  1. Well, at least you won't lose your job if you get popped with a random. Contact highs do not contain any of the stuff that those tests look for. Besides, A LOT of Rush's music sounds GREAT while stoned. Hell, about two years ago, I took a slab of LSD (I'm not old though, only 20.) and tripped out on the entire AFTK, Hemispheres, and PeW albums, and I STILL WASN'T DONE. (I think I listened to Working Man on repeat while I half slept because I was up for 2 days on the shit.) But I was tired of music, so we just got into this giant discussion about how it would be if Humans and Birds had social and bodily switches. Humans shitting on birds cars and stuff. Yeah, I know. Weird. EDIT: Oh wait, they actually pass it on to you? I thought you were talking about second hand pot smoke. That's a big no-no then. I want nothing to do with someone elses blunt.
  2. Dio. (52 years in the music buisness, unfortunately cut short) Glenn Hughes. (Sometime in the 70's, DP singer) Ian Gillian David Coverdale. Tony Martin.
  3. Atlanta was filmed from the avi proshot cameras. So maybe they did the same thing, this time.
  4. QUOTE (Pause Rewind Replay @ Sep 30 2010, 01:20 PM) QUOTE (D3strukt @ Sep 28 2010, 04:13 PM) QUOTE (briremo @ Sep 28 2010, 01:47 PM) QUOTE (D3strukt @ Sep 28 2010, 08:00 AM) I was going to go. But unfortunately, it's pretty far, 3 hour drive, from Orlando. It suck! Sorry, Rush, I want to see you badly. PSH, I live in Orlando, Longwood actually...AND WE'RE GOING! I think I'm going to cry now. ;_; Sheeit, I'm coming down from Jacksonville on Greyhound. 8 hours down and 9 going back (I love 3 hour Orlando layovers ) Over in the Time Machine Hot Tub a place called Duffy's was mentioned as a possible meetup, but I don't think anything "official" was arranged As for how to recognize me in row 6, look for a 4-eyed, brown-haired geek in a white Vapor Trails T-shirt . Take Amtrak, it's cheaper, by far.

  7. They might not want to wait TOO much longer. What if his ear infection DOESN'T go away?
  8. QUOTE (micgtr71 @ Sep 19 2010, 05:44 PM) I did not notice that it was trimmed. In fact, I thought they added a bar before one of the vocal parts. Either way, I'm still more bothered by the super trimmed Xanadu they did back in 91. Yeah, that bugs me. Either play the entire song, or don't play it at all. The same goes for 2112 as well. Perhaps they think people get bored with long songs? Personally, I could do WITHOUT 2112, it certainly ISN'T a staple. Nor should it be. Much better songs to be played, rather than a 5 minute instrumental piece, followed by 2 lines of words. I'm still wishing they'd play a B side tour. No radio hits, no fan favorites: Just B's.
  9. I still don't understand how it's a Spoiler? EVERYONE knows that it was being played in it's entirety. If you didn't know, then you must've been living under a rock, since about April. EDIT: I cannot edit it. The edit button isn't even appearing over my original post. Sorry guys. :/
  10. Indeed, it wasn't that noticeable. I wasn't actually complaining, just noting at how nice it sounds.
  11. No. They have a few albums left in them.
  12. And even then he didn't sound like no spring chicken. It seems like to me, Natty Sci on Different Stages, and the one on S&A L, they have a different sound (vocally speaking), Geddy uses less Vibrato on the DS version, which takes away from it, IMO. I like his return to 80's vibrato better. Unfortunately a con to that is control, which he doesn't have much of. :/
  13. I was listening to the studio version, and the live version. It's definitely cut back, but as far as I can tell, only by a bar, which is about 5 seconds. 'they seem oblivious......" Right before that line, they took out a bar of that section. Of course, I could be wrong. It's a long song, and while I love it. I'm just making a one off observation, off of a quick listen. EDIT: it's also shortened in the "are they oblivious part" as well.
  14. Exactly. I still love the man, but I miss the days when he had more good days, than bad. Though he HAS sounded good on some shows this tour. Best one I have heard so far is Camden, he just kills it on that show. Whereas, Los Angeles I think it was, he was dud, specifically on Faithless (lots of flat notes.) and Presto. The only problem I really have this tour, is why he's failing so bad on the new stuff. He sounds nothing like he did studio wise.
  15. Here's what I don't get: Geddy was in TOP TOP form on S&A Live, almost as good as on R30, just a bit lower, because of the nasal notes. And then on the SECOND leg, (after a LONG winter break.) he just doesn't sound as good. His intonation is horrible on some shows, and he just sounds plain tired. Listen to the Atlanta Bootleg DVD (S&A L Disc 3). Or, most shows. Jacksonville, Orlando, Maryland Heights or whatever it's called. Reno. He just sounds bad. :/ I feel sorry for him too. Oh well, like everyone says. He ain't gettin' any younger.
  16. He's going to have to stop singing certain songs soon, or they're gonna need to take it a step down. The first thing to go, is usually the voice. As much touring as Rush has done over the years (While not as heavy as AC/DC or Black Sabbath) and with Geddy's voice still doing pretty good. I'll take what I can get. Except, TSOR. f***ing take it a notch down, he sounds pretty bad there. :/
  17. I agree, after he stopped screaming (it really did suck in certain live shows (see Cygnus X-1, Geddy's painfully over the place, in NUMEROUS versions) it really just got better. Had he kept screaming, he would be like Ozzy Osbourne. No voice.
  18. People who're getting their panties in a bunch. It's okay to disagree, but jesus, some people get quite vocal, yes?
  19. Oh lord. Stop taking this shit seriously, ya'll. Take it for what it is. Or leave, your choice.
  20. Whatever you do. Stay off of N. Nebraska. Anywhere around there really. E. Hillsborough, e.t.c. I deal with enough bullshit to know (I come in through amtrak). It's just a bad area of town.
  21. Hell, I love Tom Sawyer. I can't get enough of it. But, the same can be said at LEAST 3-6 songs off of every album.
  22. My girlfriend lives in Tampa, and I WAS Supposed to go with my dad, but unfortunately we weren't able to amass the funds for it. (We live in Orlando.) Sad thing is, I'll be there when they roll into town.
  23. QUOTE (KillerInstinct @ Sep 5 2010, 02:34 PM) They better keep Presto and Marathon. Hearing two of my favorite songs played this tour was great, I hope they keep them for next year. Indeed, Marathon is a damn good song, a very gallopy song. Has quite a bit of energy left. But if they did drop it, it would be nice if they represented PoW with Middletown Dreams, or Manhattan Project (yeah right on either lol.)
  24. Presto, Faithless, Camera Eye, La Villa, and LTTA will probably be dropped. Marathon probably too, but I heard they are really, REALLY gelling on that song, so maybe not.
