor, and preferably as centered as possible. I hate being turned for that long. Having said that, it would be nice to sit closer too, particularly having seen a couple of shows already. But you have me thinking again now. I guess for me it's going to be one of those things where ten years from now I'm kicking myself saying "I wish I had ..." LOL Have you ever sat in the wings but up close? It's been decades since I sat there, and it wasn't for a Rush show. Anyway, if so, how's that in contrast? Since 1982, I think that I have sat in just about every part of an indoor venue for a Rush show (last show center row 1). My favorite places to sit for indoor venue have been about 10 rows up from the floor directly across from the stage. I have been 5 rows up stage left and right; floor rows 1,3,5,7,8, and 10, center sections of arenas section 5-15 rows up...(probably second favorite). One thing for sure, I am done with floor seats for arenas. If you ever have the means to get real close, do it!

I'm bloody angry at the ticketing arrangements where there is a hidden 2 tier system that is not made clear at the point of trying to purchase tickets. As l said, l knocked back better tickets in the mistaken belief that l would have got better, not necessarily best seats given I was on the case at 9am on the dot. The reality is that I and many others had ZERO chance of getting better tickets because of an arbitrary policy employed by Live Nation which is not explicitly clear at the time of purchase. And if you think that is acceptable, There are countless threads regarding some of the best methods to secure good seats. It seems that you went into the process without a clue as to how things run, while many of us do. If this was the first tour or even the first time ever that any event has had this issue, then yes...I see your rant. But honestly, this is old news and many have discovered ways to improve their lot in the ticket acquisition game. Calling people names becaise they don't offer you a shoulder to cry on is cowardly and juvenile. Yeah, i remember freezing my ass off for 5th row Rush for Moving Pictures Tour. I loved the old way of doing things, but I also have adapted to the new way. Charles Darwin wrote about the concept many moons ago.

WK90 - I remember you from the show. I was about 4 seats to your right - red/black hat (looking at the vid I can see my goofiness shining through).. If I remember correctly, you got stix too. In any event, as much as I loved being close again for a Rush show, I prefer to be elevated and further back. It is a stunning visual event that has a lot going on at once. sitting too close, one misses out on that. So for me "decent" tickets are further back and elevated. Sin - nice way to add to a discussion by calling someone a retard. Classy dude! You are the one that is not acceptable. The True Rush fan will sit in the very last row and have the time of their life. EXCELLENT seats can be had without going VIP - Just read the the posts on here. So tell me once again - what is the problem? Oh, the problem is that YOU personally cannot get them, because of whatever reason that you wish to give, but others can. Ok...understood. Now...go cry some more...there is more spilled milk on the floor.

"...discriminate against true fans." Oh my...there is that phrase once again. I love how it is tossed out there as if it has meaning when someone gets pissy over feelings of "being left out."

Many of us have grown up past the point that we HAVE to be on the floor and close. As visual as their shows are, IMO it is better to be a little elevated and away from the stage. I have had very close seats for the past couple of tours. I will get elevated seats in the future for indoor gigs. However, there are those that wish to carry on their tantrums....

LMAO! God forbide if critics don't just fall over Rush and everything they do or have done. Know what though? That is why I have enjoyed Rush since 1979......the "voices of reason" loathed them. The remark regarding the RRHOF - interesting....I still believe they got the nod 'cos they wished the detractors to just go away and leave them along. Just my .02. I dream of the day that Rush becomes unpopular again....perhaps then I can feel good about enjoying what the "masses" don't. I look forward to much more trash talk regarding Rush...it is called VALIDATION....RRHOF validates NOTHING!

I can understand and respect all the points being made here. I believe that some of their other recognitions rank higher (much higher to be exact) than this. Rush deserves to be recognized for their musical accomplishments and their contributions to rock music. They don't need to be inducted because all of a sudden they are "cool." Quite honestly, I believe the latter is the reasoning they are finally being inducted. If it is...then it is a shallow victory. I am going to leave this alone for it seems to be the "unpopular" opinion.

Nope....will listen to them about the same as I ever have. However, I find it quite ironic that a significant amount of people have historically painted the "Hall" n a negative light (for not recognizing true talent as per some of the artists that have made it in), but now rejoice that Rush has been finally recognized by such a shady institution. Only one word comes to mind..... In any event, regardless of what the rest of the world has though about Rush before this, during this, and after this, IMO Rush is the greatest band that Canada has produced. Furthermore, they will simply be my favorite band. I just don't feel anything special about it now though....

Wow....you really missed the plane on its way to Zimbabwe. It is ok though...nerdiness is no longer nerdiness once it has become popular.
